"Both of you...yes. I am waiting in the hope to be able to study together with everyone.
　私もそう思っています。学校へ来て初めて出来た私の友達……今みたいにもっと笑っていてほしいな。
I think so too. For the first time, I can come to school with my friend...I want you to be laughing more like now.

　そして学生寮前まで帰ってきましたが、駄目……やはり気になります。
And I was returning to the front of student dormitory, no good...I'm still worried.

　シリウス様は今頃ちゃんと休んでいらっしゃるかな？　お風呂に入っていらっしゃるかな？　ああ……気になります。
I wonder if Sirius-sama is resting properly now? Is he taking a bath (now)? Aa...I'm still worried.

　いつか絶対！　絶対……あのダイア荘に住んでみせます。すでに幾つかの荷物を運んで牽制をしているんですけど、あまり実を結んでいないようです。
It's sometime absolute! I should live in that Diamond cottage...absolutely. I have already carried some luggage and check already, it doesn't produce much result.
　次はお酒を持ち込んで、酔っ払った振りをして泊まるという作戦はどうでしょう？　でも未成年でお酒が飲めませんし、一回だけなら……ですがシリウス様に怒られそうです。
How about the strategy of bring sake next time and pretending to be drunk so I get to stay overnight? But, underage can't drink sake but only once if possible... but Sirius-sama is likely to scold me.

「エミリア？　ちょっと、いきなり考え込んでどうしたの？」
"Emilia? Hey, you brooded suddenly, what happened?" (Reese)

「あー……いつもの癖だから気にしないで。ほら姉ちゃん、足元危ないよ」
「……お酒って、どうかな？」
"Aaa...Please don't worry about it since it's her usual habit. Hey Nee-chan, your feet is dangerous." (Reus)

「何を言っているの貴方！？　しっかりして」
"You, what are you saying!?  Be steady." (Reese)

　その日、寮に帰ってベッドに入るまでリースに心配されてしまいました。
That day, I've been worried by Reese until I return to the dormitory and go to bed.

　私は健康なのに……どうしてだろう？
Nevertheless, I'm healthy...so I wonder why?

「なるほど……それは確かに問題ですね」
"I see...that's certainly a problem."
　早朝、少し早めに登校した俺はマグナ先生を訪ねて職員室を訪れていた。グレゴリ先生に聞かれたら困ると思いきや、マグナ先生は地位が上の人なので職員室は個室であった。流石は学校長の右腕、ここなら遠慮なく話す事が出来て助かった。
Early in the morning, I went to school just a little earlier than usual, to see Magna-sensei in teacher's room. I thought it would be a problem if Gregory-sensei heard it, but since Magna-sensei is having higher position, he has his own private room in teacher's room. As one would expect of headmaster's right hand man, I was saved because I could speak without reserve here.

話したのはリースが苛めに遭っている点と、カラリス組に招けば彼女の才能が目に見えて伸びるだろうという事だ。
I spoke of the aspect where Reese had bad experience of getting bullied, and if she is invited to Colorism class, it's the matter of her talent will be remarkably developed.

「というわけなので、学校長に話を通していただきたいのですが。あ、これ差し入れです。二つありますので、一つはマグナ先生がどうぞ」
"Since that's the reason, would you pass this talk to headmaster? Aa, this is insertion. Since I have two, one is for Magna-sensei please." (Sirius)

「困りますね、買収ですか？」
"I am troubled, is this bribery?" (Magna)

「いえいえ、純粋な差し入れです。私が作ったお菓子ですが従者達には好評なので、大人の意見も聞きたいなと思いまして」
"No no, this is purely insertion. It is the snack I made and it is popular among my servant, so I thought that I would like to hear opinion from adults." (Sirius)
　どう見ても買収に見えるが、俺はそのつもりはない。中身は昨日の余ったケーキだが、念の為マグナ先生に中身を見せて確認させておく。
No matter where it is seen, it still look like bribery but I have no such intention. The contents is yesterday's excess cake but I confirm it by showing the contents just to make sure Magna-sensei.

「ほう、初めて見るお菓子ですね。本来なら受け取らないのですが、これは興味があります。頂いておきましょう」
"Hou, this is the first time seeing such snacks, isn't it? If it's normal case, I won't accept it originally, but I'm interested in this. Let's accept this." (Magna)

今の俺の内面を表情に表せば、とんでもなく悪い顔をしているだろう。他の生徒から聞いたマグナ先生がお菓子好きという情報は正しかったようだし、後は時 間を待つばかりだ。重ねて言うがこれは買収ではなく、布石なのだ。さあ、様々な人間を魅了したケーキ爆弾を食らうがいい！
If I show the expression inside me, it would have been a bad face unexpectedly. The information about Magna-sensei who is a snack lover was heard from other students seems to be right and after that, I'll just wait until the (right) time. Let me say again, this is not a bribery but it's a preparation. Come now, eating a cake with liquor added had fascinated various human but it's fine!

