  1. Here is how we were thinking of handling "neckbeard" in the future. This thread is for us to come together as a community discuss possible changes to this policy before it's made official.

  7. "Neckbeard" is tentatively okay to use in SRS within reason, however, the mods will refrain from it using it in official posts. One reason for this is that it carries a lot of problematic associations that I'll cover later. It should be generally taken to mean "*person with privilege who dismisses those without
  8. privilege*", synonymous with "redditor" and "jorticulturalist".

  10. HOWEVER, as previously mentioned, "neckbeard" has some problematic associations. Specifically if it's being used in a fatphobic, ableist, or sexist context; and that is Not Cool. That being said, we also understand that it's important to be able to vent freely, and we don't want to silence marginalized people's expressions of frustration. So, going forward:
