  8. Hi there,
  9.
  10. Thanks for such a quick and thorough reply.
  11.
  12. First, I'd like to point one particular thing out. It's not my newest guide that's so similar. Seasonal guides have been a thing for [quite some time](https://imgur.com/a/nnbQ7), and if anything, the earliest ones are even more similar. [This one](https://i.imgur.com/aQ5vRsF.jpg) is pretty old as well.
  13.
  14. I'm not going to comment on vrv.co as it's not even available in my country, so unless that's crucial let's ignore this matter entirely.
  15.
  16. What irks me in particular is
  17.
  18. > Obviously, these kinds of guides are nothing new
  19.
  20. Sure as hell anime charts have been a thing for quite some time now. But if you make a chart that is:
  21.
  22. * titled "X's guide to [Season] anime"
  23. * separated into titled sections with colorful backgrounds (as opposed to black or single-coloured charts from /a/)
  24. * using Futura
  25. * consisting of snappy, humorous summaries of shows
  26.
  27. you're not making yet another chart design, you're copying a very peculiar chart design. You even said that yourself, I'm very thankful you're not hiding behind "it's just a coincidence" excuse. Just please don't try to say "these kinds of guides are nothing new", because you've willingly copied a design that WAS new.
  28.
  29.
  30. > I don't want you to feel like we're stepping on your toes or trying to take your thing.
  31.
  32. Well that's too bad, because you've just took a thing that I've designed and used it for your commercial purposes, advertising anime from your catalogue. My charts are not tied to any particular streaming service, and by piggybacking on that format, you're kind of waltzing into the spotlight. It's not improbable to expect that some anime newbs will mistake your charts for mine, it already happened in the Reddit comments. Your graphic will surely have a signifcant reach due to your Facebook, Twitter and overall online presence - but these were supposed to be charts of all anime airing in Japan right now, not Crunchyroll advertisements.
  33.
  34. > I'm going to amend the article with a link to your work at the end, if you're comfortable with that, and I'd love to feature your seasonal guides on Crunchyroll News going forward with your permission.
  35.
  36. For now, link to my [imgur album](https://lukeatlook.imgur.com/), maybe even [the album with the past seasonal charts](https://imgur.com/a/nnbQ7) or just mention my nickname. Please do not link to the fanpage AnimePalette (name found in the corners), I have never and do not intend to ever post that in a clickable format, this is only meant for the people really looking for a form of contact who type in the link themselves, I do not have the time or will to deal with bigger community traffic.
  37.
  38. As for what we do next, collaboration is all I want. If you asked me, I'd give you my blessing to do whatever as long as it wasn't TOO similar, which it kinda is :stuck_out_tongue:
  39.
  40. If you want to feature my guides, please be wary that I review anime indiscriminately. If you want me to highlight which one are available on Crunchyroll, be wary I'll also mark all the other streaming services (lucky for you it's not the previous season, where both top 2 anime I recommended were on Anime Strike).
  41. Imgur
  42. > These are both the least I can do
  43.
  44. Be careful what you say... if I were to get a wish for you to do anything for me, i'd ask for one simple thing:
  45.
  46. ...to put me in charge (in the comitee or whatever) of your next Anime Awards. The first edition left much to be desired, and guess what, you're talking to the guy who organized [Reddit's 2016 Anime Awards](http://i.imgur.com/VVqttiK.jpg) - here's the [math and process behind it](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/5saqbp/ranime_awards_2016_and_the_winners_are/). Sure, it was overcomplicated as hell, but now we know what worked and what didn't, and the results were more... Diverse and agreeable. Turns out having people who watched all the candidates pick the winners is a good idea :P
  47.
  48. On a serious note, thanks again for replying and looking forward to sorting this issue out.