「そうそう、貴方達は基礎が全く必要ないのはわかりますが、せめて授業を受ける振りだけはしておいてくださいね。幸い他の生徒は気付いていないようですが、周囲に良い影響を与えませんから」
"That's right, I understand that you guys don't need the foundation but please pretend to take the lesson at least. Fortunately, it seems other students haven't notice yet, because it doesn't give a good influence on the surroundings.

　昼休みになり食堂へ向かおうとしたら、マグナ先生ではなく学校長であるロードヴェル自身が現れた。勿論ヴィル先生に変装した姿でだ。
I try to go to the dining as soon as the lunch break, Magna-sensei doesn't appear but the headmaster, Rodwell instead. Of course, he is in disguised form, Vile-sensei.

「ああ、シリウス君。例のお話があるので一緒に来ていただけますか？」
"Aa, Sirius-kun. Because there is a talk as usual, so could you come together with me" (Rodwell/Vile)
　呼ばれたのですぐに行きたいが、二人はヴィル先生が学校長と知らないしな。連れていくわけにもいかないし、別の仕事を頼んでおくか。
Since I was called, I would like to go immediate, but these two (Reus and Emilia) don't know that Vile-sensei is the headmaster. The reason is to take someone (of lower status) along is not allowed and do you ask to work differently?

「シリウス様、お昼ご飯に行かれないのですか？」
"Sirius-sama, you can't eat lunch?" (Emilia)

「話が長くなりそうだから先に行っておいで。リースの様子も見てきてほしい」
"Because the talk maybe becomes long, go ahead first. I also want you to check Reese' condition." (Sirius)

「リース姉、今日も実技あるって昨日言ってたもんな」
"Reese-ane is having a practical lesson today, and yesterday she said also the same." (Reus)

「そうね、落ち込んでたら励ましてあげましょう。シリウス様、お先に失礼します」
(Oh well, if she's depressed, let's encourage her. Sirius-sama, I'll be leaving now." (Emilia)
　二人を見送りヴィル先生の元へ向かうと、彼は姉弟が去った方角を眺めながら優しげな微笑を浮かべていた。
While sending those two off in Vile-sensei direction, he was smiling a gentle smile while watching in the direction which siblings had left.

「励まして……ですか。彼女は良い知己を得ましたね」
"Encouragement...is it? She got a good acquaintance, doesn't she?" (Rodwell/Vile)

「リースを知っているんですか？」
" Do you know Reese?" (Sirius)

「少々縁がありましてね。それより例の話をしましょうか。私に付いてきてください」
"Just a little relation. Leaving that aside, should we have our usual talk? Please come with me." (Rodwell/Vile)
　ヴィル先生に先導され、先生達の個室が並ぶ廊下までやってきた。この廊下の突き当たりが学校長室で、その隣が今朝も行ったマグナ先生の個室だ。昼休みのせいか生徒と先生の姿がちらほら見えるので、堂々と学校長室に入るのも目立つよな。どうやって行くんだろう？
I was led by Vile-sensei and came to a hallway where private rooms for teachers are lined up. At the end of this hallways is the headmaster's room and the next is also a private room of Magna-sensei that I went this morning. Since it is lunch break, the figure of students and teachers can be seen here and there, and it's also conspicuous to enter a principal room openly and squarely. How will you go (about that)?

「話だけですから私の部屋に行く必要はありませんよ。マグナ先生の部屋へ行きましょう」
"Since it's only a talk, we don't have to go to my room. Let's go to Magna-sensei room." (Rodwell/Vile)

　学校長室にはどんな物があるか気になったが、そう言われては仕方あるまい。
I was interested in what kind of room is a principal room, but to say that, there wouldn't be a manner.
　事前に伝えてあったのだろう、マグナと書かれた扉をノックもせず入室すると、すでにマグナ先生が俺達の到着を待っていたようだ。
I wonder if this had been told in advance, we entered the room that says Magna without knocking and Magna-sensei seems to have been waiting for our arrival already.

俺とヴィル先生がテーブルを挟んで座り、マグナ先生がお茶を用意したところで本題へと突入した。
Vile sensei and I sat down around a table and Magna-sensei prepared tea while I rushed to the main point.

