Pokémon FireRed - Any% Glitchless (Charmander) FAQ
(updated for January/onward runs)

** What are you trying to do ? **
I'm trying to finish the game as fast as possible, using Charmander (and its evolutionary line) as my main Pokémon.

** Why choose Charmander ? **
In FireRed/LeafGreen, Fire type Pokémon are bad to choose because of the types used in Gyms and in important battles. This adds difficulty and challenge to the category.

** What are the major differences with the older route ? **
The first draft of the route used a lot of sidekicks strat that revealed to be extremely irrelevant, such as using Rock Slide, or skipping the maximum of Rare Candies. Now we mostly rely on Fire moves associated with Blaze, and we purposedly grab Rare Candies that help reaching specific levels that get us rid of ranges.
The route also changed in the events' order. We now fight Erika before doing the Game Corner, we factorize a part of Celadon shopping and the Cinnabar shopping into Saffron, saving a Fly menu as well.

** Is Charmander faster than Squirtle ? **
It is not. With insane luck, i can still beat the current best time (which used a Squirtle)

** What is your PB for now ? **
You can look the bottom time of the splits i'm displaying on the left side of the screen.

** Which fights are the most difficult ? **
Most of them. Misty is top first with Cerulean Rival, then comes Lance, Lorelei and Champion mostly. Misty is just about hitting Mega Kicks.

** Why do you keep resetting ? **
I try to RNG manip a +Spc.Atk nature (mostly Mild & Rash, can also run Quiet) with at least 20 IV Atk, 27 IV Spc.Atk, and 8 IV Spd.
The Attack is for the early game ranges with Brick Break and Mega Kick.
The Special Attack is for the late game (Giovanni fights, Rivals, Lorelei, Bruno & Champion)
The Speed is for fighting Sabrina right after finishing Silph Co, saving ~15 seconds.

** What's the table at the bottom of the stream ? **
This is RNG Reporter, a software that can predict which starter i'll get according to my Trainer ID & at what time i pick Charmander in its PokéBall.

** Why do you reset before seeing its stats ? **
He doesn't have the same sex as the Charmander i was aimaing for. (Female instead of Male, vice-versa)

** Why do you reset before entering the Laboratory ? **
No Charmander was found with the required stats, so i just reset for another Trainer ID.

** What are you playing on ? **
I'm using VBA-M, a VBA emulator. It's banned from leaderboards for its inacurracy, but it's the only one that conveniently let me juggle with other programs i'm using, i.e. EonTimer and the Gen 3 Starter program.
