  1. BEGIN DAY 2
  2.
  3. >Dreams.
  4. >They can be very odd at times, not that you haven’t had your own share of weird dreams.
  5. >Lying on a stage with no legs and a sewn mouth is pretty weird.
  6. >Some p0nies have even told you that dreams are similar to premonitions.
  7. >Especially for unicorns.
  8. >You are Lyra, and you are dreaming.
  9. >On this stage with no limbs, and no way to speak, the spotlight burns your body.
  10. >You are completely whole, save for the no legs thing.
  11. >There is a dull throb of warmth just below your neck as an unfamiliar pressure builds up.
  12. >You move your head around frantically, trying to see if there is any hope of getting out of this situation.
  13. >But it’s no use. The lights are too bright and your vision cannot adjust.
  14. >You continue to wriggle yourself across the stage.
  15. >You’ll come to an edge or a wall eventually, right?
  16. >Hours seem to pass.
  17. >Panic has nearly consumed you by now.
  18. >Your back and neck are exhausted from using them as a means of locomotion.
  19. >Just when you are about to rest your head indefinitely and give up, a startling, deafening static washes over your ears.
  20. >The lights flicker sporadically for a moment.
  21. >You snap your head around, searching for the source of the noise.
  22. >It never relents and stays constant.
  23. >You hear nothing other than the static.
  24. >Finally, a figure appears to come through the blinding lights.
  25. >Tall.
  26. >Bipedal.
  27. >Definitely not a pony.
  28. >The figure arrives at your side, close enough to smell, but for some reason you can’t.
  29. >It crouches low, reaching out an appendage towards you.
  30. >What was this thing, retarded?
  31. >Did it expect you to grab it?
  32. >Uh, no hooves pal.
  33. >But the next move surprises you.
  34. >The appendage reaches further, and pats your head.
  35. >Your brain is rocked back and forth the moment the creature spoke.
  36. >Distorted, muffled, loud and incoherent are just a few words that came to mind when describing its voice.
  37. >You have no idea what it said, but before you can even begin to wonder just who it was that came to pet you, you vision darkens rapidly.
  38. >You feel your chest tightening, almost about to burst.
  39. >A horrible pain claws at the back of your head.
  40. >Indescribable sensations travel up and down your spine.
  41. >You’re sure you’ve orgasmed unintentionally at the large onset of overwhelming feelings.
  42. >Falling.
  43. >Oh goddesses, you’re falling!
  44. >You scream as loud as you can against the neverending static.
  45. >There’s no way you’ll survive this.
  46. >You’ve been counting the seconds and estimating distances.
  47. >Seven seconds and increasing.
  48. >You are as good as dead.
  49. >You consider your life’s value.
  50. >Were you able to make a difference in anyp0ny’s life?
  51. >Will anyone remember you after you’re gone?
  52. >You hope Bon Bon won’t be too upset.
  53. >You look down and the ground is within a legs reach as it fills your vision.
  54. >You’re staring at Anon.
  55. >His face is pale and his eyes are a little red.
  56. >Why’s he crying?
  57. >”Jesus Christ…”
  58. >Those words always confused you.
  59. >He looks a little relieved suddenly.
  60. >Wonder what happened.
  61.
  62. >You are Anon, and there were no dreams for you.
  63. >Instead, you awoke to some odd noises coming from your living room.
  64. >Lyra.
  65. >A part of you wishes that you’d gotten into some crazy herbs and hallucinated last night.
  66. >Not with your luck.
  67. >You like to think your own mind wouldn’t be morbid enough to conjure something like that.
  68. >You rise out of bed and throw on a robe.
  69. >Can’t have a lady in the house get an early peek at the goods.
  70. >Haha!
  71. >Even if she is a machine-p0ny hybrid that begged for death.
  72. >Dammit.
  73. >You’ve made yourself sad.
  74. >You take a deep breath and head out down the hallway into the living room.
  75. >An immediate glance at the couch and you are by Lyra’s side quicker than a patch release for an EA game just after launch.
  76. >You miss Earth for a minute, but not much.
  77. >Lyra is priority one right now.
  78. >She’s convulsing horribly, most likely a seizure.
  79. >Normally you’d know what to do in this case, but since she’s a bit more machine than p0ny, you don’t have a plan.
  80. >Shit could get ten times worse if you pull something the wrong way or put pressure somewhere you’re not supposed to.
  81. >fuck fuck fuck
  82. >It’s tearing into you, watching her spasm on your couch.
  83. >You remove the blanket so she at least doesn’t get tangled up in it.
  84. >The.
  85. >Smell.
  86. >You puke in your mouth a little, and grimace as you swallow it back down.
  87. >Her legs are flexing something fierce.
  88. >You’re running into the kitchen to maybe shock her with a cool rag when you notice she relaxes a bit.
  89. >You’re on edge as you wait and watch, half-way through the kitchen entrance.
  90. >Little did you know this was the calm before the storm.
  91. >The worst sound that has ever graced your ears splits through the silence of the morning.
  92. >She screams.
  93. >She screams like her life depends on it.
  94. >She screams like she is being stabbed to death.
  95. >No joke, you feel your bladder release a bit you were so scared and caught off guard.
  96. >You tear into the kitchen, eyes flowing with tears, but you aren’t really crying.
  97. >You throw a nearby towel in the sink and run it under the faucet like there’s no tomorrow.
  98. >She’s still screaming.
  99. >You run back into the living room, towel drenched with cold water dripping all over the place.
