Darkness 2

Darkness2 (PC, X360,PS3)
- let me skip to the end, this game is great!

note that i haven't played Darkness1 (X360,PS3 exclusive)
but i heard it even better then number 2. keep that in mind if you have the consoles.

Story: 7/8
it is great! and by great I mean should-be-made-into-a-book kind of great.
wait, cancel that. it's the other way around. it is based on a famous(?) comic book by the same name.
you play as Jackie Estacado, head of the mafia and possessed by the devil. well, that original combination.
but i guess saying devil possessed is a bit of understatement. you see, he is possessed by the Darkness.

to avoid spoilers for the first game skip the part from 3:10 to 5:25. keep watching for some gameplay as well.

the plot stays interesting and have quite intriguing developments. also it have fake ending. good to see those haven't died out yet.
minus one point for the only "above average" ending, as opposed to "totally awesome" story in the previous chapters.

Gameplay: 5/7. polarization -1.
it's an upgraded shooter. it you hate shooters, you might have hard time with it. if you only dislike them, like i do, not to mention actually loving shooter, you'll be fine.
as the video shows, you have 4 arms. well, 2 arms and two tentacles.
the tentacles are used for grabbing, throwing and slashing enemies apart. the regular arms are used to wield guns.
you can carry single two handed weapon (M16, Shotguns) and two 1 handed weapons (Uzi, Pistols)  at the same time.
you can use any of them at will, including dual wielding of the 2 one-handed guns.
you also have Special Powers (Cooldown based). you gain XP from killing enemies and finding relics and can use it in one of four skill trees.

Graphics: 4/5. (polarization -1, +1)
new style. i like it. you seen it in the video.
can't imagine anyone hating it enough to give it the -1, but oh well.

Replayability 1/1.
New Game+ while keeping all your stat.
also higher difficulties that (supposedly) should be only played on NG+.

also the "Vendetta Mode". the multiplayer mode of this game. it can be played either alone or with up to 3 friends through the net.
the story isn't as great, but it exist. and integrated with the main campaign in an interesting way.
the gameplay is similar but you don't play as jackie. instead you use one of four new (and noticeably different) characters.

Other:
-0.5 for the lack of a final boss.
strange decision considering the fact that the two previous chapters had one.

final score: 8/10.
9/10 for shooter lovers. 6/10 for haters.
