- Fem vs Amasian
- Sakamoto vs Samus
- R1
- - Sakamoto can hit through concrete, has really good aim/some piercing and a taser. Very bullet timing
- - Good lifting, hits through walls. Bullet timing.
- R2
- - Sakamoto is evil and will attack Samus' vitals. Can also BFR her by punching her out of a train.
- - Samus shoots Sakamoto while he's running at her. She also weighs a lot and Sakamoto's weapons aren't good.
- R3
- - Sakamoto will use his knife, can dodge while moving or in complex situations. Samus has no fingernails and can't remove a sticker.
- - Sakamoto will take several seconds to reach Samus and is also weaker than her.
- R4
- - Samus can't grapple Sakamoto because Sakamoto has better grip, Sakamoto is comparable to Samus in striking. Sakamoto is faster than Samus. Repeat of prior arguments.
- - Sakamoto has antifeats vs projectiles, Samus' shots do more damage than that. Sak's grip is irrelevant to breaking a grab.
- Sakamoto is functionally either as skilled as Mr. Miyagi or he has eyeballs that see at 20 million frames per second. Catching a bullet with chopsticks is way, way beyond all of Samus' speed feats. I buy that Sakamoto can't effectively move forwards at super high speeds while Samus is shooting at him, but I'm also not really sure it matters. Samus' shots will never hit Sakamoto. He could walk towards her and be fine.
- I don't buy that Sakamoto can break out of Samus grappling him. Samus' lifting feats are just outright better than Sakamoto's. I'm not sure what the argument about grip was supposed to prove. How is he going to grip his way out of being grabbed? Not really sure if this matters, though. Samus doesn't disable both arms in her scan, and Sakamoto can still hit her with his other hand.
- On that topic, both parties concede that Sakamoto and Samus can hurt each other some vaguely appropriate amount with strikes. Once Sakamoto is in range the fight is basically argued as just a beatdown with minor variations on both ends. Sakamoto is still way faster than Samus though so he just punches her a bunch and doesn't get hit and wins.
- As far as "this could have been argued better" goes, I think Amasian should've pushed more that Sakamoto is omega fast rather than spending a bunch of time arguing about whether or not he could run forwards while dodging. I think Fem should have also argued Sakamoto isn't strong or durable instead of him being weak to heat/cold and grabbable.
- Shang-Chi vs Origin
- R1
- - Kicks people through concrete, world's fakest 5x10 foot feat, very bullet timing with piercing and electricity.
- - I've read Origin.
- R2
- - Shang knows 9 billion martial arts and can sense robots from 20 miles away. He's very skilled at fighting stronger opponents.
- - Origin has funky anatomy that makes skill ineffective, is super precise, and can move through the air.
- R3
- - Shang disarms Origin and blocks strikes with his gauntlets. Counters airsteps with tree jumps. He also has faster travel speed and his bullet catch is better. Shang beats Origin to death with his fists and superior H2H skill.
- - Sensing Origin is a robot doesn't tell Shang anything about what Origin does. Origin's piercing breaks Shang's sword and gauntlets. Origin bullet times from closer than Shang does, and his air steps are more complex than the tree hopping scan. Shang's skill is against animals or otherwise bad opponents.
- R4
- - Shang can fight people faster than himself. Shang can amp his weapons and body with chi. Shang can redirect foes and moves fast.
- - Origin slices through super bullet resistant material. Origin is very strong and has strange anatomy. Shang has to adjust to faster opponents. Origin has a giant calculator brain.
- I have no clue what Shang sensing Origin is a robot is supposed to prove aside from maybe establishing precedent that he'd be more brutal or expect something weird. I don't really care about the former, and the latter doesn't really help much. He'll expect something "weird", but it's not like knowing what a robot is will tell him what Origin can do aside from "presumably be superhuman".
- I do think Shang has better striking (but worse lifting) than Origin. I don't think he kills Origin in a single punch or anything ludicrous like that, but Shang just pummeling Origin is definite wincon. As far as travel speed goes, the 60 km/h feat is obviously better than the jaguar feat. Jaguars don't instantly accelerate to top speed, and even if they did Origin is out speeding his target by flexing his back muscles against the ground. I can't imagine a way he would end up running slower than "a big cat".
- My position on swords is basically:
- * Shang can't break Origin's sword (the sword being kept in his arm limits his angle of motion but clearly doesn't stop him from moving his arm in any direction)
- * Shang can't disarm Origin's sword (all the disarming scans were against characters slower and dumber than Origin while also in a non-intense-combat context)
- * Shang's gauntlets can't block Origin's sword (his sword maybe could)
- This leaves the fight at "can Shang beat Origin in a swordfight". Origin is evidently way faster than Shang in processing speed. He also fights really weirdly, and I don't think Shang's skill scans show him going up against characters like Origin. Even if he can anticipate Origin's next move, there's nothing stopping Origin from just reacting to his anticipation. Scans were shown to demonstrate Shang is able to keep up with faster opponents, but faster by how much? Even granting Shang can accommodate Origin's speed, the scans of him going up against fast opponents still opens with him being tagged.
- I would be open to the idea that Origin's first strike doesn't necessarily kill Shang, but then we get into Shang being human and tiring whereas Origin doesn't.
- I'm giving this one to Origin.
- Scorpion vs Zazie
- R1
- - Scorpion can crater stone, has really good bullet timing/teleportation, and virtually limitless piercing.
- - Zazie can crack concrete/punch through metal, has a ton of weapons that are all Super, and is also a really good bullet timer.
- R2
- - Scorpion teleports into range and mogs Zazie with punches and knives pkchew.
- - Scorpion has no combat speed feats and just gets shot at Zazie until he dies.
- R3
- - Scorpion has 4 ms teleporting and 1 frame strikes (or less). Zazie only dodges in short-range.
- - Scorpion is slow and has obvious teleportation.
- R4
- - Scorpion teleports fast and goes for the head.
- - No he doesn't.
- This was definitely the shortest of the rounds. Neither party really argued physical striking so I'll just kind of ignore it. It doesn't matter anyways. Both parties basically one-shot.
- Scorpion's teleportation clearly has a lag to it. Even in the scans provided there's still several instances of characters pre-empting his teleports and moving to intercept them. "Can strike in a frame" is basically a speed killer for this match.
- Zazie shoots Scorpion and then turns around and shoots him again when Scorpion appears behind them. Zazie wins.
- (I would've argued that Zazie has bad senses or something)
- Fem wins 2-1.
