  5. >As expected of Zuikaku senpai!
  6. >Deliberately missing the target in order to relieve her kouhai of tension! [I am deeply moved!]
  7. >[Really~just now.......?]
  8. >I really can't focus when I'm being stared at like that~
  9.
  10. >Senpai! From here on out, please bestow upon me your instruction and discipline!
  11. >Mmm....mmmm? I feel like I already gave you a lesson yesterday....
  12. >Yes! I'll be in your care tomorrow and the day after!!
  13. >Carrier dorms
  14. >Unryuu nee-sama
  15. >What's going on? Is Katsuragi out training today as well?
  16. >Katsuragi?
  17. >Can't you see the archery range clearly from there?
  18. >I haven't been looking at the archery range.
  19. >Then what are you looking at...
  20.
  21. >Clouds. I'm looking at the clouds.
  22. >Eh...
  23. >Were you staring at clouds for the last hour?
  24. >Mmm....
  25. >How do you have so much time to waste?!
  26. >[sigh] well, Unryuu nee-sama's Shikigami are finished.
  27. >Thanks a lot.
  28. >Please take care of your own things!
  29. >Don't wanna...it's so annoying.
  30. >[how much would I have to make to be enough under these circumstances?]
  31. >That Katsuragi, she doesn't seem to know how to use Shikigami.
  32.
  33. >When I first saw it, I was quite shocked, seeing her using a bow.
  34. >and not knowing how to fight with Shikigami. What is there for us to teach her, then?
  35. >honestly...that's fine too.
  36. >It's fine as long as Katsuragi likes it.
  37. >Plus now we can avoid the hassle of teaching her. [I'm glad.]
  38. >[How could you~]
  39. >Really now! Nee-sama never thinks about Katsuragi! Compared to her real sister, isn't Zuikaku more reliable?
  40. >Much better! Please act like an older sister already!
  41. >....like an older sister.
  42. >How do you do that...?
  43.
  44. >Well...
  45. >You could comb her hair and make it all pretty, and then make all kinds of tasty foods for her....
  46. >Isn't this what Amagi does for me as a younger sister?
  47. >If I do that, aren't I the younger sister?
  48. >Now that you said that [Really now!]
  49. >What actually does being like an older sister truly entail? For someone who has never had her older sister act like an older sister to like Amagi, it's impossible to understand....
  50. >I'd like some tea, could you heat up some water for me?
  51. >Just press the button and it'll heat up on its own.
  52. >There's no water inside. [help me refill it.]
  53. >Get it yourself, please!
  54. >Before Amagi came, how did nee-sama live this kind of lifestyle?!
  55. >[she was cared for by this fellow-->]
  56. >I agree with Unryuu-nee. Even if we're of the same class, it's not a problem if we fight in different ways.
  57.
  58. >I do hope that child can
  59. >freely
  60. >grow as she wishes.
  61. >It's just....
  62. >It kind of feels a little lonesome.
  63. >to be able to meet her should already be more than enough. I sure am capricious...
  64. >[Zuikaku-senpai...]
  65.
  66. >[W-well, if Katsuragi wants someone to be her mentor,]
  67. >[Why not find your own sisters?]
  68. >[I go to Shoukaku-nee for help as well...]
  69. >[I just want Senpai to teach me~!]
  70. >[tch--]
  71. >Ah
  72. >[unryuu nee-san (note: I don't know if nee-san is the correct suffice, since Katsuragi never canonically mentions unryuu in her lines)...]
  73. >[I'll go and ask unryuu nee-san...]
  74. >Ehh, I won't after all.
  75.
  76. >[Even if I talk to Unryuu, she doesn't respond much.]
  77. >[SHe always seems like she's contemplating something...]
  78. >It's a little awkward...
  79. >[cotton candy]
  80. >[In reality, she really wasn't thinking of anything complicated.]
  81. >Since you want to remodel
  82. >You want a way to quickly raise your level?
  83. >Is there something you need really fast?
  84. >[we haven't been remodeled yet either]
  85. >Gehh....welll
  86. >Ahh--...well, there are lots of different ways, after all...
  87.
  88. >Sorry, I still have a pile of clothes tow ash....could we talk about this later?
  89. >[^ almost all these belong to the elder sister]
  90. >I-I'm really sorry! Trying to strike up a conversation while you're busy.
  91. >Oh yes!
  92. >This is a good chance to get the two to get a little closer.
  93. >Why don't you ask Unryuu nee-sama?
  94. >....mm
  95. >Does Katsuragi have any clothes she'd like me to wash as well?
  96. >It's fine.
  97. >Living as a group means you ought to take care of your own things!
  98. >Of course, there are shipgirls who do nothing but laze around as well...
  99. >That's fine.
  100. >You do you.
  101.
  102. >This situation isn't too great....
  103. >It's almost a little....
  104. >well, it's pretty hard to be a Senpai.
  105. >It's bad if you're not constantly setting a good example, and you need to have a Senpai's air. >Honestly it's exactly because I'm a senpai
  106. >that when I'm worshiped or overly praised, it feels a little nauseating.