「さて……お話は聞かせてもらいました。どうやらリース君が色々と大変な目に遭われている様子ですね」
"Well...let's hear the story. Apparently, Reese-kun had various terrible  experience situation, isn't it?" (Rodwell/Vile)

「はい。彼女とは昨日初めて話をしたのですが、かなり心が疲弊しています。早急な対応が必要かと」
"Yes. I talked with her for the first time yesterday, but her mind is becoming exhausted. Whether an immediate action is necessary." (Sirius)
　俺の話を聞いてリースの心中を察したのだろう、ヴィル先生は頭を抱えるようにして溜息をついていた。
Listening to my story would had guessed Reese' condition, and Vile-sensei has sighed as holding his head.

「はぁ……全くあの男は。生徒を何だと思っているのか。嘆かわしい」
"Haa...good grief, that man is? What does he think a student is? It's terrible." (Rodwell/Vile)

「自分の駒としか思ってないのでしょうね。彼女もですが、彼に対しても対応すべきかと」
"He thinks nothing but his own piece, don't you agree? She also had it, but whether to correspond to him or not." (Sirius)

「わかっている。だが今はリース君だ。例の話はどうだったかな？」
"I know. But now is Reese-kun. How about the usual story?" (Rodwell/Vile)

「それが……拒否されました」
"That is...I refused." (Sirius)

「そうか。予想はしてたが呆れ果ててものも言えん」
"Is that so. It was expected but you can't be thoroughly dumbfounded and say it." (Magna)
　二人で話を進めているのでさっぱりわからない。何か行動は起こしたが、どうやら結果は芳しくなかったのはわかるが、とにかく説明を求む。
Talk is being proceeded with two people, so it isn't understood at all. What kind of action to be started but somehow or rather, I understand the result won't probably good but anyway explanation is requested.

「ああ、すまんね。実は君が考えたリース君をカラリス組へ入れる案だが、午前中にはグレゴリ先生に打診しておいたのだよ」
"Aa, I'm sorry. To tell you the truth, your considered a plan of bring Reese-kun to Colorless class, it was brought to Gregory-sensei this morning." (Magna)

「素早い対応、ありがとうございます」
"Thank you very much for your quick correspondence." (Sirius)

「うむ、あのお菓子がとても美味しかったので頑張らせてもらったよ。だが、先ほど聞いたようにあの男は拒否したようでな」
"Hmmm, I was allowed to work hard because that candy was very delicious. But, it seems the man refused as it was heard a short while ago." (Magna)

「お言葉ですが、グレゴリ先生にとって彼女に何の魅力があるのでしょう？　全ての初級が使えないと駄目だと言っているのに、彼女は一つ使えないんですよ？　なのに放したがらないとは矛盾していますね」
"This is just a word but what charm will she have for Gregory-sensei? He's saying it's hopeless if can't use all elementary level but that girl can't only do one you know? And yet he doesn't want to release her, it's inconsistent isn't it?" (Sirius)
　昨日話を聞いた時点から思っていたことだ。俺の予想だと、おそらく彼女の父親は相当な上級貴族ではないかと睨んでいる。グレゴリが有名貴族ばかり集めている上での想像だが、彼等は何か知っているようだ。
I was thinking from the time when the story was heard yesterday. If it is my expectation, I suppose whether her father is probably a considerable senior nobles or not. They seems to know that Gregory is gathering only famous nobles I guess.

「君は彼女についてどれほど知っていますか？」
"How much do you know about her?" (Rodwell/Vile)

「最近になって貴族になったとしか知りません。ですが私はそんなのはどうでもよいのです。彼女はエミリアの友達で、俺達の仲間だから助けたいだけなんです」
"I only didn't know she has become nobles recently. But other than that, I'm all good. She is Emilia's friend, I just want to help her because she's our acquaintance." (Sirius)

　ヴィル先生とマグナ先生が目線を交わし、二人はゆっくりと頷いた。
Vile-sensei and Magna-sensei exchanged look and two of them nodded slowly.

「私は彼女のとある秘密を知っています。複雑な問題なので知るべきだと思うのですが、聞きますか？」
"I know a certain secret of hers. I think that we should know because it is complex problem, would you like to hear it?" (Sirius)

「必要ありません。いずれ本人の口から聞こうと思ってますし、複雑な家庭も興味ありません。それより何か案があるのですね？」
"There is no need. Anyway, I imagine I can hear it from her mouth herself, and I am not interested in her household problem. Other than that, do you have any other thought?" (Magna)

「合格です。シリウス君の心意気、しかと理解しました。そんな君に私達から案を授けましょう。面倒なのが難点ですが、一つだけ確実な手がね」
"He passed. I understood Sirius-kun spirit. I'll grant your plan from us. It is a drawback to that cumbersome but it is another one reliable hand." (Rodwell/Vile)

