- A white haired woman in a hood walked through the unkept garden leading up to the door of a decreped looking castle. She pushed the doors hard, letting the wind blow past her taking her scent with it into the hall. She was greeted by two massive fox demons who were apparently keeping guard over the what seemed to be abandoned castle. Her rainbow eyes shot over to the two demons with a glare, with a whimper and slight confusion they became small fox kits simply staring at her. The woman let a smirk play on her pale lips as she continued down the hall.
- She watched as the fire and ice fairies bickered with each other within the halls. Something along the lines of 'The master is back! We must clean like this!' was being exchanged. Instantly the woman knew what they meant, and she walked towards the great hall. Her heels clicked lightly as she made her way to the beautiful arch and the old, yet beautiful doors that lead everyone into the great hall. She pushed the reluctant doors open, they whined loudly in protest of opening.
- There she started to look around the massive hall seeing the place that she once called home. She looked over at the thrones, where she once sat with her children, and her beloved husband. Her multicolored eyes wandered around the room, looking for one person. Not finding him, she let out a sigh and leaned up against the arch behind her.
- 'I'm home..' She thought, 'But not home at all.' She closed her eyes and her head was bowed to the ground, a piece of white hair fell out of her braid over her face, the blue hood of her cloak covered her face as she looked down.
- A still form was covered in dust and webs of varying ages, his face seemed cast into a permanent discontent. His body was so covered in webs and dust in fact, that his body was no longer visible sitting in the high backed velvet throne. It was as if time seemed to have stopped moving for him.
- But something stirred the all to quiet air of the castle, something dared to venture forth within the halls of his domain. A finger on his right hand moved, then another. A small ball of light lit up the dark halls of the castle, issuing forth from two fingers hidden within the webs that surrounded him. Reaching the center of the dark dimly lit throne room it burst into a brilliant light blinding anyone who looked at it. The mass stirred as the form creaked and cracked slowly coming to a stand. The webs flowed off of him like some type of strange garment, his face was a face of pure rage.
- "Who dares.." The flames about the palace grew in intensity as the room temperature seemed to climb dramatically.
- The woman looked up in complete fear "Oh no...Not hell fire..."She moved towards the bar, away from the thrones, she didn't want to fight Gabriel's demon side right now. She was tired and weak. Her multicolored eyes looked right past the glasses that he now wore and into the icy blue eyes she once fell in love with.
- The temperature was rising, and although she could control all elements, it was still her major weakness. Especially Gabriel Dark's hell fire.
- "GABRIEL STOP!" All the woman could do is cry out to him, she covered herself in a frost and a mix of shadows and ice started to swirl around the room, just to keep it bearable for her to stay in there.
- "Dear god, please stop." Her voice was weak, her white and blue gown which was caked with the blood others and mud began to singe.
- Being as weak as she was, there were scars all over her body, rather than being the perfect body that she normally kept. She looked up simply holding a blue rose. Her name was spelled different, and her body was different, but her scent and eyes were the same.
- Though the anger within him would not be quelled it seemed. His body looked as though it had slept for years, living in his own personal hell. Seeing this woman only seemed to remind him of his loss and heart ache, the skin began to flake off around his eyes revealing ebony colored skin. His eyes began to change to a reddish hue as a inhuman growl issued from his throat.
- The fae that had been scattered through out the room that would usually accompany him into any type of situation fled in pure terror. The ground beneath his feet began to ripple as the heat of his body grew into an inerno causing the webs around him to combust.
- "You dare.. " his voice was between a growl and whisper, but in the quiet halls of the castle it seemed as loud as a scream. The flowers behind the throne began to wilt as everything directly around him began to have its life drawn from it.
- Kassandra drew back into herself at the heat, and his voice. Out of pure reflex, the shadows consumed her, whirling around her with ice shards piercing everything near her. When they spread back out, to keep the air cool enough for her, she seemed to have changed.
- Her pure white hair was now up in a bun, her rose circlet had vanished into an ice circlet. Her torn dress was replaced by a black corset and leather bottoms, with thigh high boots. She had two daggers on each leg, and her hands were covered by half gloves.
