  1. [1:31]*Iroquois-Pliskin has apparently spontaneously become a kid, or something to the like! He's in the upstairs hall of the Jebri house, looking very lost, slinking around close to a wall as he tries to figure out where he is. He'd found a box and wanted to sneak around in it, but it was too big! Only an adult could sneak around in that thing.
  2.
  3. He's wearing a navy blue bandana tied around his forehead, hair short and brown and a little wavy and messy, and bright, ice-blue eyes visible from under the edge of the headband. He's also wearing hiking boots, jeans, a dark gray t-shirt with a picture of a wolf on it, and a navy blue, puffy vest. Truly, the pinnacle of sneakiness.
  4. [1:32]*Iroquois-Pliskin also looks to be probably approximately ten years old.
  5. [1:35]*Simon-Blackquill has no idea anything like that has taken place. He's in one of the guest rooms upstairs, presumably taking a nap -- of course, he's not, don't be silly, Simon can't sleep to save his life. No, he's on the bed reading a book, this time Taka suspiciously absent. Which is probably a good thing, considering.
  6. [1:38]*comic sans serif is standing in the hallway where the kid hasn't looked yet, phalanges and metacarpals tucked into the pockets of his hoodie, a lazy grin on his his face.
  7.
  8. "You're looking pretty lost, kid," he says, mildly, leaning back against the wall and crossing his tarsal bones.
  9. [1:39]*Iroquois-Pliskin's footsteps, at least, are perfectly silent as he comes to a door, which he very carefully and very quietly opens up a crack to peek in. Some skunk-haired weirdo reading a book. Hmmm... He wonders if he could get information from this-
  10.
  11. "AAHHH!!!" He nearly jumps three feet in the air and turns around, startled by OH MY GOD A SKELETON?? ".... Y'know it's not Halloween anymore, right?"
  12. [1:40]comic sans serif: What's Halloween?
  13. [1:41]*Simon-Blackquill notices someone opening the door, but he doesn't look up just yet, he's at a good part-- at least, UNTIL HE HEARS A CHILD SCREAMING. He immediately sets the book down and sits up with a gasp. "What the devil?!"
  14. [1:41]*comic sans serif is still smiling, white eyes bright in the blackness of his eye sockets.
  15. [1:43]*Iroquois-Pliskin has been beset by a skeleton! D: This can't be real, though, right? Maybe he's having a nightmare. That's gotta be it. A nightmare where he's lost in a strange house, with skeletons and vampires. Maybe he shouldn't have watched that scary movie marathon...
  16.
  17. He bites his lip, taking a step backward to the door, pressing a hand against it. "I'm. Not scared of skeletons." He says, not terribly convincingly despite his deadpan tone.
  18. [1:45]*Simon-Blackquill gets up off the bed and struts over to the two of them. He doesn't recognise the skeleton. Of course. He'd know if there was a bloody skeleton around here-- that's no costume. Better not tell the kid.
  19.
  20. ...The kid that looks suspiciously like Pliskin. .....What has happened.
  21. [1:46]*comic sans serif shrugs! "Well, hey, neither am I, kid." And hey, look at that! Another human! He waves one hand at the dude, and says, "Sup, dude. Do you know this kid? Or where I am?"
  22. [1:47]Simon-Blackquill: .........You are in the world of the living.
  23. [1:49]*Iroquois-Pliskin ssssslinks backwards into the room and behind Simon's legs. He's not trying to hide behind Simon or anything, definitely not!
  24. [1:49]*Simon-Blackquill glances at the kid behind him and reaches a hand out for him to take, if he so wishes. Of course, said hand is shackled, so it may still be scary, but he hopes not.
  25. [1:50]*comic sans serif chuckles, and stays leaning against the far side of the hallway, winking one... eye socket? "Well, hey, I knew that. Do I look like I'm dead to you?"
  26. [1:50]Simon-Blackquill: ......Yes.
  27. [1:50]*Iroquois-Pliskin doesn't take the hand not because the shackles are worrying but because HE'S TOUGH and tough kids don't need to hold hands! And besides, he doesn't remember ever holding a hand in his life, anyways.
  28. [1:55]*comic sans serif looks at himself, in his tee and hoodie and shorts and slippers, and then back up at the much taller human. "That's weird, 'cause I'm definitely alive. And, uh, kinda wanting to know if you humans can direct me to Mount Ebott, maybe...?"
