  1. SYSTEM: Nanyej
  2. Class K Star -- 0.76 Solar radii
  3.
  4.
  5.
  6. 1. Gas Giant -- Saloto
  7. Situated perilously close to its parent star, Nanyej, Saloto is not the first place you would expect to go for gas mining. The orbital temperatures are hotter than an oven, and ships need to be built to withstand this heat. Nevertheless, a very lively - if ancient - gas mining operation is in constant operation at Saloto Mining Station, which these days provides the majority of the system's income.
  8.
  9. Early in the sector's history, it was discovered that Saloto had a number of veloxium-rich asteroids and debris orbiting it. Fortune-seekers began flocking here, and with the money eventually set up the Saloto mining station. These days, those asteroids have been picked bare, but the mining station survives.

  21.
  22. 2. Desert World -- Nanyej Prime
  23. Normally Nanyej Prime, known informally as Nanyej, would be considered an inhospitable planet. Its atmosphere is unbreathable, and the temperature is often uncomfortably warm. However, orbiting Nanyej's larger moon, Fuhodo, is Fuhodo Station, which is fairly large as far as stations go - even if no longer in its prime. This close proximity, coupled with how the Hiltorel people have been persecuted even by other sentient species than humans, have led the hiltorel to set up a small number of colonies in their attempt to populate the world.
  24.
  25. The terrain on one half of the planet is notable for being composed of jagged cliffs, rocks, and mountains that do not match our knowledge of tectonics. It is speculated that in the planet's distant past it was hit with a moon large enough to shatter the far side. Why the impacted side of the planet is so smooth remains a mystery.

  29. Orbital period: 574 days
  30. Radius: 7143km
  31. Atmospheric density: 0.85 atmospheres
  32. Atmospheric composition: Nitrogen and carbon dioxide
  33. Average temperature: 30C

  35. Moons: Fuhodo, Faller
  36. Space stations: Fuhodo Station, orbiting Fuhodo
  37.
  38.
  39.
  40. 3. Gas Giant -- Bachi
  41. Bachi is a standard hydrogen-helium gas giant, with no particularly interesting moons or features of which to speak of. Bachi lacks the heat of its sister world, Saloto, and every few decades someone seeks to set up a new mining venture there. Unfortunately, these attempts never truly catch on, and there are more than two dozen abandoned or scrapped space stations orbiting the planet. Some have remained relatively untouched, while most have been looted. A select few have been commandeered by pirates, but as few individuals venture out towards Bachi in the first place, there is little reason to be there except to avoid authorities.

  43. DATA:
  44. Orbital distance: 2.1 AU
  45. Orbital period: 4.2 years
  46. Radius: 24084km
  47. Composition: Hydrogen and helium
  48. Average temperature: -67C
  49.
  50.
  51.
  52. 4. Ice World -- Iarebe
  53. Iarebe is a frozen, rocky world notable only for its large radius and incredible distance from the rest of the system. Given that its mineral composition differs significantly from the rest of the planets, it may be a captured planet - a planet that originated elsewhere and was caught up by the star's gravity. This is somewhat difficult to believe, however, given the planet's size and the relatively low mass of the parent star. Despite this, no official scientific expeditions have been formed to investigate in recent times, and the planet remains not only uninhabited, but mostly untouched.

  58. Radius: 7531km
  59. Atmospheric density: Trace
  60. Atmospheric composition: Nitrogen and methane
  61. Average temperature: -239C
  62. Surface gravity: 1.54G
