- Merlin, now tired of Arthur breaking swords in people’s spines, takes him to the Lady of the Lake and goes "Here. Magic, unbreakable sword. The scabbard keeps you from dying. Let's see you break this!" He hands Arthur this magnificent sword that glows like fire. A dragon adorns the hilt and a cross on the pommel. The blade says “Take me up” on one side and “Cast me away” on the other.