  100. >She’s shaking hard now, legs flailing everywhere.
  101. >You place the towel on her side, careful to avoid any of her exposed areas, slowly rubbing up and down her body.
  102. >She stops almost immediately, and you wait.
  103. >Getting a closer look at her head, you move within inches of the lens.
  104. >A quick twitch and her head is facing you.
  105. >You swear you see it tilt to one side almost out of curiosity.
  106. “Jesus Christ…”
  107. >Your hand rubs against your face as you sigh deeply into it.
  108. >Fucking hell, what have you gotten yourself into?
  109.
  110. >Lyra still looks a little out of it, at least from what you can tell just by judging head movements.
  111. >This new look of hers isn’t very expressive.
  112. >Still lying on her side, you see her about to try and roll onto her stomach to get up.
  113. >Oh fuck!
  114. >That shit is about the touch your fucking couch!
  115. >Well, time to throw that damn thing out.
  116. >Turns out that you don’t have to worry about it because she caused herself an immense amount of pain just trying it.
  117. >Lyra yelps and kicks her legs hard out from underneath her, trying to get off of her side and off the couch.
  118. >It’s clear that she’s panicking.
  119. >”Wha-...what’s going on?!”
  120. >God, she sounds so hurt, and that little speaker for her voice only makes it worse.
  121. >She’s backing herself into a corner of the room.
  122. >”Oh goddesses, it really haaa-”
  123. >The rest just turned into one unintelligible sob.
  124. >Shit just breaks your heart, man.
  125. >You’ve got to do something about this, and quick.
  126. >No living creature deserves this.
  127. >Killing her is out of the question.
  128. >You aren’t about to ruin your life like that.
  129. >But honestly, you’re having a hard time trying to come up with a better solution.
  130. >Seriously, her head is gone.
  131. >It’s not there anymore.
  132. >You don’t even know how she’s talking or even alive at this point.
  133. >Fuck, this looks hopeless.
  134. >...
  135. >Wait.
  136. >You’re in Equestria.
  137. >A land filled with a fuck-ton of magical talking p0nies that do magical magic with magic and shit!
  138. >There’s got to be a way to help her!
  139. >And you know just who to ask, too!
  140. >You slowly start to approach Lyra, her head angling towards you.
  141. >She’s calmed down a bit, but you can clearly tell she’s got a whooooole lot on her mind right now.
  142. >Best keep things easy and simple.
  143. >You’ll need a bit of info before you head out, so you start with some obvious questions.
  144. “Lyra,”
  145. >You stare into the lens, an upside-down image of you reflected in it.
  146. “...What happened?”
  147. >She whimpers.
  148. “It’s okay, just take your time.”
  149. >She nods.
  150. >After a few minutes, you see her straighten up her stance, and she sits on the ground.
  151. >”I-I don’t know.”
  152. >Loads of help there.
  153. “Alright, what’s the last thing you remember before you ended up...like this?”
  154. >”A little. I was walking th-through the Everfree-”
  155. >Goddamnit
  156. >”-when I ran into this...wall thing, b-but it wasn’t really a wall. It was like it was invisible. I prodded at it a little, but it didn’t do anything. S-sounded a little hollow. I thought it might have been some sort of shield spell, so I cast a d-disarming spell on it.”
  157. >She paused as she shifted her gaze to the floor.
  158. >”I think that’s when it happened. As soon as I used my magic, I heard a loud noise, nothing like I’ve ever heard before, and I was dragged by my hind legs into nothing.”
  159. “...Into nothing?”
  160. >”Well, I mean, it was just super dark. I couldn’t see anything around me. I don’t remember anything after that.”
  161. >You sat and compiled the info for a bit.
  162. >Really, you just wanted a minute to catch your breath. She still stank like a month’s old rotting garbage.
  163. “Lyra, I’m going to help you, but I can’t do it by myself. I’ll need someone else’s help.”
  164. >She started shaking again.
  165. “Now calm down. Just don’t do anything rash and stay inside. I promise you, we’ll get you back to your old self again.”
  166. >An eerie silence fills the void.
  167. >All you hear is the shuffling of her hooves.
  168. >”But what if you can’t?”
  169. >That’s pretty gruesome, but rather realistic you suppose.
  170. “We’ll find a wa-”
  171. >”But what if you can’t?!”
  172. >You swear, she just loves to cut you off.
  173. “Then…!”
  174. >You’re stumped for a bit, but you realize what you have to do.
  175. >There’s no way any other p0ny out there will take her in.
  176. >She can barely take care of herself so far as it seems.
  177. >And out of everyone she could have gone to, she chose you.
  178. >You know what you need to do.
  179. “Then I’ll watch over you.”
  180. >That got her attention.
  181. “I’ll watch over you. You’ll live here.”
  182. >She’s taken aback from what you can tell.
  183. >Damn it’s hard to get a read on this mare, what with no face and all.
  184. >She ends up simply lowering her head.
  185. >Not sure if that means she accepts your offer or what, but you don’t hear any objections.
  186. >You reach over and place a hand on her shoulder.
  187. “Lyra, I’m going to leave now, but I promise you I will be back and bring help. Will you be okay here by yourself? Do you need anything to eat?”
  188. >Shit.
  189. >Shouldn’t have said that last one.
  190. >”No. But thank you, Anon. It doesn’t seem like I have to eat anymore. I’ll be fine.”
  191. >With that, she gracelessly plopped onto her side in the corner of the room she was sitting in.
  192. >Her back wa facing the room, and she stared into the wall.
