  1. He was losing control. NO! He never lost control. He was a machine. A perfect, punctual, precise body of scientific conquest. Robotnik refused to let this miniature mushroom topple his flawlessly focused brainwaves. But the world was melting around him now. He couldn’t quite make sense of it. Such a reaction would terrify a lesser mind.

  3. Then, suddenly, in that haze of mushroom poisoning, his brain kicked into overdrive. The darkening of his vision became a chalkboard, and Robotnik furiously wrote the equation of his life.

  5. “Speed of light squared,” he mumbled as his body writhed on the ground. “The star configurations point past the Kuiper belt . . . and lead our gaze beyond the Milky Way and to THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE . . . but where to go from there?”

  7. In an instant, a celestial star chart had formed in his line of sight. He knew exactly where he was!