  107. >It was a little better being constantly lectured.
  108. >She wants to come with me on the next operation...that's what Katsuragi said...
  109.
  110. >Before the operation starts, I'll definitely have remodeled.
  111. >No matter what, please bring me along--
  112. >That child just wants to rush into battle and pull her weight as soon as possible with all her heart and soul.
  113. >Even when there clearly remains so much that should be done.
  114. >Watching it, it's a little worrying.
  115. >[it's like seeing myself back then]
  116. >Something this important...can't be decided based on friendships or relationships. >And I'm not so strong that I can protect her.
  117. >Moreover, when the decisive battle comes,
  118. >I definitely
  119.
  120. >Want to be
  121. >with Shoukaku-nee!
  122. >[Zuikaku....]
  123. >So...even if I have to apologize to Katsuragi--
  124. >I will try to have a talk with Katsuragi so that she doesn't bother you so much.
  125. >....alright?
  126. >[Well...] try not to hurt her feelings. Let her down easy, if you will. Then again, it should be fine if it's Shoukaku-nee.
  127. >Of course, I know what I'm doing. Trust me!
  128.
  129. >This operation
  130. >the one who will be deploying with Zuikaku will be I.
  131. >...Is that so.
  132. >Well, it's just her habit. It'll be better if I'm by her side.
  133. >Is Shoukaku-nee speaking well for me...?
  134. >Katsuragi...
  135. >There's too big a difference in level between you and Zuikaku.
  136. >You haven't remodeled yet, right?
  137. >That'll be fixed soon!
  138. >How soon is soon?
  139. >Well.........
  140. >Moreover, your remodel requires a blueprint. Have you discussed this with the admiral?
  141. >....well...not yet....
  142. >That's not alright at all.
  143. >To take a child like this to battle, an agreement like this....don't you feel that this is a huge burden for Zuikaku to bear?
  144. >[eh?!!!]
  145.
  146. >Shoukaku-nee, that's a little too far. No matter what, you shouldn't go that far!
  147. >It's fine.
  148. >Normally everyone calls me "soft and fluffy", so I used my usual soft and fluffy voice to tell her.
  149. >[They're talking about your appearance and temperament!]
  150. >I told you to be a bit more tactful--!
  151. >However, I haven't said anything wrong.
  152. >Even so....
  153. >There has to be a better way to say it!
  154. >So that's how it is...I....
  155. >...rry.
  156.
  157. >Sorry.
  158. >I've been causing trouble for you without me knowing. I--
  159. >perhaps I should go apologize after all....
  160. >Shoukaku-nee, it's alright.
  161. >This is fine.
  162. >I, too
  163.
  164. >Was constantly and ruthlessly criticized by that person endlessly, up until now.
  165. >[Katsuragi][from now on]
  166. >[use that bitterness to propel you forwards!]
  167. >[Shoukaku-nee...did she, for my sake]
  168. >[cast herself as the villain this time around...?]
  169. >[sorry.]
  170. >I need to be a better Senpai as well.
  171. >[grasp]
  172.
  173. >Fleet Exercises/PvP?
  174. >It's tomorrow at noon. Don't be forgettin' it this time around, alright?
  175. >Dunno.
  176. >Don't you brush me off wit' a "dunno."
  177. >I'm won't be going. I'll suddenly get a stomachache or something that requires rest.
  178. >So who appointed you the stomachache oracle? [you just wanna slack off]
  179. >Either way, I already made the appointment.
  180. >You'd better be there tomorrow!
  181. >What a drag...
  182. >I just happen to have used up all my shikigami....and more importantly, Amagi's gone off on expedition....
  183. >What can i do before tomorrow....
  184. >Should I do it myself?
  185. >[Babby's first Shikigami][Unryuu-model 1st Ship type][Easy! Cut according to the dotted line and you have a ready-made Shikigami!]
  186. >Ehhh, it's too annoying.
  187. >I'll need to find someone...to take my place...
  188.
  189. >Sorry
  190. >[tears....?]
  191. >Do you want to...talk with me a little?
  192. >Doonnee--!!
  193.
  194. >Don't they say that you can't use them if you don't make them yourself?
  195. >For a well-skilled* onee-san, it isn't an issue.
  196. >[*well-skilled in the electric pot]
  197. >Unryuu nee-san is amazing!!
  198. >This is Amagi nee-san's
  199. >Compared to Unryuu nee-san, the wings are a little different, huh.
  200. >And you?
  201. >Does Katsuragi not have shikigami?
  202.
  203. >I, uh, don't know how to use them....it's already tough enough using a bow.
  204. >I'm still not perfect with the bow either.
  205. >It's fine, you have your way of doing things.
  206. >It's just...a little, according to Amagi
  207. >A little lonely.
  208. >[I didn't know] [that Amagi nee-san was thinking of this kind of thing.]
  209. >Hey
  210. >Tomorrow, why don't you take my place at the fleet exercise?
  211. >I wanna slack off!
  212. >Uuuehhhhh?!
  213.