  29. [1:57]*Simon-Blackquill supposes... a living skeleton isn't the strangest thing he's seen. With a sigh, Simon runs his fingers through the white section of his hair, and removes a feather from his pocket to chew on. "Never heard of such a place. You're no doubt lost in the wrong world and I'd suggest making yourself at home since I've no idea how to take you back."
  30. [1:58]*Iroquois-Pliskin is sliding his hand slowly under his vest, eyes still trained on the skeleton. "... Never heard of a Mount Ebott, but I could point you to Mount Hood, if that's what you mean."
  31. [2:03]*comic sans serif eyes the slowly moving hand, and then crouches down on his toes and asks the boy, "That where you're from, kid? 'Cause I've never heard of that one. I don't know a bunch about human geography yet--"
  32.
  33. Sans pauses, and his grin widens a bit. "... You could say my knowledge is a bit... marrow, right now."
  34. [2:05]*Iroquois-Pliskin grips the handle of the knife in the hidden sheath under his vest. But then he pauses, squinting. "... Wait, was that a pun??"
  35. [2:05]*Eleria Engel answers with a wink!
  36. [2:05]Eleria Engel: ((whoooppppssss))
  37. [2:05]*comic sans serif answers with a wink!
  38. [2:07]comic sans serif: If it was, will you have........................ a bone to pick with me?
  39. [2:07]*Simon-Blackquill groans loudly. Those are awful puns. Sans should be ashamed of himself, but he knows damn well he isn't. "Your ribbing is insufferable." Now, that? That's a pun. And Simon laughs at himself because of it.
  40. [2:08]*Iroquois-Pliskin crinkles his nose, and straightens up a bit, taking his hand off his knife. "That's dumb."
  41. [2:09]*Eleria Engel BASICALLY ANIME SPARKLES AT SIMON
  42. [2:09]Eleria Engel: ((fucking))
  43. [2:10]*comic sans serif BASICALLY ANIME SPARKLES AT SIMON
  44. [2:11]comic sans serif: Wow, rude, kid. Maybe your face is dumb, and I won't give you anything to eat.
  45. [2:13]Iroquois-Pliskin: I don't wanna eat stuff from some weird skeleton.
  46. [2:13]Simon-Blackquill: ...I wouldn't think a skeleton would have a tendon-cy to carry food at all.
  47. [2:14]Iroquois-Pliskin: Ugh.
  48. [2:15]Simon-Blackquill: You don't find this humerus? A pity!
  49. [2:15]*Simon-Blackquill laughs again, slapping his knee.
  50. [2:16]*comic sans serif oooohs and grins harder!!!
  51.
  52. "You think you're pretty humerous--" he starts, and then bursts out laughing.
  53. [2:16]*Iroquois-Pliskin GROANS and drops his face into his hands.
  54. [2:16]*comic sans serif doesn't seem to mind being beaten to the punchline at all!
  55. [2:17]comic sans serif: Hey, buddy. Do you think we're getting... under his skin?
  56. [2:19]Simon-Blackquill: Hm, that would appear to be the case.
  57. [2:19]*Simon-Blackquill glances at the boy.
  58. [2:19]Simon-Blackquill: Come now. He's 'armless.
  59. [2:19]*Simon-Blackquill doesn't laugh at himself for that one though, even he can admit it's bad.
  60. [2:19]*Iroquois-Pliskin glances up at Simon with an annoyed look on his face. Those blue eyes say 'Why.'
  61. [2:21]comic sans serif: Oooh, man, I don't know if I have the backbone to stand up to a look like that.
  62. [2:21]*comic sans serif chuckles!
  63. [2:21]Simon-Blackquill: Clever one.
  64. [2:23]comic sans serif: Hey, you don't gotta flatter me. Anyway, I wanted to ask the kid-- why were you...... skullking around, earlier?
  65. [2:23]*Iroquois-Pliskin sighs through his nose. "... Was trying to figure out where I am."
  66. [2:24]Simon-Blackquill: That sort of thing has a tendon-cy to happen around here.
  67. [2:24]Simon-Blackquill: ...I apologise for using the same pun twice.
  68. [2:25]*comic sans serif laughs harder this time tbh! he loves pissing people off by punning the same thing twice
  69. [2:25]Iroquois-Pliskin: Ahhh... Okay. I'm still in Oregon, right?
  70. [2:26]Simon-Blackquill: ........No.
  71. [2:26]Iroquois-Pliskin: ... Oh.
