  1. [5/3/2014 9:51:44 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: NVm - its not a lot of fuel anyway - my corp will take the contract for the fuel and use it later for the alliance
  2. [5/3/2014 10:11:02 PM] Siggon.k: okay, if not you're welcome to talk to one of the gsol guys to buy it
  3. [5/3/2014 10:11:18 PM] Siggon.k: gossamer dt, probably
  4. [5/3/2014 10:16:26 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: yeah - its small amounts - no issues - I'll just stock it. Its less than I have in corp stocks anyway
  5. [5/3/2014 10:17:06 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: I keep about 2 mil each on hand, plus another 1 - 2 mil each in sotrage in Low sec
  6. [5/3/2014 10:17:44 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: Any thoughts on the FC piece discussed earlier?
  7. [5/3/2014 10:18:22 PM] Siggon.k: there will definitely have to be some kind of internal fc program
  8. [5/3/2014 10:18:48 PM] Siggon.k: what that ends up looking like specifically, might be too soon to say
  9. [5/3/2014 10:19:14 PM] Siggon.k: odds are that we'll set up a structure initially to handle it, and let whoever is put in charge of it sort it out
  10. [5/3/2014 10:23:26 PM] spookyalias: Chance: I suspect fuel stores might get handled with asset distribution. Poke Kippig.
  11. [5/3/2014 10:26:37 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: yeah - kink was talking about it in exec. its such small amounts
  12. [5/3/2014 10:29:17 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: also - sion and nova - need email for you so i can add you to the exec document and convo log
  13. [5/3/2014 10:32:25 PM] Siggon.k: it's no worries, I have all the scrollback in here and I've got my own notes
  14. [5/3/2014 10:32:32 PM] Siggon.k: thanks though
  15. [5/3/2014 10:34:28 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: k - it has the running names and the agreed princeiples at the top - the document is locked, view and comment only, so things dont get accidentally altered.
  16. [5/3/2014 10:38:34 PM] Siggon.k: alright, sounds awesome
  17. [5/3/2014 10:39:12 PM] Siggon.k: mittani will have the scrollback, but having the summary of what happened and the suggestions handy will be great
  18. [5/3/2014 10:39:19 PM] Siggon.k: whenever he de-drunks
  19. [5/3/2014 10:40:02 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: heh - i have RX for that - can call it in to any walgreens -
  20. [5/3/2014 10:49:41 PM] spookyalias: Chance: Likewise no need for the transcript here, but thanks.
  21. [5/4/2014 10:25:46 AM] Siggon.k: if you guys get gsf people coming to you about moons, just tell them to fuck off for now
  22. [5/4/2014 10:25:53 AM] Siggon.k: unless it is a gsol person
  23. [5/4/2014 10:26:39 AM] Siggon.k: if there's any doubt if someone is a gsol person or not, feel free to ask. and the only things gsol should be asking to be transferred are tech and r64's
  24. [5/4/2014 11:02:05 AM] Attoy [ybox]: yeah, thanks Sion, kippig pinged about it
  25. [5/4/2014 11:02:22 AM] Attoy [ybox]: and I'm late btw gz for the CSM seat ;)
  26. [5/4/2014 11:02:27 AM] Siggon.k: thanks
  27. [5/4/2014 11:37:00 AM] Gigaplex: can you add kim_briggs@eve-gents.com to the transcript?
  28. [5/4/2014 12:00:52 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: Added
  29. [5/4/2014 12:01:24 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: Transcript will be updated later today. I have a lacrosse double header with my son
  30. [5/4/2014 12:48:34 PM] Gigaplex: thx
  31. [5/4/2014 12:51:57 PM] twiggermeister: Oops, forgot mine: dan.ravary@gmail.com
  32. [5/4/2014 1:12:24 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: One of my directors had some time to kill and cane up with some name variations
  33.
  34. Vagabond Consortium (VBC)
  35. VagaBond Conglomerate (VBC)
  36. VagaBond Collective (VBC)
  37.
  38. No Hassle Consortium (NHC)
  39. No Hassle Conglomerate (NHC)
  40. No Hassle Collective (NHC)
  41.
  42. The Lightweight Consortium (TLC)
  43. The Lightweight Conglomerate (TLC)
  44. The Lightweight Collective (TLC)
  45. [5/4/2014 1:13:01 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: The Lightweight Collective generates a nice ticker and acronym of TLC.
  46.