  193. >You moved away from her, keeping an eye on her at all times until you reach the hallway.
  194. >You sprint to your room, thrown on a pair of jeans, some plain t-shirt and your shoes and make your way back to the living room towards the front door.
  195. >You look back towards Lyra one more time.
  196. “I’ll be back in a couple hours, Lyra. Just hang in there.”
  197. >A small nod was your answer.
  198. >You close your door, locking it behind you.
  199. >No need to have someone stumbling into THAT mess.
  200. >God, that’d be a nightmare to explain.
  201. >You peer over at the nearby hills.
  202. >The sun is just about to crest over them.
  203. “Fucking hell. REALLY don’t want to go see Twilight.”
  204.
  205. >You are Lyra.
  206. >Anon is outside cursing to himself as he walks away.
  207. >The house is quiet.
  208. >The only thing you can hear is your own body making noises that you don’t understand.
  209. >You’re still lying on the floor.
  210. >It’s cool and fairly comfortable, aside from the pressure it puts on your ribs.
  211. >Although, pain is a fairly strange thing now.
  212. >Sure, it’s always there, but it’s become dull.
  213. >Almost numbing.
  214. >Once you pass a certain threshold, however, all of the pain comes crashing at once, until it settles back into the dull numbness that you’re used to.
  215. >Your belly proves to be a high-risk area.
  216. >Not being able to lie down properly has definitely made it difficult to maneuver.
  217. >You flail your legs again like earlier to swing your hooves underneath you so you can stand up immediately.
  218. >It’s probably best to explore your surroundings since you will probably be spending most of your time here.
  219. >Your first stop is the bathroom down the hall.
  220. >You find the light and use a hoof to flick it on.
  221. >Sweet Celestia.
  222. >You’ve never seen yourself since…
  223. >Your legs are starting to shake badly.
  224. >Soon, your rump is located on the floor as you take in the shock from seeing just what has happened to you.
  225. >The noises in your chest are getting a bit louder.
  226. >It seems there’s a correlation to performing strenuous activity and noise volume.
  227. >Stare into the mirror, gazing in the lens that is your current eye.
  228. “Why is this happening?”
  229. >Your voice sounds hollow and distant to you.
  230. >Gathering what little strength you have, you leave the bathroom and head to the next room in the house.
  231. >Anon’s bedroom.
  232. >You won’t lie that you’re rather happy to be with Anon.
  233. >There’s always been a certain allure that you couldn’t overlook.
  234. >No matter the stories of how many mares he’s bedded, you still have a small bit of curiosity yourself.
  235. >But he has no interest in you.
  236. >No matter how close you try to get to him, there was always something blocking your way.
  237. >You eventually gave up.
  238. >And settled for ramming your face into him at the market to strike up some conversation.
  239. >And now…
  240. “He’ll never want to be with me. He almost vomits just by looking at me.”
  241. >You plop down on your side against Anon’s bed.
  242. >Emotions roll through you, taking your mind far away from the floor of a house you’ve only dreamt of being in.
  243. >And you wait.
  244. >You wait for Anonymous.
  245.
  246. >”Can I help you?”
  247. >The little turd known as Spike answers your knock on Twilights Tree Castle thing.
  248. “Yeah, I need to speak with Twilight. It’s important.”
  249. >The stool pile quirks an eyebrow at you as he crosses his chubby arms.
  250. >”Important?”
  251. >Man, this guy gets on your nerves.
  252. >He knew about a certain run in you had with a white unicorn a while back.
  253. >Bitch was horrible in bed.
  254. >But that was like two years ago, and its all been buried in the past.
  255. >You’re both sort of good friends.
  256. >You needed to be, since she was the only p0ny around that could make your clothes for you.
  257. >And this little shit in front of you didn’t care for any of it.
  258. “Look man, either get Twilight, or I’ll just move you out of the way and look for her myself.”
  259. >”Twilight requests that all visitors schedule an appointment ahead of time.”
  260. >He flashes a cocky smile.
  261. >”I’m afraid there’s nothing I can do.”
  262. >Your rage is about to boil over.
  263. >You didn’t walk 40 minutes over here just for fart mouth to fucking cock-block you from getting Lyra some help.
  264. “Listen you little fucker! There’s a mare in my house right now that is seriously injured and could die at any minute, and that Princess of yours is the only p0ny that can save her! Now either you let me in and show me where Twilight is, or I will stomp you down where you stand!”
  265. >That seemed to get the point across.
  266. >He runs inside and you follow behind him.
  267. >A few turns through some corridors and you arrive at what you can imagine is the throne room.
  268. >You count the chairs.
  269. >Seven.
  270. >Huh.
  271. >Little shit has his own chair.
  272. >What a waste.
  273. >You see Twilight sitting in her chair sideways, and rather undignified really.
  274. >Her forelegs are draped over one of the arms of the chair, one hind leg still in the seat, the other hanging loose in front, swaying gently every now and then.
  275. >This is definitely one mare you wouldn’t mind getting behind, if you know what I mean.
  276. >AMIRITE?
  277. >Her current posture shows a wonderful curve starting at her neck, dipping low towards the front-half of her back, then rising back up again into one delicious rump.
  278. >Man, what you would give to sink your fingers into that flank as you plowed her senseless.
  279. >U-Unf.
  280. >Dammit.
  281. >Not now, dick.
  282. >She’s got a few papers floating in front of her.
  283. >She looks bored as fuck.
  284. >”Twilight! That weird ape guy is here to see you!”
  285. >Thanks, faggot.