  72. [2:27]Simon-Blackquill: Your parents must be in Oregon?
  73. [2:27]Iroquois-Pliskin: I don't have parents, but that's where I'm supposed to be.
  74. [2:27]Simon-Blackquill: You don't have parents?
  75. [2:27]comic sans serif: Some people don't.
  76. [2:28]Iroquois-Pliskin: No, I don't. I think. I never met 'em, and my handlers never mention if I do. So.
  77. [2:29]*comic sans serif nods, and leans against the wall, willing to just listen to the kid for a while.
  78. [2:30]Simon-Blackquill: Certainly you must? Though I see it isn't something we should probably discuss at the moment.
  79. [2:30]*Iroquois-Pliskin just gives Simon a funny look.
  80. [2:31]Simon-Blackquill: ...Is there anything I can do for you?
  81. [2:31]Iroquois-Pliskin: Uhhh... D'you know how I can get home? I'm gonna get in trouble.
  82. [2:32]*comic sans serif smile, smile, nod... nod...... nod................ (zzzzzzz)
  83. [2:32]Simon-Blackquill: Not if I can do anything to help it.
  84. [2:32]Simon-Blackquill: Though, that being said... I cannot drive.
  85. [2:32]Simon-Blackquill: I have no way of taking you home.
  86. [2:32]*comic sans serif hopes these dudes enjoy their new snoozing skeleton SKULLpture!
  87. [2:33]*comic sans serif because he is out.
  88. [2:33]Iroquois-Pliskin: Oh.
  89. [2:33]*Iroquois-Pliskin stuffs his hands in his pockets, frowning under his headband.
  90. [2:34]*Simon-Blackquill casually... slides away from the sleeping skeleton and gestures for the kid to follow him downstairs.
  91. [2:34]*Iroquois-Pliskin follows!!
  92. [2:36]*Simon-Blackquill looks at the kid with genuine concern. "My... sincerest apologies. What might your name be, lad?"
  93. [2:37]*Iroquois-Pliskin shrugs. But he pauses for a few moments at the question, before replying, "David."
  94. [2:39]*Simon-Blackquill's own response is a long, awkward pause. This isn't just a child that looks like Pliskin -- David -- this is David. Simon swallows thickly, trying to keep his surprise from displaying on his face. He has to treat the kid as if he doesn't already know him... as an adult. "....Ah. Feel free to call me Simon."
  95. [2:43]*Iroquois-Pliskin nods slowly. "Okay, Simon." He says. His voice tends to be quiet, hoarse, a bit on the muttering side. But it doesn't have that growly quality that probably comes with age and smoke. "... Are you from England?"
  96. [2:47]*Simon-Blackquill chews at the feather in his mouth rather nervously. It's so strange to be talking to the literal childhood of a person he's fairly well-acquainted with... he may need to break out some alcohol later, when David isn't around, to deal with this. Can't let the kid see him drinking, naturally.
  97.
  98. ...As if that will change who he turns into. Simon sighs and tries to forget about it, instead concentrating on the question. "I was raised there for much of my life."
  99. [2:51]*Iroquois-Pliskin listens very quietly. He's a very good listener, it seems. He nudges his foot against the floor- are they downstairs now? "That's kinda neat." He says, hands still in his pockets. "I've never been out of the country before."
  100. [2:57]*Simon-Blackquill starts to lead David into the living room more or less out of habit, since he knows the kitchen isn't a great idea right now. Or at least, he knows that's where the alcohol is located. As if the kid even WANTS to drink. Ugh. "I've been carted around here and there. Isn't always pleasant getting used to various cultures..."
  101. [2:59]*Iroquois-Pliskin follows along, sticking right behind Simon. "I dunno about different cultures, but... I get moved around a lot too." He says, voice still quiet and hoarse. "I get shoved around to different, uhh... Foster homes and stuff. Sort of."
  102. [3:01]*Simon-Blackquill makes for the table... until he remembers that right, child. He decides to sit on the actual couch and be a GOOD influence, patting the cushion next to him as an invitation for David to sit next to him if he wants to. Simon won't force him. "That's rather unfortunate, but I make no judgements."
  103. [3:05]*Iroquois-Pliskin looks at Simon a little funny, when he sees the man go to the table, only to detour to the couch instead. And then he pauses, before hopping onto the couch and sitting down. He even crosses his ankles, making himself comfortable. "It's okay. They teach me lots of stuff." He says, kicking his crossed feet gently, thumping his heels against the couch. "And they give me an allowance so I can do stuff when I have time off."