「説明をお願いします」
"I'd like an explanation please." (Magna)
「最近では全く行ってませんが、先生が指名した生徒を交換できる試合『入替戦(トレード)』というのがあります」
"This doesn't go at all in recent years, it is a game where a teacher can nominate student in a match game called as [Trade]." (Rodwell/Vile)

　入替戦(トレード)。
[Trade]
　元々、とある先生が他の先生が受け持つ生徒に目を付け、自分の方がその生徒を上手く育てられると言い出したのが始まりと言われるらしい。
From the start, if a teacher has their eye on a student that was in charged by other teachers, it suggested that oneself could bring up the student well, seems to call first.
　先生同士だと年齢にばらつきが出て勝負にならない場合があるので、自身が育てた生徒同士で戦い、勝った方が指名した相手を引き抜けるというわけだ。
Since there is the case of unevenness comes out in age for teachers and there won't be a match, it will be a match between the students they raised, the one who won can pull the nominated student.

　なるほど、面倒だが勝てば確実にリースを引き込める話だ。
I see, it's troublesome but if win, it's certain that Reese can be pulled (into new class).

「ただ、双方受け入れないと駄目でしてね。グレゴリ先生がカラリス組の生徒を欲しがらなければ試合が出来ないのですよ」
"Nevertheless, unless both parties accepts, it will be pointless. If Gregory-sensei doesn't want a student of Colorist class, a match can't be done." (Rodwell/Vile)

「グレゴリ先生がカラリス組から欲しがる人材ですか。マーク君はありえそうですが、必要ならすでに自分の組に入れているでしょうし……」
"Does Gregory-sensei wants talented person from Colorist class? Mark-kun is plausible but if necessary, Mark would be kept in his class already..." (Sirius)

確かにマークは家柄も良いし、魔法の腕も立つ。だが彼の性格がグレゴリに合わないのだろう。もう面倒になってきたし、強行突破狙ってみるか？
Mark is certainly coming from good household and he's also pretty good at magic. But his character won't fit Gregory. This has already become troublesome and should I aim for force breakthrough?

「いっそ一方通行でどうですか？　生徒から袖の下を貰っているようですし、黒い噂多いんでしょう？」
"Rather, how about one-way traffic? It seems he has gotten bribed from a student and isn't there a lot of black rumour?" (Sirius)

「脅迫ときましたか。あまりよろしい手ではありませんね」
"Did you come with threat? That isn't a very good hand (as in a ploy), isn't?" (Magna)

「いえいえ、勿論話し合いですよ。ただ、机の上に不正書類等が落ちているだけです」
"No no, it is a discussion of course. However, the fraud official papers on top of the desk will be omitted." (Sirius)

「落ちているだけですか？」
"That is only to be omitted?" (Magna)

「ええ、落ちているだけです」
"Yes, that is only." (Sirius)
　ヴィル先生と見つめ合い、やがてにやりと互いに口元を歪ませた。交渉成立である。
I stared at Vile-sensei, before long, we were both made a distorted mouth with a broad grin.

「はぁ……本当に君は子供なのでしょうか。果たしてグレゴリ先生が私の話を聞いてくれるかどうか……」
"Haa...are you really a child? I wonder whether or not Gregory-sensei will listen to my talk..." (Magna)

「頑張ってくださいマグナ先生。あ、そういえば私のお菓子はどうでしたか？　あれはケーキと言うのですが」
"Please do your best, Magna-sensei. Aa, speaking of that, how was my confection? That's called a cake." (Sirius)

憂鬱そうなマグナ先生に俺が渡したケーキの感想を求めてみた。すると先ほどまでの憂鬱な顔が切り替わり、満面の笑みで俺の肩を掴んだ。おお、予想以上の凄い食い付きだ。
I tried to ask the thoughts of the cake which I handed (this morning) to Magna-sensei who seems gloomy. Then he switched that melancholy face until just now, and grabbed my shoulder with a big smile. Oo, it was more than amazing bite.