  286. >She’s startled and drops her papers, looking straight towards you.
  287. >She immediately gets off of her chair and approaches you.
  288. >”W-What are you doing here? I thought I made it clear that everyp0ny needs to schedule an ap-”
  289. “It’s an emergency, Twilight. There’s a mare in my house right now that has some serious injuries.”
  290. >”Then why not take her to a hospital, Anon? Your carelessness has probably endangered her further by wasting time coming all the way to me!”
  291. “These aren’t your typical injuries, Princess. I’m not that fucking retarded, and don’t you DARE question my integrity right now.”
  292. >She’s definitely taken aback by your sudden forceful tone.
  293. >To be honest, you are too.
  294. “Look, there is some serious shit happening to this mare. It’s not natural, and it’s not something any old doctor can fix.”
  295. >You kneel before her.
  296. >Man, you must be pretty desperate to convince her.
  297. “Please. I came to you because I knew you were the only one who could help us.”
  298. >Us?
  299. “Er- her. Help her, that is.”
  300. >You raise your head up and see Twilight’s eyes darting around at the ground.
  301. >After some thought, her gaze matches yours.
  302. >”Alright, I believe you. If it’s as serious as you say, then we don’t have much time. It must have taken you, what-”
  303. >She tilts her head and bites her bottom lip in thought.
  304. >HHHNNNNGGG.
  305. >”-40 minutes to get here?”
  306. >Damn, she’s good.
  307. >Fucking nerd.
  308. >”There’s no time to waste.”
  309. >She stand and spreads her wings.
  310. >“SPIKE! Fetch me my copies of Ironic Injury Repair, So You Think You Might Be Dying, Mysterious Otherworldly Maladies and Supernaturals. Send them to me in 14 minutes.”
  311. >Send them?
  312. >She trots over to you, and looks a little embarrassed.
  313. >”Well, g-get on. We’ll make it there quicker if I fly us.”
  314. “Uh, okay.”
  315. >You awkwardly try to mount Twilight in a non-sexual way.
  316. >There’s no way this will be non-sexual for you.
  317. >You raise a leg over her hind quarters and kneel down a bit to rest your weight against her.
  318. >Bliss.
  319. >Twilight’s ass is warm as fuck, not to mention it feels fantastic.
  320. >You lower your arms at her sides, gripping slightly at her flesh.
  321. >You feel her squirm a bit.
  322. >”Uh-”
  323. >Spike decides to open his fucking mouth.
  324. >”-couldn’t you just, carry him beside you with magic?”
  325. >GODDAMNIT.
  326. >YOU LITTLE SHIT.
  327. >Twilight’s ears are practically glowing red by this point.
  328. >She scrambles to get out from under you and laughs nervously.
  329. >”Eheheh! Thanks, Spike! I forget about that sometimes!”
  330. >She nervously runs a hoof through her mane as her wings ruffle a bit.
  331. >niggathatskawaii.gif
  332. >”W-Well, let’s get going, Anonymous. We’ve wasted enough time just talking.”
  333. >You are promptly picked up and carried off by Twilight’s magic.
  334. >If you’ve never been carried by magic, it’s nothing special, other than it feels like you’re falling the whole time.
  335. >Like zero-gravity, or so you’ve been told.
  336. >You’re both already out of the castle and into the skies before you can blink.
  337. >Well, there went your dreams of grinding on Twilight’s ass as you both flew through the sky.
  338. >”So, what exactly is wrong with this mare, Anonymous? Do you know who she is?”
  339. >The questions begin, and you have no idea how to prepare someone for the horror that is located at your house.
  340. >You’re both nearly yelling over the sound of the wind.
  341. “It’s Lyra. Lyra Heartstrings. And as for what’s wrong with her…”
  342. >You go silent for a bit.
  343. >”I know Lyra. We’ve talked a few times. How bad is it, Anon?”
  344. >Is this something you can really gauge?
  345. “Well, to me, if you had to rate it from 1 to 10, I’d say it’s at least over 9000”
  346. >kek
  347. >”That’s impossible, Anon. Anything over 269 and Lyra would be dead and wiped from existence. We wouldn’t even be talking about her because we wouldn’t remember her. Can you tell me anything about it?”
  348. >Bitch seriously has a rating system for this shit.
  349. >There’s no way you can tell her what’s happened.
  350. “You’ll just have to see it for yourself.”
  351. >She nods, and doubles her efforts at flying.
  352. >The rest of the flight is quiet.
  353.
  354. >You both land by your front door and Twilight’s magic lets you go.
  355. >You’re curious about one thing though that was said back at the castle.
  356. “So, you’d asked Spike to send you some books. How will he-”
  357. >As soon as you started the question, a saddlebag with two books on either side appeared in front of Twilight.
  358. >She caught the bag and put it on.
  359. >”I taught Spike how to adjust the wavelength of his innate fire delivery spell to match the aura of other p0nies.”
  360. >Impressive and about time.
  361. >You’ve always thought that being able to send to only one person, that being the Princess of all Equestria, was a bit impractical.
  362. >You see her start towards the front door.
  363. >You backflip over her and stop her from entering.
  364. >Or at least, you would have liked to.
  365. >Really, you just ended up tripping on yourself and crawled really fast in front of her while she was dumbfounded by your behaviour.
  366. >Smooth.
  367. >”Um…”
  368. >Time to try and explain some shit before she sees Lyra.
  369. “Alright, listen. Lyra’s not in good shape. In fact, she looks a lot less like herself than ever.”
