This wasn’t my first visit to Gotham. It was a little strange to be back. It was a different world to be fair, one I was a bit more familiar with. In my last time in Gotham I had saved the city. I had been both the hero it needed and the one it deserved. However that time was not without regrets. With such a huge drop in crime that world’s batman had gone into self-imposed exile robbed of his outlet for his grief and pain. I had saved the city but doomed the hero.

The tale of Batman has always been a tragedy and as this was probably the best version of him. I decided if that at least this once I would save the Batman. I wouldn’t shirk the City. Gotham needed help, that's true but Bruce Wayne deserved peace. He deserved a chance to be happy. As Awesome as a hero as he was, He was always a tortured soul.

In this world I had been a CEO of a large company (Surprise) I had decided to wage a private war on crime gathering my skilled companions and using my incredible wits and wealth to make the world a better place. It wasn’t a bad plan surely but I could do better.

Also it was the middle of the 80s so a lot of the technology I needed didn’t exist… also for some reason, a lot of tech from the 50s were in fashion. I never did understand that. Even as a resident of this world I don’t get it.

I used some of the same tricks to improve Gotham, I cured cancer to start with which made my company a lot of money, then I invested heavily in after school programs, rehabilitation programs and lobbying for increased prison Security. The last one was surprisingly easy, stuff a few Politician’s pockets with money and you would be amazed how quickly things can change. They increased the amount of guards and hired my security firm to help secure Arkham, long story short we stopped the revolving door of breakouts.

I also heavily invested in the internet and creation of the companies that would come to dominate it so we got them early. I kind of needed the tech for certain plans and the money didn’t hurt.

My companions started patrolling Gotham, It was a slow process to meet him. At first they saw his shadow a few times but he was playing shy, then they would spot him from a distance away just watching. Eventually he appeared to me one night out of the blue, scaring the bejesus out of me. One moment he wasn’t there the next he was and I have superhuman senses so that was a hell of a trick.

Anyways we talked, he seemed very interested in why I was fighting crime, honestly it felt a bit like an interrogation more than a conversation but apparently what I said satisfied him and he offered to help me and my group. He said that my friends had potential but were sloppy (By his standards) he could help.

Most of my companions and I received training from him. This was important because I made sure Nekochan could win his trust and friendship. Sadly I might have been able to do what I was planning with magic but… I don’t know; I wanted to help him genuinely overcome his demons and not magic them away.

I also made sure several of his Rogues wouldn’t be created, I cured Harvey Dent of his multiple personalities, I hired Harleen Quinzel away from Arkham to work at my rehabilitation centers. I had already cured cancer so Nora Fries never needed to be cryogenically frozen.

As we worked with Batman we got to know him. He knew my identity after a while I had enough evidence to approach him with his. He admitted it but didn’t want to talk about it, but I had Nekochan. Together we got him to open up a bit, it was uncomfortable and painful honestly. It became clear it was a process that would take time.

During my time working with Bruce, life threw a few wild cards, I gained a collection of colorful rogues all my own. One of my employees made an AI waifu and then accidently uploaded her to the internet where she went batshit insane and tried to take over everything. Galatea as she was named turned out to be a hell of a problem. She became a sentient computer virus and since I was trying to stop her she was using just about everything that was hooked up to the internet to try and kill me. Eventually we managed to purge her from the systems but she had apparently built hidden backups meaning every once in a while we would have to do the whole song and dance again

 One of my company's competitors was forced to close its doors and so their CEO went crazy and decided it was my fault. So he dubbed himself Pyro and tried to burn everything that had anything to do with me down. He was more a nuisance than anything else, still he managed to pop up again and again no matter how many times we locked him away. He would apparently fake being cured of his insanity only to fall off the wagon again and try and murder me. Fun.

Then there was the one world order conspiracy nut who thought I was bringing forth the one world government with my sudden rise to power. Normally I guess someone like that would just complain about it on the internet and call in to conspiracy shows unfortunately this was Gotham so he managed to get involved with the Occult and wound up fusing a demon to his soul when he attempted to curse me to death.

I was kept quite busy but during that time Nekochan and U continued to work with Batman or Bruce as he eventually allowed us to call him. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t pretty. He fought like hell against it at times and ended our friendship multiple times but eventually we helped him grieve and accept his parent’s death. He was able to forgive himself finally and smile genuinely.

He kept on being Batman as he believed that he was doing good work but he seemed to take a renewed interest in being Bruce Wayne and interacting with those close to him. He became something more than just Batman wearing a Bruce Wayne mask. He found a measure of peace.
