  1. "/Fuck/," Taako groans underneath him, and for a moment Kravitz has the audacity to feel a little smug about it, before he continues, "we used the last condom this morning… reckon IGA Express sells any?"
  2.
  3. Kravitz sits up, adjusts his chinos where they've runched against the deck chair he's straddling. "I know the Coles servo does, but that's a few hundred meters. Can you last that long?"
  4.
  5. "Cheeky!" Taako slaps him lightly on the cheek, and Kravitz can't say it turns him off at all. "I last /weeks/ when you fly out for work, thank you very fucking muchly. Just because I cornered you in the back yard for some poolside makeouts doesn't mean I'm /needy/."
  6.
  7. Kravitz knows better than to mention how it was /Taako/ who brought up being needy. He stands, awkward for a long moment on account of the blood in his dick and the uncomfortable sitting position, and shuffles into his thongs. "Let's take a nice leisurely stroll to the servo then, hey?"
  8.
  9. "Not /too/ leisurely…" Taako slips on his Havanas and falls into step, taking Kravitz's hand once they've closed the side gate behind them. They make it to the first roundabout on their street, the one with the little park pedestrian turnoff, before his grip tightens and Kravitz is dragged into the shade of the paperbarks.
  10.
  11. "Okay, okay, /fuck you/, I change my mind, /dickhead/, just--" Taako cuts himself off with a grumpy little huff, which makes Kravitz's arms tingle with the want to hold him until he does it, wrapping his hands around Taako's waist and pressing gently until he's backed up against the soft bark of a tree.
  12.
  13. "'S okay. I'll take care of you." Kravitz whispers when he says it, more out of shyness than any real desire to be sexy, but it still makes Taako shiver. He shivers harder still when Kravitz drops to his knees amongst the mulch and lifts his skirt, some flimsy, summery thing he's sure Taako knicked from Kmart. He's wet when he pulls his underwear down too, /gorgeous/ with the shine of it in the sun, and Kravitz is more eager to taste him than he is afraid to be caught.
  14.
  15. He's heady and sweet and bitter, and the familiar taste of him combined with the smell of hot earth and eucalyptus makes Kravitz's head feel light. Taako keeps as quiet as he can, which isn't very, and the cicada songs rise and crescendo along with him as Kravitz slips two fingers in his dripping heat. It's surreal, being gone and coming back every time, how Taako /fits/ him, how he never forgets the rhythm of how best to get him off. It doesn't take long until Taako's hands are fisted in Kravitz's dreads and the paperbark, leg hiked high over Kravitz's shoulder as he tenses and sobs and rocks down onto his face with shaking thighs.
  16.
  17. Kravitz sits back on his calves after a moment, lets Taako compose himself. His skin looks reddened in that way that promises a ripe sunburn tomorrow, and his hair's got strands of bark in it, and he's so beautiful that Kravitz almost wants to quit FIFO right now, stay home with him every day.
  18.
  19. "Okay, okay. I'm good. I'm getting an ice block once we get to Coles but I'm good." Taako brushes his frizzing hair behind his ears and takes Kravitz's hand again, warmer and sweatier now by far, but relaxed, content.
  20.
  21. "Yeah," Kravitz says, suddenly aware of the parch in his mouth, "'s a good day for it."
  22.
  23. All around them, the cicadas throw their buzzing voices from the scrub. In the end, they take the long way around.