  370. >Twilight has your full attention.
  371. “Something terrible has happened to her. She came to me last night, and begged me to…”
  372. >Wow, you’re actually getting a little choked up remembering it.
  373. “Anyway, she came to me, and I want to help her. And I’ve never seen anything like this before, so that’s when you came to mind.”
  374. >Twilight nods.
  375. “Just...be ready for anything, okay? I passed out the first time I saw her.”
  376. >Twilight is thoroughly confused.
  377. >”I can’t even imag-”
  378. “Have you eaten today?”
  379. >The question through her completely off.
  380. >”Uh, a little? I had a hay burger left over from last night.”
  381. >Well, that’ll be gross to see on your floor.
  382. >You turn back towards the door and grasp the handle to open it.
  383.
  384. >The smell is the first thing you notice.
  385. >Lyra is obviously still here, but she's not in the living room where you last saw her.
  386. >Didn't really expect her to sit in one spot the whole time anyway.
  387. >This begins the short search.
  388. >If Twilight noticed the smell, she hasn't commented on it.
  389. >Maybe she just thinks you're a slob and your house always smells like something has died in it.
  390. >Oh.
  391. >Probably not a good use of that saying.
  392. >Twilight is beside you nearly the whole time.
  393. >"So, where is she?"
  394. >You've both just come out of the kitchen and started heading down the hall.
  395. >"If this is some sick joke just to get me in your house, Anonymous, it's not very funny."
  396. >Your rebuke is cut short by a familiar sound.
  397. >Lyra is crying.
  398. >Again.
  399. >You can tell she's in your bedroom.
  400. >God, you hope she's not lying on your bed.
  401. >"Anonymous...what's that sound?"
  402. >Twilight's getting nervous.
  403. >She has no idea what she’s about to see.
  404. >You sigh and start into your bedroom.
  405. >Lyra is lying beside your bed, back facing you, slightly trembling.
  406. >Her head is tucked low, close to her belly.
  407. >That confirms she can't smell anything.
  408. >What happens next will most likely haunt you for a while.
  409. >Twilight steps into the room.
  410. >"Wh-what..."
  411. >She squeaks the words out at her first glimpse.
  412. >Twilight is already shaking, her color draining from her face.
  413. >She is no longer the Princess of Friendship, or the Element of Magic.
  414. >In this moment, Twilight is subject to absolute horror, and she is just a scared little filly.
  415. >Her pupils are pin-pricks, ears laid back and flapping erratically.
  416. >She gets close enough to see Lyra's head.
  417. >"Celestia save me."
  418. >It's all she can say at the sight.
  419. >To show Twilight that Lyra is actually alive and responsive, you crouch down and place a hand on the unfortunate mare's side and slowly rub.
  420. "Lyra, I'm here now. I brought help."
  421. >Lyra turns her head to look at you and the new guest.
  422. >Twilight is stuck in place, mouth agape, eyes wide.
  423. >Seeing who the 'help' is, Lyra flails her legs again to stand.
  424. >She frantically backs into your dresser, knocking a few items off the top.
  425. >A hard sob is heard from behind you.
  426. >Twilight is barely holding herself up, hind legs already collapsed under her.
  427. >She inhales deeply, legs shaking uncontrollably, and releases the saddest scream you have ever heard from a living creature through clenched teeth.
  428. >A torrent of tears are pouring from her face.
  429. >And in this moment, you realize you've done a great misdeed to Twilight.
  430. >You've taken away a bit of her innocence.
  431. >No doubt, Twilight has seen some shit in her days, what with saving the world and all that.
  432. >But this is on a completely different plane.
  433. >You can see it in her eyes, what she's lost.
  434. >What she'll never get back.
  435. >And you brought her to it.
  436. >Now comes the question of which mare you help first.
  437. >In one corner, you’ve got Lyra shaking in fear and trying to shrink smaller every second.
  438. >It does confuse you a bit.
  439. >You’re pretty sure she knows who Twilight is.
  440. >Hell, everyone knows who she is.
  441. >Did something happen between them?
  442. >Dammit.
  443. >Don’t get sidetracked.
  444. >You’ll get to it eventually.
  445. >Twilight, on the other side of you, is breaking.
  446. >You can see her twitching erratically at times, out of sync with the hiccups and shudders that come with sobbing your mind out.
  447. >Her eyes are still peeled wide open, pupils shaking, whites starting to turn red from her tears.
  448. >Fuck.
  449. >Lyra’s the one in the most pain here.
  450. >She begged you for death, so she is first priority.
  451. >Plus, it might be a little easier to get her out of the room first from the look of things.
  452. >You turn towards her, and get down close to bring your hand to her side.
  453. “Lyra, we need to get out of this room. We’re going to go to the living room, okay?”
  454. >You are very gentle with your words, but still have to use some volume to be heard over Twilight’s wailing.
  455. >Lyra doesn’t respond.
  456. >You move your hand up to her withers and pet slowly.
  457. >This seemed to calm her down a little.
  458. >You give a little nudge forward on her, and she starts towards the hallway.
  459. >When she clears the door, you turn to Twilight.
  460. >Her eyes are still focused where Lyra was standing, snot and tears dripping from her face.
  461. >Teeth still clenched tight, she’s only making strained noises now.
  462. >Sniffles, small chokes, little squeaks here and there.
  463. >You kneel on the floor next to her, and embrace her tightly.
  464. “Shhhh, shhhh. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I should have tried harder to prepare you for this.”
  465. >How you would have done that is anyone’s guess.