  47. The CFC can send some TLC to those who need it :)
  48. [5/4/2014 1:15:37 PM] Endie H: Is "Lightweight" not an insult in the US?
  49. [5/4/2014 1:15:45 PM] Endie H: It's pretty negative here
  50. [5/4/2014 1:15:57 PM] Endie H: Usage would be "he's just a lightweight"
  51. [5/4/2014 1:15:58 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: More like a challenge to drink more
  52. [5/4/2014 1:16:21 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: Senshi - added
  53. [5/4/2014 1:16:25 PM] Endie H: (I'm also staggered if the "TLC" ticker isn't taken)
  54. [5/4/2014 1:17:22 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: TLC is, -TLC- isn't.
  55. [5/4/2014 1:18:13 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: I'm partial to No Hassle. Collective adds something interesting. NHC
  56. [5/4/2014 1:40:12 PM] Phineas Freak: i#d prefer a name that does ipl what we want, not imply what we do not want. which is why i do not realy fancy "no hassle" although it is not bad
  57. [5/4/2014 1:47:45 PM] Gigaplex: Some Name suggestions of one of my members
  58. [5/4/2014 1:47:47 PM] Gigaplex: United Nation of Space [UNS]
  59. Liberty's Diner [LSD]
  60. [5/4/2014 1:48:40 PM] Phineas Freak: our corp favourite was SPANDEX [NICE] .. well
  61. [5/4/2014 1:48:46 PM] Nova Rain: Could be a bit more honest with that first one, and call it Dyfunctional Bureaucracy... In Space.
  62. [5/4/2014 1:49:02 PM] Nova Rain: Anyways, I ran this new alliance past my guys. The reaction was cautious interest. They're mostly curious about three things:
  63. 1) How much internal identity/cohesion/activity this new alliance will have.
  64. 2) What cultural barriers exist between GSF and this new entity.
  65. 3) Who actually ends up running it.
  66. [5/4/2014 1:51:57 PM] Phineas Freak: my impression: 1) depends on us and our actions, 2) no SA member requirements, we all were close to gsf before anyway, 3) official leaders known, i do not expect many more dg' nominations until someoen proves hiw worth (i would like to see chance as a dg though since he did good work in gents recruiting)
  67. [5/4/2014 1:52:18 PM] Phineas Freak: but yes nova my corp line members will have the same questions
  68. [5/4/2014 1:52:38 PM] Nova Rain: There's lots of impressions floating about, but I'd be curious for actual answers, with something concrete rather than hand waving when possible.
  69. [5/4/2014 1:54:45 PM] Phineas Freak: we do not expect the iceland visitors to sober up and make a statement before wednesday maybe, sowe scheduled a corp meet n thursday for updates if available
  70. [5/4/2014 1:56:53 PM] Nova Rain: And to be constructive, the directions we'd like to see those answers take:
  71. 1) At least some internal identity and structure, even if most activity is CFC, SIG, or corp based.
  72. 2) Significant enough that this new entity can develop largely independent of SA and Goons.
  73. 3) None of the folks from GENTS who were crazy at the end, and ideally no useless middle management types.
  74. [5/4/2014 1:58:01 PM] Phineas Freak: are there still issues among certain people you think need working on/fixing?
  75. [5/4/2014 1:58:15 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: At the end of the day is up to us to create that identity. If we bring the maturity and sophistication with us and model that to other corps who join and insist on it going forward, we will be rewarded with that type of player.
  76. [5/4/2014 1:58:51 PM] Phineas Freak: i am in the comfortable position that no one seems to openly have an issue with us or at least chose to ignore whatever tinfoil/trolling came form my/ou side in the past
  77. [5/4/2014 1:59:38 PM] Nova Rain: There's a set of people who I doubt SRNE would want to see as leaders. I don't think it's a particularly resolvable situation, but it also hopefully won't be a concern.
  78. [5/4/2014 2:01:10 PM] Phineas Freak: good, in that case i think every rep here should talk seperately to sion once we get to that stage of setting up the leader team (if there is any apart from the listed ones) so he gets an impression what could become an issue.
