(9:22:25 PM) jovialCarabas: [ It sits just off the shore, tentacles rising in and out of the water,  encouraging the swell. It screeches, and you roll your eyes. For something deemed a 'Kraken' by the game, it sounds more like an orca than anything. ]
(9:22:40 PM) jovialCarabas: [ You draw your rapier and stand, leaping smoothly from the deck of the boat into the sand. You could teleport away, but you'd prefer to lure it further from Anna, if at all possible. Krakens shouldn't even be here, outside a dungeon. Must be yet another glitch. ]
(9:22:56 PM) jovialCarabas: [ Stride down the beach, heading towards Skaia. The kraken, after some moments of inaction, begins to follow. You come to stand in the shallows, and wait, water slapping at your legs and soaking your pants. ]
(9:23:18 PM) jovialCarabas: [ The kraken hisses, and flings at you a fireball. You sidestep quickly and easily and grin. ]
(9:23:30 PM) jovialCarabas: [ "Not going to get far like that," you call, and it screeches again, flinging another. Dodge once more. The wet sand behind you explodes, and you flinch as the granular shrapnel stings the back of your neck. ]
(9:23:37 PM) jovialCarabas: [ You need to lure it closer. That far out, you can't easily attack, and there'll be trouble if it goes for the boat. Walk a little further into the water, and it reaches your knees now. ]
(9:23:53 PM) jovialCarabas: [ Adjust your stance, and prepare a [Tadportal]- your sword flicks through to stab at the kraken and- that closed faster than it should have. ]

(9:24:17 PM) jovialCarabas: [ You don't have time, though, to expend a lot of thought to your portals' behaviour, because the Kraken, infuriated, surges forwards, flinging another fireball. ]
(9:24:28 PM) jovialCarabas: [ Curse as you barely dodge this one. The monster is closer now, but you're less mobile in the water. The water that hits your back and side is heated, but not painfully so. ]

(9:24:43 PM) jovialCarabas: [ You're flickering your sword in and out almost too quickly to do enough damage, in an effort to make sure your rapier is not cut off by a collapsing portal. Try to move back up onto the beach. ]

(9:24:57 PM) jovialCarabas: [ Shit. You slash awkwardly at the attacking tentacle, and twist to bash the hilt down on a second one, shot towards your back. ]
