  1. The land of Nemuria is a permeated with energy. Every nook and every cranny contains even the smallest bit of it suffused within. The origin of this mysterious arcane power is unknown, but legend claims this energy originates from a primordial god, known as Ea, born before the universe itself. With might above all others, Ea ruled over the planes as a god among gods as a tyrant, before being plotted against by the lesser gods and eventually shattered into the countless fragments that permeate the world.
  2.
  3. Everything in the world that's infused with this life gains a form of sentience, becoming what is known as a Fragment of Ea. These fragments generally have just the barest minimum of thought, and are generally incapable of communicating.
  4.
  5. Their most notable function however is what happens when Fragments of Ea are gathered together. Areas suffused with Fragments of Ea can range in size from a few dozen feet to several miles in diameter, and it is common for people to settle in areas containing these fragments due to the variety of effects they produce.
  6.
  7. The effects are as follows:
  8.
  9. - Areas suffused by Fragments of Ea are filled with a faint, shimmering mist containing occasional motes of multicolored lights. In normal concentrations of Fragments of Ea, this light is dim light. In high concentrations, it is bright light.
  10.
  11. - A creature in an area suffused with Fragments of Ea has advantage on saving throws against any divination spells. If a divination spell doesnโ€™t allow a saving throw, the caster must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw to cast the spell. Failing this save means the spell is wasted and has no effect.
  12.
  13. - Any creature attempting to teleport into, within, or out of a Fragment of Ea-suffused area must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 1d10 force damage and the teleportation attempt fails. Even if the save succeeds, the teleportation attempt can suffer a mishap as if the destination was known only by description, regardless of how familiar the destination actually is. See the table in the teleport spell for more information.
  14.
  15. - When Fragments of Ea gather in truly significant numbers, Short Rests take only 15 minutes to complete, and Long Rests 1 hour.
  16.
  17. - In areas with a very low concentration of Fragments of Ea, Short Rests take 8 hours to complete, and Long Rests 10 Days.