  214. >No way no way! For me to replace Unryuu nee-san is definitely impossible!
  215. >Why?
  216. >...because I'm really weak.
  217. >No such thing. Compared to me, you've already put in more than enough work.
  218. >There's a huge difference in training level. I haven't even remodeled, and I don't know when I can remodel.
  219. >Like this, I can't go with anyone.
  220. >A Katsuragi like this...
  221. >W....what should I do, she's crying.
  222. >At this time, if I could be a little like an older sister...
  223.
  224. >I'll try patting her head.
  225. >W-what is it?!
  226. >What are you doing, Unryuu nee-san, it hurts!
  227. >My hair's all messed up now!
  228. >[dummy!!]
  229. >[Although I know how to do it...]
  230. >I couldn't judge my own strength...
  231. >How wierd.
  232. >[Unryuu nee-san, Amagi nee-san]
  233. >Even though we don't say much to each other normally, maybe
  234. >Make sure to make me pretty!
  235. >They, too, have expectations of me.
  236.
  237. >Well then, I'll do my best and show you Katsuragi's true strength!
  238. >Unryuu-nee, be a little gentler!
  239. >Like this?
  240. >Owwww!
  241. >Sorry, unryuu nee-sama, I forgot to tell you about the coming exercise....
  242. >(Katsuragi ) went
  243. >Eh, went?
  244. >And what about these Shikigami?
  245. >(Katsuragi) Made them.
  246. >Nee-sama! You're finally
  247. >taking care of your own affairs!
  248. >Unryuu nee-san!
  249.
  250. >I just took your place at the exercise!
  251. >Unryuu was #1 today as well.
  252. >Eh? When did Amagi nee-san return?
  253. >Katsuragi made all these Shikigami! [I'm really good at this, right?]
  254. >Nee-sama!!!!
  255. >[now she's extending her claws towards Katsuragi]
  256. >I was just respecting this child's efforts...
  257. >[what--][the--][heck--]
  258.
  259. >Yestaday I thought for sure I was askin' Unryuu to come. So why are you here?
  260. >[how many times has it been?]
  261. >[Did she get a stomachache or sometin' again?]
  262. >Well, Unryuu nee-san is really frail and sickly.
  263. >Yeah okay, she ate three buckits of curry (in small text: Hiei's) this mornin'
  264. >Fuhgeddit, let's get ready.
  265. >Ryuujou-san
  266. >Please teach me about Onymodo
  267. >Katsuragi, aint'cha one of those bow and arrow folks?
  268. >That's how it is right now.
  269. >But if I get permission to remodel, I want to try changing up my fighting style this tiem around.
  270. >This is....
  271. >my concept map of how it'll work.
  272. >So yer' stickin' a shikigami to the arrowhed and then launching independently wit' the bow, huh.
  273. >Although I am aware it'll be very difficult, even so...
  274.
  275. >Katsuragi still wants to use both the bow and the Shikigami
  276. >and take them into battle.
  277. >Interestin'.
  278. >[really though] why don't'cha just ask your sister~
  279. >Ryuujou-san's the best at teaching, that's what Unryuu nee-san said.
  280. >Haahhh?!
  281. >Tryin' to shlep me into something annoying again....
  282. >Well I guess it can't be helped.
  283.
  284. >Zuikaku-senpai, in the end, I have come to the conclusion that I must find my own way to fight.
  285. >If, one day
  286. >I could make these weapons my own, I would be glad
  287. >Lissen' up ya schmuck, Uncle Ryuujou here is a real balabusta ya know?!
  288. >That's fine!
  289. >so that I could soar with you in the same sky.
  290. >[ - end -]
  291.
  292. [Postface]
  293. >[Hi everyone, I'm takitaro. since last year's fall event I've wanted to write a doujin revolving around Unryuu, but I just couldn't figure out who Unryuu would be with. At first I figured I'd use characters who needed blueprints/medals or other Onmyodo light carriers...but as I thought, the second sister and the third sister arrived. This unryuu story was the first time what I wanted to draw changed so quickly wwwww. A story about Unryuu before her sisters arrived, thinking back now, would be really hard to draw, as previously thought. It's due to Amagi and Katsuragi's arrivals and thoughts about how their personalities would interact that the horizons of my imagination could expand. Regarding the shikigami and Katsuragi's remodel, I based it on Kuro kuro's explanation, and then expanded it on my own before drawing it. Since I have zero understanding of actual onmyodo, I don't know whether charms and talismen made by others work on yourself (and whether there are any particular rituals and materials needed). At the same time, however, I feel that since Unryuu is a prodigy, that she could make the shikigami fly even if they were made out of supermarket flyers wwwwww.]
  294. >For those of you who were hoping for some Zuikaku-Katsuragi love in this doujin and yet witnessed the two put some distance between each other....sorry...to push her aside for now is also Zuikaku's way of showing her love. I've considered plans to draw the interaction with a Katsuragi who has remodeled and trained herself. Well then, if everyone is happy and satisfied, I, too will be satisfied!]
  295. >[I hope i can remodel all the sisters soon... Takitaro]
