  4. 3. What's the purpose of reading the script before the production: To determine equipment and personal before the shoot.
  5. 4. Why should the sound recordist attend the preproduction meeting: To make sure all problems are solved / to identify any sound issues and resolve them.
  6. 5. What's the purpose of attending a location rekey: To identify any and all issues at the location. Listen to all sounds and identify if they are solvable. If problems are not solvable make people aware, in particular, the Director.

What are 4 task done while arriving at location: Find somewhere save to put / store our gear, setup equipment (equipment, communications, etc.) and check everything is working, if doing a drama we do a "block threw" this gives us an idea of what we are doing, help run cables (boom operators can help with this), rehearsals.
  13. 12. In a drama production, what's a purpose of a "block threw": Helps us identify how the scene will run, helps each department with there roles.
  14. 13. Who should attend the "block threw": Heads of department, Director, 1st AD, Talent
  15. 14. How does a "block threw" help the sound department: Helps us identify how the shoot will be done, are there cups being place? Are the talent moving? Are there sound problems?
  16. 15. What's the purpose of a rehearsal: Making sure the shoot has the desired outcome
  17. 16. Who should attend the rehearsal: Everyone involved in the shot.
  18. 17. How does it relate to the sound department: Helps establish our levels and achieve our desired outcome of the shoot.
  19. Name 3 tasks that the sound recordist do during each take: Monitor the audio / keeping an eye on our meters, mixing the sound levels (done on location sometimes), Identify good dialogue (soundcards/script mark-ups), if dialogue isn't clear/clean we ask for another take.
