THIS SONG WILL PAY THE BILLS

Alexithymiaa: -Steph sat at her piano, her sheet music spread out in front of her across the front with her hands resting on the keys. She gently played the simple tune she'd been writing to accompany the lyrics already scrolled across the pages. Pausing briefly, she grabbed the pencil resting in the stand and fixed a couple of the notes before going back to playing.-
Covet: Felix was in the middle of the floor playing with the dogs, pitting them against each other with a rope tug toy. He was also using an announcer voice to narrate the heated battled between the two dogs. Nugget growling as best as he could to sound intimidating, though Penny was having none of it.
Alexithymiaa: -Hearing all the growling sounds from behind her, she stopped playing and glanced over her shoulder at the three of them. "Can you be just a smidge quieter?"-
Covet: "Huh?" Felix said turning around, "I mean... we can try, but This is a pretty heated battle over here. Nugget's sit and don't budge game is strong. But Penny's quicker... it's a pretty even match right now." He told her as he kept an intent eye on the dogs he was refereeing.
Alexithymiaa: -She pursed her lips and took a deep breath, trying not to get frustrated despite already being kind of frustrated with her work. "Babe... this song is going to pay our bills. I highly suggest you try really hard to keep it down a little."-
Covet: "You've still got plenty of time to get it done though right?" He said because, the rest of them were having fun, why should they stop. This asshole.
Alexithymiaa: "The sooner I have it done, the sooner I can show her, the sooner she can buy it, and the sooner I'll get paid." She turned back to face the sheet music in front of her, chewing on the inside of her cheek. "I'll just... go upstairs or something." She reached out to collect the papers, pushing up from the stool and limping over to the bottom of the staircase. Reaching out for the railing, she pulled herself up onto the first step, wincing before continuing slowly.-
Covet: Felix looked at her with a frown on his face as she continued with her attitude, "Is money an issue right now?" He asked confused then saw her wince as she started up the stairs, He leaned over and pried the toy away from the two dogs and put it up on the island counter so they couldn't get to it. "Stop, I can see that going upstairs is going to be more pain than it's worth for the couple of hours you'll be up there. Just stay down here, I'll let the dogs out and they can burn that energy off out there."
Alexithymiaa: -She stopped on the stairs, pivoting to look at him. "Money is kind of always an issue. And the last check I got from our album sales disappeared pretty quickly. The last of it went when I paid the mortgage this month and I don't really have... anything else." She let out a deep sigh, lowering her head. "And I have to turn down the bonus I'd get for taking the girls to their invitational in a couple of weeks."-
Covet: Felix listened to her and furrowed his brow, " Okay, so then what can I do to help?" He asked walking over to the Stairs, leaning on the bannister post.
Alexithymiaa: -She watched his face, hugging her sheet music against her stomach. "Be a good muse and let me work so Liz wants to pay me top dollar for this song?" She asked despite knowing exactly what he meant.-
Covet: Felix gave her a look, and crossed his arms, "What can I do to help the financial situation. You still never told me what my part of the bills are. That alone would help you out a bit so you aren't living from pay check to paycheck."
Alexithymiaa: -She lowered herself down a couple of steps until she was eye level with him, reaching her free hand out to lay it over his forearm. "I haven't figured it out yet, but it's fine. Just cover the daily expenses like food and stuff like that. "-
Covet: Felix too her hand in his own, and looked at her, "And... Give me at least two bills to cover. I already cover food, seeing as I eat most of it. I'm serious Red. Let me to my part here."
Alexithymiaa: -She chewed on her lower lip, falling into silence for a long moment. "I like the idea of not needing the help, though."-
Covet: "I get that, and I'm not taking away that independence. I just want take care of my part of things. That's what this is right? A partnership?" Felix asked her.
Alexithymiaa: "Yes..." She said in a small voice. She thought for a moment, adjusting her stance in an attempt to be a little more comfortable. "Okay... you can pay the gas bill. How about that?"-
Covet: "Okay, and one more." Felix told her looking back at her. "I live here too now, and I use up just as many of the resources, this is just me being responsible, and it HAPPENS to help you out. Don't think of it like a bad thing."
Alexithymiaa: "I'll think about the other one, okay?" She asked, tipping her head to the side. "I'm sure I can think of other ways for you to be responsible."-
Covet: "No. Not okay. I need to know so that I can plan accordingly. Responsibly." He told her not budging until she gave him one more bill. "What other things should I be doing, to be responsible?" He asked confused.
Alexithymiaa: -She rolled her eyes and shifted her arm to drape over the railing so she could pull some of her weight off her leg. "So you can pay the water bill then, I don't know. But it would be very responsible of you to make sure I'm in bed at a reasonable time." She sent him a smirk, trying to lighten the mood.-
Covet: "Water and Gas. Got it." Felix said with a smile, because small wins. "Okay, but that means that I have to have you in bed, you don't have to be asleep right?" He asked double checking.
Alexithymiaa: "That is a fairly accurate assessment, yes." She said with a nod, her eyes watching his face.-
Covet: "Are you done working on your song for the night?" He pressed further.
Alexithymiaa: -She fanned the few pages of the sheet music she was holding, looking down at it for a moment before returning her glance to him. "I guess so, considering it's pretty late as it is. I can work on this some more tomorrow." She leaned over the railing to set it down on top of the piano beside the little potted cacti that now lived there.-
Covet: Once she'd set her sheet music down, Felix grabbed her by the waist and tossed her over his shoulder as he toted her off to the bedroom for not sleep things, with a pleased as punch, smug grin on his face.