  79. [5/4/2014 2:02:58 PM] Phineas Freak: mind you i would always take into account the possible themittani perspective of "i trust this guy, deal with it or not"
  80. [5/4/2014 2:03:43 PM] Phineas Freak: read as: " forget the past, make it work"
  81. [5/4/2014 2:14:31 PM] Siggon.k: as I've said, we'll go based on ability rather than corp ticker or anything else
  82. [5/4/2014 2:15:14 PM] Siggon.k: the leaders bit is easy though, as that'll be the fuzzy mitten of benevolence
  83. [5/4/2014 2:15:52 PM] Siggon.k: so stuff will get delegated out, sure, but those people will be accountable for their actions (or inaction)
  84. [5/4/2014 2:16:04 PM] Siggon.k: useless people will get fired
  85. [5/4/2014 2:16:15 PM] Siggon.k: useful people, promoted
  86. [5/4/2014 2:16:49 PM] Nova Rain: All sensible, but abstract.
  87. [5/4/2014 2:19:24 PM] Phineas Freak: basically means that if mittens thinks someone will be useful it does not matter who from the ex-gents people holds grudges or thinks he is not capable.
  88. [5/4/2014 2:20:19 PM] Phineas Freak: people who went afk while holding dg roles possible won't get a second chance easily, so i am not overly concerned
  89. [5/4/2014 2:22:16 PM] Phineas Freak: also many thanks i to chance, sion and whoever else is providing us with all the summary updates on the backlog. i know i make your job a lot more difficult.
  90. [5/4/2014 2:30:09 PM] Rhaybeck [empin]: Chance, can you add Reign: reign797@eve-gents.com
  91. [5/4/2014 2:37:35 PM] Rhaybeck [empin]: after our corp meeting, EMPIN throws its support 100% behind the new alliance.
  92. [5/4/2014 2:45:33 PM | Edited 2:46:25 PM] wilkco -AIRK: Phineas Freak :-people who went afk while holding dg roles possible won't get a second chance easily, so i am not overly concerned.
  93. The thing is in the new allaince you will prob not have dg's but more role based people for things like fuel and fc stuff becuase we do not have that much sov if any and that will be managed by GSOL
  94. [5/4/2014 2:46:43 PM] Phineas Freak: yup that is what i meant.
  95. [5/4/2014 2:53:37 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: Abstract is the best we'll get in a gathering of minds like this. We have one definitive leader right now, and a delegated team of staff that will be there to notice talent and potential. Its good that these questions will be noted in the document, and answered in time, but for now I'm keeping my expectations low and just excited to be involved.
  96. [5/4/2014 2:55:33 PM] Nova Rain: Not asking anyone to define a leadership team before there's an alliance or anything. I'm just saying folk care who is on it.
  97. [5/4/2014 2:56:24 PM] Nova Rain: All the abstract words in the world wouldn't stop the laughter if you tried to put 1Meukka1 into a leadership role, to give an example that won't be relevant.
  98. [5/4/2014 2:57:52 PM] Phineas Freak: indeed :) i have good relations to many people who i know should not be put in heavy duty roles despite my personal friendship with them. but i trust the scouts to recognize that themselves.
  99. [5/4/2014 3:15:37 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: This being a new endeavor, it's up to this group to provide the framework. The roles and personnel I'm sure will be sorted out as we get closer to going live. There will be roles to fill and people interested in those jobs. Hopefully those with the interest also have the skill and the time to do it properly. If not, they won't be around long. Leadership burnout is something to be mindful of. Distributing the work load as much as possible is key. Case in point was gents reimbursement. I did the weekly payout. But left the pricing updates, data sets, and doctrine sheets up to others. FC program, logistics, and infrastructure are all going to benefit from the same distribution of work, with someone at the top able to provide the direction need to get the job done.
  100. [5/4/2014 3:23:36 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: Rhaybeck - reign added to list
  101. [5/4/2014 4:08:39 PM] Siggon.k: it's not abstract in the least
  102. [5/4/2014 4:08:55 PM] Siggon.k: if a person is supposed to do a job, and doesn't do it, they'll get replaced
  103. [5/4/2014 4:09:52 PM] Siggon.k: and laughter doesn't particularly matter either, this isn't going to be a government by consensus
  104. [5/4/2014 4:10:35 PM] Nova Rain: Laughter was a polite way to say "running for the hills".
  105. [5/4/2014 4:13:04 PM] Nova Rain: I'm just saying my dudes (and I assume folks in general, but can't really speak for them) care about who ends up on the leadership team, regardless of how it's managed.
  106. [5/4/2014 4:13:39 PM] Nova Rain: I don't think there's a particularly good answer to that aside from "our philosphy about management doesn't suck" and "wait and see that we pick good people", it just seemed like a concern worth passing on.