- There were a few key things to give away that this woman truly was the soul of Cassandra Dark...Her necklace. A beautiful black heart with a crown that Gabriel had given her, and her wedding ring. She never went without it. Her eyes went from being a muticolored rainbow, to a color that meant she had no hope...Her eyes were now an icy grey.
- Her voice changed from velvety and loving to stern and cold. "Then kill me Gabriel, kill me as many times as you want. But remember that this time it was you who killed your wife, not some bastard from the past." The voice she used was often referred to as the 'fighting' or 'commanding' voice. It wasn't sweet at all. It had a cold sting to it.
- Everyone knew that you'd never see Kassandra cry, yet here she was speaking coldly to her beloved with tears streaming down her face. Her eyes were glaring at him in absolute hopelessness, believing that he no longer loved her.
- "I've travled, killing others, as many as I had to just because they soiled your name. Because they threatened your kingdom. I killed friends because they wanted to assassinate you! Yet here you stand ready to kill me." She bared her fangs a tad, gritting her teeth as she spoke, trying to keep her voice from breaking, "Well here I am LORD Gabriel Dark. Once upon a time, I was known as Cassandra Dark, and here I am as Kassandra Rose. You want to kill me, THEN DO IT ALREADY GODDAMNIT!" She let all her shadows and ice fade. She could only hope that he would come to his senses. She stood there, arms out waiting for the killing blow for this body.
- flakes of ivory skin fell from his face and immediately burst into flames as his eyes to turned blood red. His voice was low and damming, "You dare.. in her voice.. "
- His mind seemed cracked and tattered, as if looking through a window that fragmented everything. A tail, usually hidden slinked into view, as black as the ebony skin beginning to show itself.
- He launched at her, the air rippled with his every movement. In an instant he was in front of her a hand reaching for her throat. "You dare.." again his damming voice echoed through the halls of the once quiet throne room.
- Kassandra's hopeless eyes looked up at him. The last time she had the icy grey eyes was when she had lost hope in the battle between gods, when she had to flee, pregnant with their youngest daughter, and puling their oldest along.
- She looked at him, tears still streaming, she moved his hand and put her hands on his chest, she wasn't stupid, he was just as weak and as frail as she was. But they were both too prideful to admit that. She let some of her non-harmful frost move off her hands onto his skin, the skin of the demon half that was Gabriel Dark.
- Resting her head on his chest, she let out a sigh. Her voice was now softer, too quiet with the roar of flames everywhere, but she knew that he could hear her.
- "If you're going to kill me, then do it already. I will simply let my soul fly into another body, and I will come back and do this all over again. I will not scream, beg for mercy, nor will I cry aloud. I will keep my honor as a mut blood and keep coming back. You can kill me a thousand times...But I will always come back to you my love." Although her voice was softer, it was still that stern voice that always got her point across.
- The flames that surrounded the throne room of the castle seemed to simmer and almost die out as Gabriel's eyes suddenly shifted completely back to there normal icy blue. His moth became slightly ajar as he stared through the wall behind her, seeing nothing but everything at once.
- A tear strayed its way down his face as he stood there rigidly, not seemingly believing what was happening. The skin about his eyes began to regrow as he shakily began to tilt his head down to look at her. Something he had not felt in a very long time began to stir him, his heart, which had been silent for eons now.
- "Cassandra?.." was the only response he could manage to mutter between his disbelief and pure sadness.
- She let a faint smile play on her pale lips before collapsing to her knees. Her body was covered in a cold sweat and started to shake uncontrollably. She leaned against the bottom of the bar with her eyes closed, when she opened them back up they were once again the multicolored eyes that he knew so well.
- Her breathing was heavy, the scars on her skin more apparent now since her entire body had a warm pink color to it from the extreme heat, there was no way she could defend herself against it; with her being so weak.
- This was the closest to death that she had been since she lost her old body years ago. Her words were all airy and almost whispers, but she knew how his hearing was when he realized who he was talking to.
- "You...of all people...should know...I never actu...actually die...I only..only fly to another bod--" She rested her head back, not able to talk well at all. Her entire body feeling like it was on fire.
