Definition of an Imperial Citizen

[list=1][*]An Imperial Citizen (hereafter referred to as simply “citizen”) is someone who has been approved as a citizen of the Empire of Mare Nostrum (hereafter referred to simply as the “Empire) by the Emperor or admins, as appointed and defined by the Emperor, and maintains a nation within the region.[/list]

[b][size=150]Article II[/size][/b]
Approval of Citizens

[list=1][*]In order to receive citizenship, a person must maintain a nation in the region, fill out the form for citizenship, and be approved by the Emperor or admins, as appointed and defined by the Emperor.
[list=a][*]The official and only acceptable form for citizenship applications shall be as follows:

[code][b]1. Please state the name of your nation in The Empire of Mare Nostrum:[/b]
[b]2. Please state the name of your nation in the World Assembly:[/b]
[b]3. Please state how you learned of The Empire of Mare Nostrum:[/b]
[b]4. Please list any organizations, in NationStates, that you have currently pledged loyalty to:[/b]
[b]5. Please repeat the following oath in your citizenship application:

I, <name>, hereby swear my allegiance to the Emperor of Mare Nostrum, to the Empire of Mare Nostrum, and to the First Law of Mare Nostrum[/b][/code]

[*]Filled applications for citizenship will be posted as a new topic within the Customs Office.
[list=a][*]Applications posted elsewhere will be considered invalid until they have been moved to the Customs Office by a forum administrator or moderator.[/list][/list]

[b][size=150]Article III[/size][/b]
Loss of Citizenship

[list=1][*]Citizens may only lose their citizenship for the following reasons:[list=a]
[*]They lack a nation in the region;
[*]They were not logged in on the forum for more than 31 days, and did not post any message on the Discord for more than 14 days;
[*]They publicly post their desire to renounce their citizenship in the Empire;
[*]They are found guilty in a court of law and it is stripped from them as punishment;
[*]Or An Imperial Decree is issued stripping it from them.[/list]
[*]The Emperor and admins, as appointed and defined by the Emperor, are empowered to deprive a citizen of citizenship, provided that a citizen could be defined under one or more of the subsections of the section 1 of this Article.
[*]If a former citizen has not lost their citizenship due to an Imperial Decree or court sentence, they may reapply for it through the normal process.
[list=a][*]If a former citizen has lost their citizenship for a defined period of time due to an Imperial Decree or a court sentence, they may reapply for the citizenship through the normal process when the defined time, counted from the loss of citizenship, has lapsed.[/list][/list]


[b][size=150]Article IV[/size][/b]
Integrators

[list=1][*]This legislation creates the office of Integrator.
[*]Integrators will possess the power on the Discord server to assign the citizen, resident, and foreign national roles to members.
[*]They will possess no power of moderation.
[*]Integrators will be considered employees of the Tribunate of Naturalization and subordinate to its Tribune.[list=a]
[*]It will be the responsibility of the Tribune of Naturalization to create and maintain a posted application to become an Integrator, decide on requirements to hold such office, and approve applicants.
[*]The Tribune of Naturalization may fire Integrators at any time if they believe they are not adequately doing their job.[/list][/list]