「あんなにふわふわで蕩けるような甘いあれがケーキですと！？　いえ、貴方の作った物ですから考えるだけ無駄ですね。とにかく、大変素晴らしい物でしたよ！　良ければまた作っていただきたいのですが」
" It melts because it's soft to that extent and it's sweet, that is a cake!? No, it's a waste to only think about what you have made. Anyway, that was very wonderful thing! When it's good, could you make for me again?" (Magna)

「ええ、いずれ。ところでマグナ先生はチーズは好きですか？」
"Yes, eventually. Anyway, do you like cheese, Magna-sensei?" (Sirius)

「チーズと言うと、あのガルガン商会が売り出し始めた食べ物ですか？　それなら先日食べましたが、とても美味しかったですね」
"When you say cheese, is that food from Galgan company began selling? Well, I ate the other day and it was very delicious." (Magna)

「そのチーズを使ったケーキを今度作ろうと思うんです。濃厚で甘酸っぱいケーキなんですが……試食しますか？」
"I think I'll make a cake with cheese this time. It's rich and is a bittersweet cake but...do you want to taste it?" (Sirius)

「是非！　お金が必要なら言ってください。貴方の言い値で払いましょう」
"Certainly! Please say if you need money. Let's pay by your asking price." (Magna)
　金貨十枚です……と言ってもポンと払いそうな勢いなんですけど。ここまで好きだとは予想外だったが、俺の布石はしっかり生きてくれたようだ。
It is ten gold coins...even if I say so, it's the energy that seems to make them pay without batting an eyelid. Althought it was unexpected to like it that far, but it seems I have live through my preparation tightly.

「試食ですからお金はいりません。ですが、リースの件がありますので、それを終らせないとケーキ作りに集中が……」
"Since it is sampling food, I don't need money. But, since there is a matter of Reese, if it isn't brought to end, my concentration in making cake is..." (Sirius)

「わかりました。早速グレゴリ先生と話してきましょう。学校長、後はお願いします！」
"Understood. I'll talk to Gregory-sensei right away. Headmaster, after this, please!" (Magna)

「任せておきなさい。面白くなってきましたよ」
"Just leave it to me. This has become interesting." (Rodwell/Vile)
　マグナ先生は歩いているのに、飛ぶような速さで部屋を出て行った。少しだけ顔を出して様子を見れば、物凄い勢いでグレゴリの扉をノックする光景が見えた。うん……あの勢いなら大丈夫かもしれない。
Even though Magna-sensei was walking, he went out of the room as fast as flies. If looking only a little at the state of his displayed face, a scene where knocking with terrible vigour at Gregory's door can be seen. Yeah...that vigour might be alright.

「さて、私も戻って書類を作るか。ところでシリウス君、入替戦(トレード)は生徒同士で戦うのだが、誰が戦うのか決めているのかね？」
"Well then, should I return and  prepare the documents too? By the way Sirius-kun, [Trade] is a fight (matches) between the students, has it been decided who will fight?" (Rodwell/Vile)

「もちろん私です。言いだしっぺが何もしないなんて、情けないのにも程があります」
"I did of course. There is a limit of being shameful if the one who initiate this does nothing." (Sirius)

「自信は……いや、あるからこそ受けたわけか。手伝いはいらないかね？」
"Such confidence...No, for sure, is it because there is reason to get? Don't you need help?" (Rodwell/Vile)

「全くいりませんね。試合を用意してくださるだけで十分です」
"I really don't need it. It's good enough to merely preparing the match." (Sirius)
　目立たないようにとは考えていたが、やり方次第でどうとでもなるさ。問題は戦いのルールだが、そこは決まってから考えるとしよう。
I thought in order not to stand out, either way, it depends on a method. The question is the match rules, but I think it (the method) will be decided from there (the rules).

「わかった。私はこれ以上何も言わぬよ。シリウス君、最後に一つだけ言っておく事があるのだが……」
"Understood. I won't say anything more. Sirius-kun, There is only one thing that I say in the end..." (Rodwell/Vile)
　ヴィル先生は打って変わって真面目な表情となり、その迫力に思わず身構えてしまった。くっ……敵ではないとはいえ油断した。今のが殺す気だったらやられていたかも知れない。
As soon as Vile-sensei moved and changed to serious facial expression, I put myself on guard intuitively at that intensity. Kuh...He wasn't an enemy but I was careless. If he is now has a mind to kill, maybe I'll be done.

「私にもそのチーズで作られたケーキを頼みます！　なるべく大きいサイズで！」
"I also want to request that cake which made with cheese! With size as large as possible!" (Rodwell/Vile)

　……殺気を込めながら言う台詞じゃねえよ。
...to say that while including a thirst of blood.
　甘味が乏しい世界だからなのか、ケーキという麻薬は四百年生きた者でも虜に出来るというのがわかった。
Whether it's because this world is lacking in sweets, I found out that to use cake as a drug can even captivate the person who lived for four hundred years.

　最強はケーキだった。
A cake is the strongest.

　そして授業終了後、俺はマグナ先生から一枚の紙を渡され、アイオーン組と入替戦(トレード)が行われる事が決定したと聞かされた。
Then, I was handed a piece of paper from Magna-sensei after the end of a lesson, I heard that [Trade] with Iron class has been decided and it will be held out.