  107. [5/4/2014 4:15:44 PM] Siggon.k: well, people are welcome to vote with their feet of course
  108. [5/4/2014 4:16:41 PM] marcus allen: i personally dont care about who is in a leadership spot, long as there active and delivering a consitant message
  109. [5/4/2014 4:16:43 PM] Siggon.k: can't please everyone, and we're not going to try. the goal is results, and making sure our pilots have fun and are taken care of. our track record on that is pretty good and very public, it isn't exactly an unknown
  110. [5/4/2014 4:19:49 PM] wilkco -AIRK: pilots having fun should be the main aim and making it as easy as possible for fc's to take out fleets with out the worry of getting the fingers ponted out them if they welp a fleet
  111. [5/4/2014 4:28:40 PM] Siggon.k: the only people we allow to point fingers at fc's are other fc's and mittani himself
  112. [5/4/2014 4:29:09 PM] Siggon.k: if people don't actually fc, odds are they aren't qualified to critique others
  113. [5/4/2014 4:29:32 PM] Siggon.k: it also keeps the circular firing squads to a minimum
  114. [5/4/2014 4:35:03 PM] wilkco -AIRK: will the fc prgram be based on the goons one or something different
  115. [5/4/2014 4:35:47 PM] wilkco -AIRK: ie how easy will it be to become a basic/junior fc
  116. [5/4/2014 4:37:23 PM] Siggon.k: something different, if similar
  117. [5/4/2014 4:37:35 PM] Siggon.k: easy access is pretty important
  118. [5/4/2014 4:49:01 PM] Attoy [ybox]: out of topic , suggested name:
  119. - Banana Republic [-PUB-]
  120. - The Clone Federation [C-FED]
  121. - The Outer Impact [TOCT]
  122.
  123. I still prefer No Hassle/s
  124. [5/4/2014 4:50:44 PM] wilkco -AIRK: think i agree as well no hassle seems to be catchy
  125. [5/4/2014 4:51:52 PM] Attoy [ybox]: new ally "basic" FC will be the same as CFC Skirmish FC?
  126. [5/4/2014 4:51:53 PM] wilkco -AIRK: with out the gimmick
  127. [5/4/2014 4:53:14 PM] Rhaybeck [empin]: I do like something with the word 'Impact' in it...
  128. [5/4/2014 4:54:27 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: Grilled Tilde Guild [~~~]
  129. [5/4/2014 4:54:36 PM] Attoy [ybox]: lol
  130. [5/4/2014 4:55:35 PM] Rhaybeck [empin]: heh
  131. [5/4/2014 5:16:06 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: couple of things:
  132. 1. My kid's lacrosse game #1 11 - 7. #2 starts in 45 min.
  133. 2. The FC program needs to be as inclusive and accessible as possible. Tieing it too close to the Skirmish FC in GSF will give our FC program too high a hurdle to jump for very new FCs looking to take out more modest fleets. Its one thing to ping the alliance for a fleet and get 30 - 50 guys in Harpy fleet. ITs something else altogether to ping in directorbot for a fleet out of the gsfc channel and get 150 guys looking to join up. That is really daunting for a new FC.
  134.
  135. Creating doctrines and pathways for successful learning for younger FCs is what will make a highly mobile skirmish force like we are proposing successful. We need a very active and independent FC cadre to make this really work well.
  136.
  137. I'm not saying we lower the bar on what we expect from an FC - thoughtful encounters, good fleet discipline, knowing when to ask for help, good tactical awareness. BUt we can lower the bar on entry by opening up a variety of doctrines that allows for a variety of engagements without being too restrictive, expensive, or skill intensive.
  138.
  139. Our more senior level FCs should be strongly encouraged to be in gsfc and take out coalition fleets if we are deployed together. BUt additionally, a strong mentoring factor should be built in so we can get feedback to the younger guys and encourage them more. I'm as guilty as the next senior FC for not making that more of a priority in GENTS. Its something I want to change for this alliance, and something I think is early important to our success.
  140.
  141. 3. Transcript is up to date.
  142. [5/4/2014 5:16:33 PM] Phineas Freak: new alliance name: Malamutes [TILDE]
  143. [5/4/2014 5:17:28 PM] Phineas Freak: ever seen an nagry malamute? they are fearsome and can run for miles, yet loyal as fuck
  144. [5/4/2014 5:17:30 PM] Siggon.k: let slip the dogs of war?