  466. >You slowly stroke her mane and neck, whispering more comforting words.
  467. >Her shivering seems to subside.
  468. >You feel her rest her head on your shoulder.
  469. >A quick look to the side and you see she’s finally closed her eyes.
  470. >You stay like this for probably 10 minutes.
  471. >It’s hard to tell.
  472. >You feel Twilight shift away from you and you release her.
  473. >Both of you look into each other’s eyes.
  474. >She looks…
  475. >...vulnerable.
  476. >Never in your life did you imagine seeing Twilight of all p0nies in this state.
  477. >She starts to open her mouth, but you can see her questioning her words.
  478. >She stops before saying anything and settles for running her foreleg over her muzzle a few times to get rid of traces of mucus and teardrops, accompanied with a loud, long sniffle.
  479. >Gross.
  480. >A cough and a heavy sigh later, and Twilight is standing back up, albeit a bit unsteadily.
  481. >”Anon, I have to examine her.”
  482. >Her voice was dry and thin.
  483. >”This could just be an illusion, o-or just some mind trick someone is playing on us.”
  484. >Oh man, she’s grasping at straws.
  485. >Not a good sign.
  486. >"I-I've seen it done. It can be done. Although, why someone would want us to see Lyra like this is str-"
  487. "It's not an illusion."
  488. >You're interruption breaks her train of thought before it could even being.
  489. >"W-What? How do you know?"
  490. "The smell."
  491. >"But..."
  492. >She seems unconvinced.
  493. >Dammit.
  494. >If she's this far into denial after seeing Lyra, there's no hope tha-
  495. >"I figured your place just smelled this bad."
  496. "Fuck you!"
  497. >An immediate, and reasonable reaction.
  498. >Is this seriously what people think of you?
  499. >Twilight's ears are plastered to the back of her head.
  500. >Her neck is moving oddly and some familiar sounds are accompanying it.
  501. >Oh God.
  502. >It's the hayburger.
  503. >Your floor is promptly covered in vomit.
  504. >She definitely lied about only eating a leftover hayburger.
  505. >"Ghk...hah..."
  506. >She tried to talk but only threw up again.
  507. >Fuck!
  508. >There's like, nine sandwiches worth of vomit on your floor.
  509. >Dammit, this was going to be a long day.
  510.
  511. >You usher Twilight back to the kitchen, being blatantly obvious as to keep her from looking into the living room.
  512. >On your way back to your room, you hear the sink running and some cabinets opening.
  513. >Twilight must be getting her some water and shit.
  514. >You are going to clean up her mess in your bedroom.
  515. >Jesus.
  516. >You thought Lyra smelled bad.
  517. >Lyra has nothing on Twilight’s “leftovers”.
  518. >You are engrossed in your activity, and your mind wanders.
  519. >Why did Lyra react that way when she saw Twilight?
  520. >Is there some bad blood between them?
  521. >Pretty sure you’ve seen them together in the market quite often.
  522. >Your reverie is interrupted by some voices.
  523. >Shit!
  524. >You’re a complete IDIOT to think that Twilight would stay put.
  525. >You rush back into the living room with the speed of kenyans.
  526. >Lyra is suspended in the air, a familiar purple aura surrounding her.
  527. “Twilight! Wait! She isn-”
  528. >”Shhhh!”
  529. >Twilight quickly silences you.
  530. >”I’m performing some quick observations around her body.”
  531. >You let out a sigh of relief.
  532. >”Did you think I was going to hurt her?”
  533. “Honestly, yeah. You were pretty messed up back there. I didn’t know how quick you’d come out of it.”
  534. >Her eyes close.
  535. >”Mental fortitude is something that I’ve been practicing for years. You never know when the unthinkable will happen. And if friends and loved ones are in danger when such a psychological blow hits, you have to be able to be clear minded and level headed to make the right decisions to protect them.”
  536. >She opens her eyes and looks to Lyra’s floating form.
  537. >”I guess…I just never expected anything like this.”
  538. “It’s definitely something I’d never expect to see in your world.”
  539. >Twilight raises an eyebrow towards you.
  540. >”Our world?”
  541. “Well, yeah. World I come from? Pretty messed up place. Definitely could see something like this. Maybe not in person, but definitely through someone’s imagination.”
  542. >”Oh…”
  543. >She’s quiet and back to having her eyes closed.
  544. >”...I’m sorry.”
  545. “For what?”
  546. >”That you had to live in such a place.”
  547. “Nah, don’t worry about it. I’m not the one who needs help here anyway.”
  548. >Both of you turn your eyes back to Lyra.
  549. >Lyra hasn’t moved since you arrived in the living room.
  550. >This is the most calm you have seen her since she arrived.
  551. >Even more so than when she sleeps.
  552. >You sit and watch Twilight work.
  553. >It’s in this moment that you realize just how useless you really are in this situation.
  554. >tfw no magic
  555. >tfw no medical knowledge
  556. >tfw no mechanical or electrical knowledge
  557. >tfw you can’t help your friends
  558. >Shit hurts, man.
  559. >An hour or more has passed before you see Lyra gently lowered back to the ground.
  560. >Twilight sighs and looks back to you.
  561. >Lyra is looking between the both of you.
  562. “So?”
  563. >”I’ll be frank. There’s powerful magic at work here. Some of it, I know about. The rest, it’s all still a mystery to me.”
  564. “Can you fix it?”
  565. >Twilight makes a pained expression.
