To sum up,  this individual enters the community with high spirits and lofty promises.  All goes well until they become offended.  Rather that try to work out the problem,  they become unreasonable,  vindictive, abusive and destructive.  After an episode,  they crawl back crying like it's not their fault and they've changed and please please please

No, you would be wise to distrust this individual and distance yourself.  They have proved over and over that the only person they care about is themself. THey are selfish in RP and while they seem generous, in the end it's always for self aggrandizement and they try to hold it over your head to earn favors and special consideration. Don't accept any gifts from them.(edited)
And if he can slander me after all I've done to try to help him, don't expect him to treat you any differently.