- Watching her slowly fall to the ground, Gabriel's mind flashed to the image of his wife dying all over again. The pieces of his mind that were once shattered began to realign, showing a clearer picture of what was before him.
- Bending down, he kneeled before her looking up into her face. A white gloved hand reached out to the tears that stained her face and he wiped them away. He studied her scarred body, seeming to witness her countless battles in his mind. His hand came away from her face and began to trace the various scars that marred her other wise perfect skin.
- opening her eyes to look at him as he wiped away her tears. She leaned into the warmth of his hand. She watched him as he traced over the scars of her skin, her breathing slowly becoming normal. Her skin was still pink due to her lack of being able to completely heal herself.
- Now since her make up was washed away from her tear, the dark circles from lack of sleep were obvious, her cheeks were sunken in. Kassandra was thinner than normal. If she had her entire strength, then she'd have no problem standing up to Gabriel. But with living off the land for so long, and never being able to sleep completely, it had weakened her. To the point that she couldn't even make an ice crystal at the moment.
- Leaning in he kissed her forehead, it was unusually warm and he suddenly realized her predicament. Reaching down, he scooped her up and into his arms carrying her to the fire. Reaching a gloved hand into the flames they slowly turned blue drawing heat away from the room instead of providing it. His breath could be visibly seen now, but at least now she would be able to heal. Ever so carefully he sat himself down near the fire with her in his arms, holding her as close as possible.
- "When I heard.." He cleared his throat, as he had not talked for many years. "When I had heard you were gone, I hid away within the castle walls.. content to never see a soul again." He chuckled, it almost seemed a foreign sound to him.
- "The kits guarded the castle as I slept.." He looked down at her face again, "How..How did you.. ?" again, he couldn't formulate the words to express himself. Instead, he just stared at her expectantly.
- She smiled and took in the cold fire, breathing the blue flames into her lungs. She kissed his cheek and released half the flames back to their warm glory. They were now sitting in their own elements, fire and ice. Her strength only grew a little bit, since she was so weak before, it would take a lot before she could heal. Kassandra being who she is though, wouldn't let Gabriel sit in freezing fire that could hurt him.
- "I am a soul hopper my love. I just never said anything about it because I never thought that I would lose my original body. But just a moment before I blew Azeroth and myself to dust, I was able to release my soul from my body. It took me months to find a body that could handle all my demons and my powers, then I found Kassandra. She was going to commit suicide, but I convinced her to simply let me release her soul and use her body. Her body came with other powers...obviously I was more concerned with my ice and shadows. I found out why she wanted to commit suicide in the kingdom on the other side of the world... And had to kill my way out. Through the years of traveling, I have gotten my poison blood back, my eyes back, my voice, my reputation, my powers, and my way back home. That's why I'm so weak, I haven't eaten in years, I've hardly slept. I was always fighting. I had no money, so I couldn't go into a tavern. Probably the worst years of my life."
- She laughed lightly, "But, then again, we both know that I love to play with fire... Even if its my biggest weakness." She smiled lovingly at him and put an icy hand on his cheek.
- "All I wanted was to come home. To see my family again... To see you again." She looked around, "I see the girls have left..." She let out a sigh, knowing that both probably hated her.
- She rested her head against his chest, she could feel the warmth radiating off his body.. A comforting feeling to her. "Our kingdom is in ruins...Maybe we should start fresh."
- Gabriel's mind was slowly realigning itself, the broken pieces that had shattered long ago were falling into place. But even then, his mind still found it hard to come to terms with its current situation. The body she had found herself in was similar but far apart from his long lost wife.
- Though his mind found it hard, his soul did not. It sung at such a beautiful tone when next to her he thought the whole of the world could hear it. He smiled down at her and kissed the tip of her nose playfully. Something he had missed for some time.
- "When you left, my mind shattered; I could not be a father or a ruler. After a short while the kingdom fell into disrepair and my mind fully fell to pieces." He chuckled softly, almost a playful laugh at his own ignorance.