  566. >”About that…I would need a lot more time to examine her properly. Again, this was just a quick glance. If I was able to put her under a light hypnosis and dive into her mind a bit more, I could probably get a closer answer for you.”
  567. “So…as of right now, there’s no way to fix it?”
  568. >”I’m afraid that I can’t see a way to. The reason being, the magic behind this is obviously screwing with my results. If any doctor were to examine her through magic, they would say she’s fine. In peak health, as a matter of fact.”
  569. >No way.
  570. “Do you have any idea who could have done this?”
  571. >”That’s what bothers me the most about this.”
  572. >Twilight fidgeted uncomfortably.
  573. >”This...magic that I can’t figure out? It’s not of this world.”
  574.
  575. >Dammit.
  576. >This was more than you signed up for.
  577. >But you wanted to see this through.
  578. >You wanted to see Lyra whole again.
  579. >But magic from another world?
  580. >Aliens?
  581. >That’s too much.
  582. >...
  583. >You realize how stupid you sound, considering you are on an alien planet right now.
  584. >And you are an alien to these p0nies.
  585. >Ok, so maybe it’s not that farfetched.
  586. >I mean, you showed up through a weird portal yourself.
  587. >Walked down an alley, ended up in the Everfree.
  588. >Close to 20 feet above it, actually.
  589. >Thank God there were some limbs and shit to slow your fall.
  590. >Still hurt, though.
  591. >And probably the most luck of all, you were found by the zebra, Zecora.
  592. >theasswasfat.jpg
  593. >But you weren’t into p0nies and the like back then, though.
  594. >Hey, tastes can change fast when you find out that you’re not going to see your species for the rest of your life.
  595. >Reflecting, you’ve realized that you’ve nearly gone full native.
  596. >You eat p0ny food, play p0ny games, work alongside p0nies, talk with p0nies on a normal basis, pursue physical and romantic relationship with p0nies…
  597. >Yup, you’re full native.
  598. >The only shred of respect you have for yourself is the fact that you haven’t started using their phrases and weird sayings.
  599. >Horseapples.
  600. >What the fuck does that even mean?
  601. >You know there is such thing as a “horse apple”, but as a swear?
  602. >Whatever.
  603. >You’ve spent too long sitting in your living room floor contemplating to yourself.
  604. >Twilight is busy writing things down in a notebook.
  605. >About time she upgraded from parchment.
  606. >Lyra is sitting close to you, head down, machines humming slightly unsteady.
  607. >Really sucks that she can’t lie down comfortably.
  608. >Would be totally boss to have her head in your lap right now while you rubbed her back.
  609. >...
  610. >Yeah, you’ll own up to that.
  611. >You crushed on Lyra pretty hard back then.
  612. >Looks like the feelings are being rekindled.
  613. >You look towards Lyra, and she does the same, the sounds of Twilight’s scribbles and mumbling miles away.
  614. >Staring into the lens of the odd contraption that is now her head, you can almost imagine those golden orbs again.
  615. >You give a little smile.
  616. >Her body seems to relax and the humming evens out to a dull drone.
  617. >Never noticed how tense she really was.
  618. >Ignoring what is probably one of the most disgusting things you’ve ever felt, you scooch a little closer to her and rest your arm across her withers, pulling her to you slightly.
  619. >She takes the hint and rests her head on your shoulder, the whir of air the clicks of relays softly tickling your ears.
  620. >Yes.
  621. >It’s in this moment you decide that you are going to stick by this p0ny throughout this entire endeavor.
  622. >This much is all you can do for her.
  623. >You sigh and start to rub Lyra’s bony back.
  624. >May not be the head-in-lap scenario, but this works out.
  625. >”...Thank you.”
  626. >Lyra’s voice is soft and clear with the speaker probably next to your ear.
  627. >Still don’t know where her voice is actually coming from.
  628. “For what?”
  629. >”For taking me in.”
  630. >You’re not sure what to say.
  631. >You glance over to Twilight.
  632. >She’s still lost in the world of her notebook.
  633. >”This probably isn’t the best time, but I always had a thi-”
  634. >”AAAPFPFPFCHOOO!”
  635. >GODDAMNIT.
  636. >Twilight’s stupid-ass sneeze rocked the foundation of your house and interrupted a potentially revealing confession.
  637. >Bitch.
  638. >”Eh, heheheh...Sorry.”
  639. >She sheepishly looked back towards you and Lyra, eyes widening playfully.
  640. >”Well, looks like you two are getting comfortable” she smirks.
  641. >Fuck off, Twilight.
  642. >Cramping your style.
  643. >Lyra is quick to remove herself from you and hangs her head.
  644. >If it were possible, you are sure she’d be blushing.
  645. >You, on the other hand, are completely capable of blushing, and you feel like your ears are on fire.
  646. >Twilight laughs a little and clears her throat.
  647. >”So, I’ve come up with some theories that I’d like to test.”
  648. >Lyra has forgotten the embarrassment and is locked in on Twilight.
  649. >You on the other hand aren’t ready to give anyone eye contact.
  650. >Man the fuck up, faget.
  651. >”These will take a long time to test and it will take a lot out of both me and Lyra. We will take breaks between the testing to make sure that she’ll be able to recover from the exertion.”
  652. “Exertion?”
  653. >”Magical exertion. This is going to take quite a toll on me, so I can only imagine what Lyra is going to go through.”
  654. >Something piques your interest.
  655. “So wait. I thought that unicorns only used their magic through their horns.”
  656. >”That’s correct. What about it?”