  145. [5/4/2014 5:18:16 PM] Phineas Freak: heh yeah
  146. [5/4/2014 5:26:53 PM] Nova Rain: Haven't there been a couple Cry Havocs?
  147. [5/4/2014 5:32:15 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: In every game I've played theres been at least one and I don't think I've gotten along with any of them :P
  148. [5/4/2014 5:36:10 PM] Symbiotes: you guys talking about cry havoc and dead terrorists show up in vale o.0
  149. [5/4/2014 5:36:39 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: Oh dear.
  150. [5/4/2014 5:40:51 PM] Caribbeansea-Prax: Names for the new alliance Sym
  151. [5/4/2014 5:43:28 PM] Symbiotes: I suck at naming things, so please dont ask me or you'll end up with numbers or colors :)
  152. [5/4/2014 6:56:22 PM] Attoy [ybox]: Chance, #1 11-7 , was your kid on the winning side? #2 good luck for the next game ;) Also, I mostly agree on what you said, however I feel scared about "opening up a variety of doctrines"; I'd like to see a not giganormous numbers of doctrines as before; that's why I asked if the FC programs will reflect the CFC FCs ranking and if we will adopt CFC doctrines plus some customized one.
  153. [5/4/2014 7:18:14 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: They won game 1. Winning game 2 at half time.
  154.
  155. I'd like to have a more pared down list of doctrines than we had before. But have those offer a range of tactical situations they can engage. The rlml version of the Scyfi doctrine is an example. But I don't want to get into doctrines. Only that the fc program should be built on the concept of bring as accessible as possible for newer fcs, as well as having enough tactical ability to be effective.
  156.
  157. This is easy to say. Harder to implement. Our fast moving, asymmetric force structure is going to need some doctrines that don't exist in the cfc unified doctrine plan. Again, balance is important. We need doctrines to let us execute our strategy, but we don't want do many doctrines that they limit our mobility. I'd love to plan around 1 carrier load of doctrine ships. Those doing more specialty roles may have more. But line members should be able to move everything we plan to use in 1 load.
  158. [5/4/2014 7:20:25 PM] Nova Rain: I suspect doctrine discussion is slightly premature. One of the major inputs to that whole process is the reimbursement situation.
  159. [5/4/2014 7:20:34 PM] Attoy [ybox]: [Sunday, May 04, 2014 7:18 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR:
  160.
  161. <<< Again, balance is important. We need doctrines to let us execute our strategy, but we don't want do many doctrines that they limit our mobility. I'd love to plan around 1 carrier load of doctrine ships. Those doing more specialty roles may have more. But line members should be able to move everything we plan to use in 1 load.emphasis on "1 carrier load" and I'm happy like a little child when he received a chocolate ice cream
  162. [5/4/2014 7:21:35 PM] Attoy [ybox]: Agree with you Nova on that, however Sion already told us the alliance will cover SRP same as GSF does
  163. [5/4/2014 7:21:41 PM] Attoy [ybox]: peacetime and stratop reimb
  164. [5/4/2014 7:21:51 PM] Attoy [ybox]: or did I understand wrong?
  165. [5/4/2014 7:22:17 PM] Phineas Freak: tbh the "1 carrier load" is very optimistic if you are like me and have one place reserved for a hctor already +1 baltec line ship for cfc ops. but i do get your point
  166. [5/4/2014 7:24:26 PM] Nova Rain: You probably wouldn't bring a battleship doctrine if you want to go skirmish somewhere. And that basically solves your volumne problem.
  167. [5/4/2014 7:24:39 PM] Attoy [ybox]: ^^
  168. [5/4/2014 7:25:46 PM] Attoy [ybox]: however I read the whole backlog, so we are at the point we have to wait for Mittani/Sion/Endie to share with us what are they thinink about it, aren't we?
  169. [5/4/2014 7:26:21 PM] Attoy [ybox]: (yes, bedise the name)
  170. [5/4/2014 7:28:38 PM] Phineas Freak: yes Attoy, And yes Nova, i was picking an unlikely example.
  171. [5/4/2014 7:37:06 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: Yeah, I've been sort of assuming we'd levee bs doctrines behind. If we deploy with the coalition to main AO, that might change. But we also might make some allowance for a purchase program or corp loan program so that individual pilots don't need to worry about them.
  172.
  173. But as we've said, doctrine discussion is a bit early.