突発的な行事だが、生徒同士が戦うだけなので準備はほとんど必要なく、開催は明日の午前中だ。
It's sudden event but there is almost no need to prepare because it's just a match between students and it will be held tomorrow morning.

マグナ先生とヴィル先生は、渋るグレゴリを勢いと脅迫で何とか押し切り、リースを一方的に貰える交渉に成功したらしい。普段からアホな事ばかりやってるから、偶にはアホな目に遭えばいいと思うので罪悪感は皆無だ。

Magna-sensei and Vile-sensei somehow pressed reluctant Gregory by force and intimidation, and they seems to have succeeded in one sided negotiations which they can have Reese. It's because he has a habit to do foolish things, I think if that he has bad experience once in a while, it's fine and there is no sense of guilt (from that).

しかし一方的な要求なせいか、ルールの決定はグレゴリが行ったので気をつけてほしいと念を押された。それ以上にケーキについても念を押された。
However, it may because of one sided demand, given that the rules are decided by Gregory, I insist the idea of wanting to be careful. Furthermore, it was also to make sure concerning cake.

　渡された紙を持って、リースを含めた俺達はダイア荘に集まっていた。
We gathered in Diamond cottage including Reese and I handed over the held paper.
机に置かれた紙には入替戦(トレード)のルールが記載されており、姉弟とリースに見せながら結果を報告していたわけだ。

俺の流れでは……リースを移動させてください、難しいです、ケーキで買収……と、簡単直結な三段階で終る予定だったのだが、ままならないものである。

There will be large serving of cheese cake.

　書き足された最後の項目は線を引いて消しておいた。
The added last entry wrote in had been crossed out.

ふむ……あの男にしては項目が少ない気がする。ルールに抜け道があるか考えたが、特に困るような抜け道は考え付かない。
Hmmm...I had a little hunch that the last entry was from that man. I thought whether there was a loophole in the rules, but I don't think any particular loophole that would be a problem.

アイオーン組はエリート思考の生徒が多いから、俺達なんか簡単に倒せると思い込んでいるんだろうな。舐められている証拠だろう。
Since there are a lot of students with elitist thought in Iron class, they seems to think something like defeating us easily. I hope it will be an experienced proof.

「シリウス様、ルールでは二人と書かれているので、私とレウスが出ます」
"Sirius-sama, because it is written as two people in the rule, Reus and I will go out." (Emilia)

「駄目だ。先生にも言ったが、俺が言いだした上にやりたいと決めた事だ。心配する気持ちはわかるが、俺が出るのは絶対だ」
"It's no use. I said to the teacher that since I proposed this, I've decided I want to do it. I understand (your) worried feeling but I absolutely have to go out." (Sirius)

「だったら兄貴、当然二人目は俺だよな！」
"Aniki, if that's the case, the second person will be me!" (Reus)
　レウスは勢いよく立ち上がり、拳を握り締めてやる気満々である。普段ならレウスを押しのけ立候補するエミリアだが、今回は何も言わず紙を眺めているだけ だった。どう説得しようか考えていたが、妙に大人しい。レウスも同じ考えのようで、恐る恐るエミリアの顔色を窺っていた。

"If I have to say my real feelings, I would like to fight together with you. However, this is the important match which will decide Reese' future. If that's the case, I certainly think of Reus goes out is the best (choice)." (Emilia)

「エミリア……ごめんね。それとありがとう」
"Emilia...I'm sorry. Even so, thank you." (Sirius)

　リースは感極まり、エミリアに抱きついて涙を流していた。
Reese was overcome with emotion, she clung on Emilia and was shedding tears.
　そうか……お前は俺と共に居たいと常に感情が優先していたのに、今は友達の為に引く事を覚えてくれたんだな。成長したな、エミリア。

「うん……シリウス君、レウス君……お願いします」
"Yeah...Sirius-kun, Reus-kun...please." (Reese)

「「任せておけ！」」
"Leave it to us!" (Reus)

　俺達がやる事は明日勝つ以外に何もない。
There's nothing else to do with the exception of gaining victory tomorrow.

　すでに幾つかの想定は済んでいるので、後はレウスと連携を確認するだけだな。

　後方の観客席にはカラリス組の生徒が座り、その向かい側の席にはアイオーン組の生徒が座っている。あちらさんは貴族ばかりなので従者を引き連れている分、人数が倍近く差があるのが特徴か。

「シリウス様、頑張ってください！」
"Sirius-sama, good luck!" (Emilia)

「応援しているぞ、シリウス君！」
"I'm going to support you, Sirius-kun" (??)

「二人共、応援しているからねー！」
"Since there are two people, I support you-!" (??)

