- Jump #416: Kamen Rider Neo-Hisei, Part 4
- >Strength: A surge of tremendous force. Recovery from sickness.
- >Location: Japan, 2016
- >Identity: Gamer
- >Know Your Game (Free, Gamer)
- I kind of feel like it's a little creepy to have this sort of detail about all video games here and forever, but I also feel like I should visit the Counter-Strike jump sometime soon.
- >Beta Beat (Free, Gamer)
- Meh, don't think I'll be needing THIS, but you never know.
- >Cherry Tapping (800, Gamer)
- Never a bad thing, to be able to whittle the enemy down to nothing if I must.
- >Building Immunity (500, Gamer)
- We'll start with immunity to being punched and progress to stabbing and shooting after.
- >I Don't Wanna Know! (200, Gamer)
- It's my job to be consistently underestimated. The better I do my job, the more effective this perk will be, so it's win-win.
- >A Crystal's Light (0)
- I've come too far to give up now.
- >Jumper Rider General (Free, Gamer)
- Well, if nothing else this ought to be amusing to read from time to time? The implications are a touch disturbing, mind.
- I swear I have the weirdest sense of deja vu- excuse me a moment, I have to deal with something.
- >"Damn you, Crux!"
- "Piss off, Narutaki, it's been nine thousand years for me since we last met, and I am NOT in the mood right now."
- >"Why you..!"
- "Just... fuck off to Paris or something, take a vacation."
- >"How dare you-" *BLIP*
- Fucking asshat. Where was I? Oh yes.
- You know what prevents the world from being overrun by Gashats? Just a little meddling in the right place. After all, just because Kamen Rider Chronicle was completed in this world doesn't mean that it's going to get out to the public. Code being manipulated during the manufacturing process guarantees that not a single one of them will work. Sure, lots of people bought it, but it never worked - and Genm Corp's reputation absolutely TANKED as a result.
- The impotent screaming by that Masamune fellow once he got out of jail didn't change much. Sure, he can come back and try to take Genm back over, but that's not going to mean much when your company is bankrupt and the majority of the staff who weren't gashats quit because they needed to actually collect a paycheck. The ones who remain... well, they can do what they like, but when the power company cuts the building's power in the middle of an angry speech, it makes it really difficult for him to seize control and fix the problems with Kamen Rider Chronicle. Though the storm and dramatic lightning outside at least lent a dramatic tension to the air, with thunder punctuating his speeches at appropriate moments.
- It was made that much harder when the various Riders stormed the building to deal with things, making their way upstairs, floor by floor, having been tipped off as to what was going on. Masamune made his way to the roof, made an impassioned speech in the rain about becoming the god of this world and attempted to infect himself with the Bugster virus... and at the instant he was going to do that, a deafening crack of thunder knocked everyone away from him on the roof as it struck him.
- The Bugster's data was corrupted and it wasn't able to infect him - he lived, but at the cost of losing all of his memories. And... pretty much with that, the source of the Bugster virus was wiped out before it could become a pandemic, and the Riders' job was then just a matter of cleanup.
- Masamune Dan eventually recovered his memories after a few years... but didn't try for apotheosis again. Something about hubris and being struck down by the gods. He ended up changing his career, got into computer security, it worked out pretty well for him all told.
