- Cleaving Whirlwind vs Rending crane vs Tempo Royale on zenistar
- I finally hit my 100th day in Warframe! and I am MR 7 primarily using Xaku, I picked Zenistar and so far I have been using cleaving whirlwind which has been fun turning into a tornado of death, but it feels like I haven't been doing that much damage compared to my old weapon of choice (Skiajati.) My build with Zenistar has been mainly slash, but I want to know if it can be my stance too, is Cleaving whirlwind just not a good stance for killing enemies really fast? should I switch to Rending crane or farm for Tempo Royale to try that out?
- Honestly, the problem is Zenistar itself. It's mainly heat damage until you throw the disc, then it turn to mostly slash but only while the disc is deployed. Then you have to account for the throw gimmick consuming all your combo count stack, the nerf to Blood Rush, the nerf to attack speed mods and Zenistar being a status oriented melee weapon that it's SLOW AF.I don't want to say it's bad (because it's not) but it has so many issues to patch with modding that you have no mod space left for making it do damage and if you focus on damage alone it's clunky AF to use and that hurts your ability to inflict damage anyways. All in all, you can still make it work but it requires a lot of effort and any other melee weapon would perform better with less investment/effort.
- So Zenistar isn't bad but it is hard to mod with effectively?
- the problem is the fact that it's zenistar, without super niche combos with frames i don't think it is all that good even with a perfect riven the rework screwed it, the only reason i use it is the chroma dynasty great sword skin is amazing on it, skiajati is definitely the stronger of the 2 and since its a heavy weapon its combos are so much slower which keeps you from actually being able to hit them with it as xaku/letting you get hit more as xaku but if you are able to get within melee range without the enemy being dead your xaku build should be changed
- I prefer Cleaving because spin2win. What build are you running by the way?
- I still like to use Zenistar to block choke points in long survivals - meaning I only use the disc (heavy attack). I have a decent Riven for it with range and attack speed so it can cover half of the room and still easily kills up to level 100 enemies.
- Adding Secondary Dexterity arcane makes it build combo relatively fast and maintain it so it is easy to launch the disc for 120 seconds + the disc kills refresh arcane damage buff.
- I personally think that Tempo Royale looks better and is more fun overall, but Cleaving Whirlwind has a few technical advantages: better average damage multipliers, combos don’t slow movement, and the standing block combo is faster. The big disadvantage to Cleaving Whirlwind is the dumb dizzy stagger at the end of the moving combo; the best way I’ve found to avoid is is to do a slide attack after every third or fourth spin.
- I generally use Cleaving Whirlwind on fast heavy blades and Tempo Royale on slow ones. Any weapon which has special slam properties (e.g. Vitrica) also gets Tempo Royale so I can slam on demand with the standing block combo, plus it looks more fun and dramatic.
- For the Zenistar, I would use Tempo Royale, but there isn’t a clear “better” one. I recommend that you try both and use the one that feels better.
- Cleaving whirlwind vs tempo royale
- Tempo royale is more of a defensive stance meanwhile cleaving whirlwind is an attack stance. Personally i would use tempo royale
- Stances do not affect damage, if you know what it does. I prefer the Tempo Royale over cleaving whirlwind. The whirlwind has a triple slam attack and a charge slam kinda thing, which will waste some amount of time and damage, if those attacks didnt land properly. Tempo royale is faster, while the whirlwind has more emphasis on the weight of the sword.
- A lot of ppl was saying TR was better than the other one so i bought it to use it with my galatine prime.. I didn't like it. so i just use my old stance so i can spin to win at low levels xD
- I think there are some stances that increase damage on certain moves (like spin attack or wall attack’s). But I forget which weapon/stance.
- Stances dont affect damage, get out of here xD Lots of stances affect damage infact over half if i remember right have damage modifiers on combos "Cleaving_Whirlwind" on Fandom: "Cleaving Whirlwind is a stance mod for Heavy Blade melee weapons. It is a momentum-based stance. Notice how it has 2x 400% thats aka 2 hits doing 4x damage (8x damage per press of a button when you are spinning) warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Cleaving_Whirlwind Cleaving for heavy hitting and tempo for regular star chart content
- Ironically they both have damage multipliers. Fyi stances: Most have damage multipliers Some force procs (regardless of status chance) or/and slams Some can force more than 1 proc They affect ground finishers