  657. “Well, if you haven’t noticed, Lyra doesn’t have her horn anymore.”
  658. >You and Twilight look over to Lyra, who can’t decided which of you to look at, and settles once again for hanging her head.
  659. >”It’s a non-issue at this point. Lyra still has her magic tied within her. I can coax it out and use it to help me analyze her further than I was able to to earlier.”
  660. “So her magic is still there? That’s good, right?”
  661. >”Absolutely. That makes fixing…whatever this is that much more possible.”
  662. “This is great news, isn’t it Lyra?”
  663. >If you didn’t know that Lyra’s new head was affixed to her spine so well, you were certain it would have flown off.
  664. >”This is best news since you took me in! Ask her what we have to do next!”
  665. >She looks almost like an excited dog.
  666. >It’s adorable as fuck.
  667. >Except for the whole mutilation thing.
  668. >That kills the image pretty quick.
  669. >Hold up.
  670. >’Ask her’?
  671. >Twilight walks over and puts a hoof on your shoulder.
  672. >”Anon, you know she can’t talk, right?”
  673. >WAT
  674. >You are seriously confused now.
  675. “Uh, what? I’ve been talking to her since she got here.”
  676. >”Um...are you sure you’re not hallucinating? She hasn’t said a word to me and could only speak to me while I was scanning her earlier.”
  677. >Well, THAT’S got you thinking.
  678. >Are you hallucinating?
  679. >...’Please’...
  680. >...’Kill me’...
  681. >...That scream this morning...
  682. >No, you did not imagine that scream.
  683. “Alright, this might sound stupid, but I think only I can hear her.”
  684. >”I mean, it’s not completely impossible.”
  685. >Twilight turns to Lyra.
  686. >”Lyra, have you and Anonymous talked while in this condition?”
  687. >Lyra nods.
  688. >You feel a weight lifted from your shoulders.
  689. >Holy shit, you were actually worried that you imagined all of that shit.
  690. >”Well, that’s a new development. I’ll investigate that as well. Could prove to be a clue as to who did this...”
  691. >...
  692. >......
  693. “You aren-”
  694. >”No no no! I would never consider you capable of pulling something like this off!”
  695. >Twilight is frantic in assuring you of your own innocence.
  696. >It gets kinda quiet, save for Lyra’s messed up microwave.
  697. >Your stomach makes itself known with a loud growl.
  698. “Huh. Guess I haven’t eaten all day.”
  699. >Twilights stomach promptly follows.
  700. >”Neither have I.”
  701. “Well, it’s onl-”
  702. >You are stopped when you notice that the sun has almost set.
  703. >The day is gone.
  704. >”Well, let me get dinner for us. To make up for my awful reaction from earlier.”
  705. >And to make up for that fucking mess.
  706. >That you never finished cleaning up.
  707. >Shit.
  708. >Twilight starts to walk into the kitchen, but stops and turns to look at Lyra, then to you.
  709. >”Does-”
  710. “No, she doesn’t eat. I don’t know how it works.”
  711. >”Oh...Okay then.”
  712.
  713. >Twilight conjured up a quick meal.
  714. >It was decent.
  715. >You know she didn’t cook it because she can’t cook worth shit.
  716. >You don’t actually know that, but still, she doesn’t seem like she could if she tried.
  717. >You both ate with little conversation.
  718. >Twilight insisted that she stay over in case something happens with Lyra.
  719. >You do have a spare bedroom, but there’s no furniture in it.
  720. >Twilight remedied this by cheating and furnishing the room with teleportation.
  721. >Bed, blankets, pillows, night stand, clock, lamp (is that the Discord lamp?), and yes a bookshelf, complete with books on shit you couldn’t care less about.
  722. >You see her pick a book out before heading towards her bed, bidding you good-night.
  723. >You close the door and head to the living room to get Lyra tucked in.
  724. >While the sight of her innards still puts you off, it’s not as bad as earlier.
  725. >You only do half-gag things now.
  726. >They are much easier to hide from Lyra so you don’t hurt her feelings.
  727. >You quickly get a blanket to cover her with, tuck her in on the couch, and head for the hall after a few pats on her side.
  728. >”Hey.”
  729. >God.
  730. >You just want to sleep.
  731. “What’s up?”
  732. >”...Nothing. Thanks again, for letting me stay here.”
  733. “...Yeah. No problem…”
  734. >Man, this is awkward.
  735. >If only she could have finished what she was saying earlier.
  736. >Hell, that might make it more awkward.
  737. >You don’t know.
  738. “...Well, good-night, Lyra.”
  739. >”Good-night, Anonymous.”
  740. “Sweet dreams.”
  741. >You actually mean that.
  742. >Whatever she was dreaming about last night/this morning must have been horrible.
  743. >You step back into the hall, heading to your bedroom.
  744. >Twilight’s door is open a little.
  745. >Curiosity gets you and you peer inside.
  746. >She’s lying stomach down on her bed, back facing you, rear legs stretched and spread lightly behind her, causing dat flank to plump up a bit.
  747. >U-Unf.
  748. >She keeps her tail low and flared wide to hide her bits.
  749. >Damn she’s good.
  750. >Her forelegs are propping her up a little as she reads her book that sits on her pillow, creating a nice little arch in her back that her wings seem to accent.
  751. >GYAT DAYUM.
  752. >You’ve seen some nice fillies around town, but none can compare to this purple pleasure.
  753. >Of course, you’ve got no chance with her.
  754. >Besides, you just started to rekindle what you had for Lyra.
  755. >...