  104. [3:08]*Simon-Blackquill nods, deciding not to question what sort of things he's being taught at that age... Simon already has a decent enough idea. He doesn't think it'll be a good subject to bring up, more for his own sake than David's. "What sort of things do you enjoy when you have spare time?" That's a much happier subject, after all.
  105. [3:11]*Iroquois-Pliskin could totally stab a dude to death really efficiently right now. Not that he wants to. "Well, this summer, they let me go to a theme park every Saturday. I like going on rides and stuff." He says, actually starting to raise his voice a little. "And I like to go to the movies!"
  106. [3:13]*Simon-Blackquill is pleased that he's getting a bit of noise out of him -- it's strange to see David so quiet, after all. "Hm, yes, those sound like excellent things for a growing boy." Simon isn't actually surprised by any of this. "Do you have any pets? I see a wolf on that shirt you're wearing."
  107. [3:15]*Iroquois-Pliskin was apparently all set to talk about movies!! But then the subject changes to his shirt and... he actually goes a little pink in the face, pulling his vest shut a bit. "Uhhh, no, I'm not... allowed to keep a pet. Too distracting, and I move around too much..." He says, voice going back to a mumble. "I really, really like dogs, though..."
  108. [3:18]*Simon-Blackquill frowns at that. A shame, as a dog would be an excellent companion for a boy that moves around... he supposes that might be why Pliskin grew up to raise fifty of the bloody things. "Ah... If I had a dog I'd be happy to introduce you, but alas, I do not." He does have a hawk, though. But said hawk isn't usually very good with children, so he leaves that bit out. "But I'm sure you'll get a dog some day."
  109. [3:24]*Iroquois-Pliskin bites his lower lip a little, nodding along as Simon talks. At the confidence that he'll be able to get a dog someday, though, the boy finally gives a small smile. "That'd be awesome. I want a husky. They're my favorites." He says, sitting up a bit straighter. "They're like dumber wolves, they're great."
  110. [3:28]*Simon-Blackquill chuckles a bit. Yes, this is definitely the same man. Even at such a young age, Simon can see it. That's charming. Something of a weird sense of relief. "And being dogs, quite loyal and eager to please." They're good animals, Simon doesn't mind dogs... he definitely prefers them to cats, at any rate.
  111.
  112. "Is there anything you'd like to eat or drink?" .....Just don't ask him to cook.
  113. [3:31]*Iroquois-Pliskin starts swinging his legs again, thumping his feet against the couch. "Huskies are cute and great, they're dumb but also really good to train, and they're really strong and fast, and..." He realizes he's trailing off, and rubs at the back of his neck. "I dunno. Water? Kinda hungry. Dunno what I want."
  114. [3:34]*Simon-Blackquill actually smiles a bit at watching the boy rattle on a bit. Now he wishes he hadn't interrupted to ask. "Feel free to sit while I get you something," he offers, though he wouldn't necessarily be offended if David got up to follow him into the kitchen anyway. He's prepared to get something high in nutrients, but decides against it for now... maybe just something sweet. Let's see if Jeb and Tori have any biscuits or snack cakes...
  115. [3:39]*Iroquois-Pliskin stays put at first, a pretty obedient kid. But then it apparently dawns on him that he wasn't ordered nor even recommended that he should stay put, only to 'feel free'. So he hops up to his feet and heads into the kitchen after Simon! "Sooo, ummm..." He says, sidling up to Simon.
  116. [3:40]*Simon-Blackquill is going through what food is available when David comes wandering on in, though Simon doesn't appear to mind. He's already got the water poured into a glass, so there won't be a need to open the refrigerator and expose the alcohol. "Ah, yes?" He turns to look down at him.
  117. [3:48]*Iroquois-Pliskin looks up at Simon from under that bandana, and though they're so much younger and so much less tired, have seen so much less they're the same ice blue eyes Simon may be familiar with, just... bigger. Brighter. And he's got that same perpetual frown, though it seems much less stuck, that same straight nose, and that same straight jaw and chin... albeit this time, underneath a layer of youthful softness. He's so young, still growing into himself, already with the hints of the adult he'll be in another couple decades. And then he looks away from Simon, at the glass of water.
  118.
  119. "Is that my water?" He asks, pointing at the glass.
