- Drowning in Sweat Edition
- 'Sup, doods!
- At this very moment, I am drowning in my own sweat... and the responsibilities I've hoisted on myself. (...and the thought I should probably invest in a proper lapel mic for when I record this update video)
- On the good side: I'm not committing to 30 minutes of walking on my new treadmill every day. I am committing to 45 minutes of walking on my new treadmill every day. It really is convenient to slide something out from under my bed every time I feel like sitting down to do something. Does it help me get productive? No, but it sure beats simply sitting down and getting distracted by YouTube videos trying to provide noise to drown out the ambiance. I swear, doods, if I don't put on some kind of noise to occupy my brain, I will occupy my brain with nervous habits that do far worse things to me. I know that I will need help later, but for now, I also know that this treadmill is helping me form much healthier habits.
- On the bad side: running the community tournament has proven to be smooth sailing so far. Focusing the rest of my time on how to fit everything else in, however, has not. In a perfect world, once the tournament day is done, I would schedule two hours to edit and prepare the archives, two hours to render more of my Shorts, and probably be left with two more hours to record for the tutorial series. I just figured that up on the fly as I'm walking here and perhaps that's part of my problem. I haven't written anything down until now. Saturday, my mind went other directions while I handled the day's tournament videos and clipped from Friday's show. I function best when I work off of checklists, but my mind has associated checklists with work and has every intention of keeping my work life and my personal life separate. It's a moment of weakness that I will definitely need to overcome, especially now that I'm up against it with my Shorts if I want to keep them daily. Do you even care if I release them daily, doods? Maybe I need to tweak that, too...
- In other news, I should probably vague-post about this enough so that any unruly algorithms don't try to push this entire message down. I took a look this past week at the account I created next to all of the butterflies. After figuring out that there is, indeed, an app for scheduling posts there (there's an app for everything, doods), I am all set to post updates over there, as well. I will spell it all out on my update video for YouTube Sardines. Remind me to update my Linktree later.
- Now if you'll excuse me, doods, this is the second time I've been on this treadmill today and, quite frankly, my feet are trying to kill me for it so I better rest them now.
- Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals:
- Goal #1: record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. The scripts are done! I am now challenging myself to find time amidst my tournament duties to work on recording the gameplay. I would then need voice-over on top of that. In a perfect world, I would be done with all of that by the end of next month. Maybe I do members only streams to get this done?
- Goal #2: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts. I have come to realize that if I am going to make my target date, I need to put this above everything else because I don't have as much time or motivation during the week as I thought I would.
- Goal #3: clean up my own stream layout. Most of the framework necessary for a semi-proper stream is done now thanks to streaming the process, though I'm not currently motivated to stream any other part of it at the moment. Next major objective is to make alerts. I have stream reaction clips to put in. Emotes, one or two alternate overlay themes, and alternate timer themes would come soon after. As soon as I think of things to put in, I will add them to the list. I added a list in a dedicated channel in my Discord server. If you have any time to kill and want to contribute, check it out.
- Goal #4: catch up on video archives that I have yet to upload since I restarted streaming. I may put them on a separate channel.
- Goal #5: edit personal best videos in Tetris Attack Easy – V-Hard (post commentary recorded) and Normal (post commentary recorded)—and everything I did in Pokemon Puzzle Week—and that S-Hard PB—and that V-Hard WR—and that Easy – S-Hard WR—and that TA Easy PB—and another Easy – V-Hard PB (twice). Standalone archival videos are already attached to my speedrun profile. I'm hoping to make eye-catching productions from each speedrun. I'm considering it to be my personal test to be a YouTuber. I am failing miserably right now.
- Goal #6: finalize the tournament layout once and for all in a way that I can adapt for every game we might play. Until someone volunteers to help broadcast the matches in my stead, this is not actually a top priority. I feel like making this happen will encourage others to help out, not the other way around. There has been virtually no interest so far.