「「「兄貴！　親分！　ファイトーっ！」」」
"Aniki! Oya-bun (boss)! Fight!" (Reus' underling)

「平民が煩いな」
"Commoner is noisy." (??)

「優れた血筋である我々に勝てると思っているのか？」
"Do you think you can win against us who hold excellent lineage?" (??)

「全く……汚らわしいにも程がありますわね」
"Good grief...there is a limit being filthy, isn't?" (??)

「このような無駄な事で、我々の時間を取らせないでほしいな」
"We want them not to take our time with this kind of useless thing." (??)

それぞれの内容を聞き取ってみれば……よくもまあ、ここまでアホな貴族を集めたものだ。

　呆れた表情でアイオーン組を眺めていると、彼等の端っこに入替戦(トレード)の商品であるリースが心配そうにこちらを見ていた。

「うん。すぐに助けてやるからなリース姉！　ところで……相手はいつ来るんだ？」
"Yeah. Because I'm going to save Reese-ane immediately! By the way...when will the opponents come?" (Reus)
　レウスが言った通り試合場には俺達以外誰もいない。準備体操も終り、こちらはいつでも始められるんだが、相手がこない事にはな。いい加減呼びに行ってもらおうと思ったところで、審判役の先生と対戦相手が現れた。
Rues said that because there isn't anyone else but us in the arena. We have finished warming up and can begin anytime but the opponents are not coming. To think and moving incidentally is an irresponsible call, but the referee-sensei and the opponent came out.

「遅れて申し訳ありません。少々問題が起きまして」
"Sorry for being late. There was a little problem." (Referee?)

「無能と獣人なぞ待たせて当然だろう」
"I think it's normal to make an incompetent and beastkin to wait." (??)

やってきたのはそれぞれの担任であるマグナ先生とグレゴリ、そして対戦相手であるアイオーン組の生徒だが……数が多い。何故か五人もいた。
the one who turned up are their homeroom teacher respectively, Gregory-sensei and Iron-class students as an opponent...in large number. Why there are five people.

「では時間が勿体無いので早速試合だ。お前達、構えるがいい！」
"Well then, since it's wasteful to waste time, let's start the match immediately!" (Gregory)

「待ちなさい！　私はまだ納得できていませんよ！」
"Wait a moment! I can't give a consent yet!" (Magna)
　さっさと試合を始めようとするグレゴリと、それを止めるマグナ先生は珍しく怒っていた。俺とレウスが疑問符を浮かべていると、違う方角からやってきたヴィル先生が俺達に近づいてきたのである。
Gregory tries to begin the match quickly and Magna sensei who rarely getting angry, tries to stop it. When Reus and I floats a question mark, Vile-sensei has approached us from different direction.

「待たせて申し訳ないね。実はルールに問題があったようでな」
"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. To tell the truth, it seems there is a problem with the rules." (Rodwell/Vile)

「問題ではない！　しかとルールに記載しておったわ！」
"There is no problem! The rules were certainly mentioned!" (Gregory)

「これのどこがルールですか！　貴族として恥ずかしくないのですか！」
"Where is the rule for this! Aren't you embarrassed as a noble?" (Magna)
　再びいがみ合う二人に、ヴィル先生は溜息をついて俺に紙を差し出す。それは前日に俺達が貰ったルールが記載された紙だが、これはグレゴリが持っていた方だと教えてくれた。
Vile sensei is sighing at those two who are quarrelling again and he hands me a paper. That was the paper with a list of rules that we got on the previous days, but this one is what Gregory had and used it.

「内容を見比べて見なさい」
"Look and compare the contents." (Rodwell/Vile)
　昨日見た内容を思い出しながら見ようとしたが、思い出すまでもなかった。なにせ……。
While I tried to remember the details I've seen yesterday, but I didn't remember them.

　・人数は二人……だが従者は含まれない。

比べるまでもなかったからだ。どう見ても俺達の方には書かれていない部分がある。

「とにかく入替戦(トレード)は決定し、すでに覆すことは出来ぬ。文句を言う前に貴様等も従者を出せば済む話だろう？」
"Anyway, [Trade] is determined and it's too late to overturn. Before you complaint, if this bastard bring out servant, will this discussion over?" (Gregory)
　グレゴリは笑いを堪えるように、出せるものなら出してみろと言わんばかりにこちらを見る。こいつ、俺に従者が居るって知らないのかな？　それでも三人……いや、俺と従者姉弟ともう一人で四人か。それでも相手と一人分の差がある。
Gregory is enduring laughter, in case we can bring a servant out and as though he's looking here. This fellow, doesn't he realize I have a servant with me? Nevertheless, three people...no, me and the siblings servants and another person, that will be four? Still, there is a difference of a person as an opponent.

