  1. There are three states in which beasts can be found in. These stages all worsen as they kill more.
  2.
  3. The Afflicted: The Afflicted are those afflicted with the beast curse. They retain a relatively normal form dependent to what they are(animals can be afflicted too), but may end up showing several deformities as time passes. The curse drives the afflicted to murder their closest friends/loved ones first, as cutting ties allows for them to transform faster.
  4.
  5. Were-beast: A special type of beast. Were-beasts retain their human intelligence yet still carry a natural thirst for blood; sometimes actually losing their intelligence when subjected to blood. A were-beast generally retains a human form but may change into its were-form due to a variety of reasons. E.G Night, exposure to blood/gore.
  6.
  7. Were-beasts are in a category in on themselves, but for the most part are usually weaker than fiends.
  8.
  9. Wights: When an afflicted or werewolf kills enough, they become a wight. A tell-tale symptom of a wight is bright, glowing eyes and even more aggression than usual. Wights are significantly harder to slay, but are prime targets, as they create fiends if left alive for too long.
  10.
  11. Lesser Fiend: Lesser fiends are the first stage of something truly dangerous. They pose great threat to any community they wander through, and are usually the source of many blights spreading throughout the hamlets. While an experienced Shadow Hunter may take down a lesser fiend with relative ease, they still usually pose great danger to anyone taking them head on.
  12.
  13.
  14. Fiend: The final stage of the beast curse. Fiends are a whole new level of beast, and are basically what hunters just try preventing from happening in the first place. Fiends lose all sense of humanity and transform into a creature unrecognizable from their former selves, and are usually prime targets for hunters to knock out before they become even more dangerous.
