- There was ash, there was fire and there was flame.
- Despite himself, The man who was once called Shirou Emiya could not help but smirk at the situation he found himself in.
- His home was burning all around him, his Master was behind him and his enemies were before him.
- It was, at this point, a common occurrence for those who resided in Chaldea.
- But more so for him, even if at this time, Chaldea was where the battlefield lay.
- Attacked and betrayed, they were now forced to run, the many employees loyal of Chaldea scattering as they tried to flee to safety.
- And He was Determined to make his Master one of the inevitable few that succeeded.
- Even if it meant his own death, he would delay as much as he was able, to ensure his Master's safety.
- With this in mind he eyed his enemies before him, numerous in number and lacking in skill.
- Good, this meant that the battle would be over fairly quickly.
- [Defend!]
- His Mind's eye Flashed and immediately, torn from his thoughts as he let his body flow, Kanshou and Bakuya danced and spun as he used them to deflect a hail of bullets that sought to end his Master.
- [There!]
- In a flash Kanshou and Bakuya dispersed into motes of light as he twisted on his foot and settled into a familiar pose as he drew on his prana and to begin tracing his desired weapon.
- [Step]
- His body stilled, crackling with a light blue energy that congregated in his hands.
- [Twist]
- His body grew taut as a bow materialized in his hands, it's string slowly being pulled as his body settled into his stance.
- [Trace!]
- The flames licked at his feet as a twisted sword settled on his fingertips.
- And he felt a smirk form on his lips.
- [FIRE!]
- "MY TWISTED CORE IS MADNESS; CALADBOLG!"
- His fingers twitched.
- And the air Roared in fury as space twisted around it.
- The Twisted sword flew, straight and true towards his foes, who only had a moment to shout a warning to each other before they were torn apart by the Twisting sword and eradicated by the following explosion.
- As he watched his handiwork he let out a small sigh of relief, before settling once more into a battle ready stance as his shard ears caught the yells of enemy reinforcements.
- It seemed like his job was not done yet, but it mattered little to him.
- For his objective was the safety of his Master, not his own.
- To that end, he would stay and fight, even if it meant his own demise.
- "I am, The Bone of my sword."
- As those words fell from his lips, the familiar weight of Kanshou and Bakuya fell into his waiting hands, as enemy reinforcements came in numbers more numerous than before.
- It was time to continue the fight.
- For as long as it takes.