「とにかくやり直しを要求します。公平にせねば学校長に報告しますよ」
"Anyway, I request a redo. If it's not fair, it will be reported to the headmaster." (Magna)

「何とでも言うがいい。ルール決めを私に任せたのはそちらなのだから、私の言い分は間違いない筈だ」
"Say whatever you want and it's fine. Since I was allowed to decide the rules, my say is without no doubt will be apparent." (Gregory)

「落ち着いてくださいマグナ先生、グレゴリ先生」
"Please calm down, Magna-sensei, Gregory-sensei." (Rodwell/Vile)
　舌戦が続く中、ヴィル先生は二人の間に入って会話を遮る。マグナ先生は不満気ながらも下がり、グレゴリは不快そうに睨みつけている。
While the verbal warfare continues, Vile-sensei interrupts the conversation between those two. Although Magna-sensei is dissatisfied, he goes down, and Gregory is scowling disagreeably.

「黙っておれ！　ただの教師が煩いぞ」
"Silent! An ordinary teacher is noisy." (Gregory)

「そのただの教師が見てて見苦しいから止めるのです。貴方達の意見がすれ違うのは当然でしょうが、まずは彼に聞いてみてはどうですか？」
"Since it is unsightly for an ordinary teacher to watch this, stop it. It'll be natural for your opinion to pass each other, but how about asking him first?" (Rodwell/Vile)
　そう言いつつヴィル先生は振り返り、俺を試すような視線を向けてきた。『貴方達なら、問題無いでしょう？』……と、言いたげにだ。

「戦う本人であるシリウス君に聞きましょう。君はこのルールに何か異議はありますか？」

"I don't." (Sirius)

「シリウス君！？」
"Sirius-kun!?" (Magna)
　きっぱりと告げた俺にマグナ先生とグレゴリは揃って驚いていた。しかしグレゴリはすぐに馬鹿にするような目付きに変わったが。
Magna-sensei and Gregory all together were surprised at me who told them decisively. But Gregory changed to the disrespect look immediately.

「ではレウス君はどうでしょう？」
"Well then, Reus-kun, how about you?" (Rodwell/Vile)

「兄貴と一緒だ！」
"I'm with Aniki!" (Reus)

「と言うわけです。生徒達も待ってますし、そろそろ試合を始めましょう」

"Sirius-kun, I don't want to admit such method. Even if this is discounted, since there is nothing to lose, we must renounce it out right." (Rodwell/Vile)

「これ以上長引かせたら、リースの心が磨り減ります。大丈夫ですよ、五人くらいなら俺とレウスの敵ではありません」
"If I prolong beyond this, Reese' heart will wear down. I'll be fine, these five people are not Reus or my enemy." (Sirius)

「兄貴と俺なら無敵だな」
"As for Aniki and I, we're invisible." (Reus)
　自信満々に答える俺達にマグナ先生は諦めたように息を吐き、優しげな笑みを浮かべて俺達の肩に手を置いた。

　マグナ先生が離れ、試合場の中央には対戦相手の五人が武器を持って待ち構えていた。
Magna-sensei went away and five people of an opposing team were waiting with a weapon in the center of arena.

よく見れば、対戦相手に俺と一緒に面接を受けた貴族と従者が混じっている。あの貴族は炎と風の二重(ダブル)だった筈だが、試合に選ばれるという事は実力者なんだろうか？
If I look properly, the nobles and his servants who had an interview with me, are mixed in the opposing team. That noble is the one with [Double] attributes of flame and wind is here, this must mean an influential person is to be chosen for a match?

相手を分析しつつ彼等と向かい合えば、にやにやと嫌な笑みを浮かべて俺達を見下していた。

「貴様ぁ……おいお前達。奴らに私へ挑んだ事を後悔させてやるのだ！」
"You bastard...Oi you guys. I'll make them regret for challenging me!" (Alstore)

「お任せください！」
"Please leave it to me!" (??)

「無能が、楽には終らせんぞ！」
"It's easy to finish this incompetent!" (??)

「うるせえ！　お前達こそ後悔させてやるからな！」
"Shut up! It'll be you guys because I'll make you regret!" (Reus)
　犬歯をむき出しにするレウスを宥めつつ、試合開始のカウントダウンは始まった。
While soothing Reus that shows his canine, the countdown for the match began.
　明らかに違う人数差に、俺達の組から動揺の声が聞こえてくるが気にすることは無い。気にするとしたら、暴走したエミリアが乱入してきそうな点くらいだ。

　戦力差は二対五と確実に不利。
