- Paypal itself is safe. Here are some things you can check on your end to make things safer:
- Is your machine squeaky clean? Or more accurately: What are the chances that the computer you are using is infected with spyware/malware? Using a public computer on a net cafe or library is very risky. IF at home: when was the last time you checked and cleaned your PC?
- What will you use to pay? Personally, I'd recommend an online debit card over a credit card. With a debit card, if it does get compromised (knock on wood) only the funds you had deposited in the card can be accessed.
- Bank policies, or does your bank/card carrier have your back? Like if you're using a credit card, will it require that you move heaven and earth to cancel a transaction?
