>you feel a kick at the back of your seat

>you stay forward faced, cheeks puffed out indignantly

>you feel a little boiling inside yourself
>in front of the class, the teacher barks out
>"Icarus, cut it out!"
>"Sorry, Ms. Cheerilee."
>"As I was saying..."
>she continues with an annoyed tone
>you start doodling on your notes
>hearts here and there until you feel there's enough
>but now there's no more room to write notes
>ah well
>Icarus once again kicks the back of your chair
>boiling over, you flip around
"Leave me alone, you stupid pegasus!"
>the room dramatically gasps
>Icarus is now sniggering
>he probably feels like he won

>you regain conscious thought sitting outside of Ms. Cheerilee's office
>you can hear your parents and the teacher just barely
>you can't make out anything
>your hands burn under the skin
>you really feel your heartbeat through them
>the door swings open, Pinkie storming right by you and out of the building
>you feel tears well up
>did you do something wrong?
>you were only protecting yourself
>your dad strolls out, hands in his pockets and head held low
>"Pogo, you're gonna be pretty grounded."
>you blink without understanding
>"Pogo, you broke on of Icarus' teeth."
"I did?"
>your dad seems to have a little realization
>"You blacked out, huh?"
>you nod quietly
>your dad kneels cautiously beside you
>"You got a can o' whoop ass opened on you, son."
>you feel your heart pang
>your hand really begins to throb
>you grab your father's collar and pull him in
"What happened?"

Apparently, the kids circled you right after you swung. Grabbed you. You know, stopped you from causing real damage. Icarus chose that oppurtunity to wail on you. He shattered your zygamatic bone. You'll get that fixed up soon enough. The kids then held Icarus down, but his cronies distracted the crowd and really laid it on you. They kicked your johnson so hard I don't think you're ever gonna have kids. Pogo, this is serious. You and Icarus both are under indefinite suspension. They don't even know if you'll be allowed in the school anymore.

Pogo?

>it's been a full week since the incident

"I guess Icarus really did win..."
>some of your friends had come by to give you moral support, but your parents hadn't allowed them more than 10 minutes of visiting time

>your dad quietly opens the door
>"Pogo, another of your friends is here to see you."
>he steps aside
>right there is the bane of your existence
"Garnet."
>"You know I prefer Garret, you imbecile."
"Dad, can you please see him out?"
>your dad chuckles nervously
>"Don't be rude, Pogo. He came all this way to see you. At least entertain him for the..."
>he trails off as he checks his watch
>"...9 minutes and 26 seconds you have left."
>he turns and leaves, Garret entering your hidey hole
>there's an uneasy silence
>Garret stares at you, not with contempt, but instead trying to put words together
>you grit your teeth
"Well?"
>"Are you ok, Pogo?"
>bewildered, you cock your head
"Am I... ok?"
>Garret growls irritably and buries his head in his hands
>"Pogo, do not take this as some form of attack."
>you frown
"Why wouldn't I be defensive after last week?"
>he begins to approach you, fidgeting quite a bit more than normal
>"Pogo, just hear me out, please..."
>you cross your arms and sigh
>Garret sits on the bed with you
>he won't meet your eyes anymore
>"Yesterday, I beat the piss out of Icarus. I went to Hotshot's, Maverick's, and Herc's as well. I told them to keep their fucking mouths shut. That if they didn't, they would rue the day they tattled."
>you almost want to thank Garret, but mom always told you two wrongs don't make a right
>even if your dad always said sometimes you just need to 'smack a bitch.'
>Garret moves in closer
>"Pogo, you have my word. If people are going to try and pick on you, I won't let them."
"Garret, are you ok?"
>you heart is racing for some reason
>'They kicked your johnson so hard I don't think you're ever gonna have kids.'

>he puts his hand on top of yours, gripping softly

>Garret, Rarity, Pinkie, and both his and your dads worked together to enroll you in the private school Garret attended in the Crystal Kingdom
>there were tons of new ponies at this school to befriend
>there was this one girl, Venus
>you hoped you could become her close friend one day
>there was one other satyr in the entire school
>her name was Judith, or just Jude
>you told your parents of your new sexuality, and they quickly accepted, saying they 'knew all along'
>you even got to go with Garret and Sweetie Belle to Germaneigh
>that was a wonderful trip in itself
>you were being dropped of now, just now eclipsing dusk
>it was a school night after all
>"See you tomorrow in school?"

>he leans forward and gives you a peck
>completely off guard, you blush
>he walks off snootily
>"Ciao, bella."
>your dad sneaks up behind you and rests a hand on your shoulder

>he rustles your hair a bit and walks away