- "The girls were grown by then and had already begun moving on, when I fell into my deep sleep they had already given up hope in making me happy again. They are off on there own, ruling and living in there own kingdoms now. The fae have kept the castle from falling completely apart it seems and the Kits have protected me all these years."
- Waving a hand, nearby fae who had hidden behind the fire place who had looked on curiously yipped and came over at attention. "Please little ones, food for your master and mistress" Both fae looked at one another, shrugged and flew off to find something that could be edible in the whole of the castle.
- Again he looked down at her and with a gloved hand combed a stray piece of curled white hair behind her right ear, "how I've missed you my love".
- She wrinkled her nose at his kiss and laughed. Then a grimace fell upon her face, "Natasha and Alice.. They hate me don't they?" She let out a sigh, then looked back at him, "At least I have you still. As I said, we need a new start. Completely... Nothing from all of this."
- Kassandra stood up and stretched, every joint in her body popping as she did so. The shadows made a general whirl wind around her, and when they had faded away, she was wearing a classic for Gabriel. Her Snow White hair was down and in curls, while her multicolored eyes were outlined in black eyeliner with black and red eye shadow, her once pale lips were now a dark almost blood red color that contrasted drastically with her ivory skin. She wore a red corset with black lace roses on it, and a floor length black skirt that in the front, two 'corners' were tucked into the waist band to show her legs. She wore a belt that fell just perfectly on her hips that held several daggers on it and a pouch. She wore ankle high slightly heeled boots that she could easily run in. What you couldn't see were the two sais that were strapped to her upper thighs under the skirt, nor the small bodice dagger that had some of her poisonous blood dried on it.
- She moved to the bar and hopped over it, normally it would have been with ease, but it was obvious that she actually had a little trouble. She took out a key from her pouch and unlocked a hidden cabinet and grabbed a bottle of pure healing blood and beckoned Gabriel to her, "Come here my love. Join me for a drink."
- Watching her struggle slightly to get over the counter was a bit of a pain to watch for Gabriel, he was used to her being athletic and nimble. Not the least clumsy and weak. Though in his current situation, he wasn't much better off. Standing up his bones also creaked and groaned, but eventually he made his way to the counter from the flames and sat himself in front of her smiling.
- He was enjoying her current attire, it reminded him of days long ago in a small tavern aptly named Tavern Death, where it more than earned its name. That's where he had met Cass, full of vigor, youth, power and as sharp as a dagger when you ticked her off. That ultimately drew him to her, that unique combination was beautiful to him.
- Snapping out of his day dream for the moment he grabbed a shot glass of the rose colored liquid that sat before him and tossed it down his throat in one go grimacing slightly as the liquid dampened his other wise dusty throat. "You know, I was just thinking.." He said as he sat down the glass waiting for another shot, "..about those times way back when, at the very beginning. Remember our dance?"
- He started laughing softly remembering it himself, "We were so young back then and look at us now, you can barely make it over a bar and I can barely move out of a throne with my bones creaking"
- Kass poured herself a mug full from the bottle, and then instead of another shot, gave Gabriel a mug full as well. She looked at him and simply said "Just down it." She then did the same for herself.
- After drinking the blood, she could visibly be seen healing. The scars on her body faded away, the dark circles under her makeup disappeared, her arms seemed to fill out again, her skin seemed to have a slight glow about it, and her hair seemed to be fuller with more body and shine to the curls. A smile was dancing on her lips as she moved about the bar putting the blood away and grabbing her favorite blood wine, 'Deadly Kiss,' and pouring some into a wine glass.
- She looked into the distance with the same smile, "Yes, I remember our dance, on the lake that I froze behind the graveyard that was behind Tavern Death..."
- Turning on her toes, she looked at the fire place that was above the bar, leaning against the counter behind her; her back to Gabriel. "We were young then...And also incredibly naive to the world. We only cared about the tavern, and who came in...Then we grew up."
- Her voice was like silk again, no longer weak and frail, it had a ring about it that had always captivated whomever she was talking to. "We've fought battles we never wished to fight, and we even ruled over an empire, if you will, and so on. We've had our hands in everything for years. We are older yes, but my love, we are far from being over. I wondered the earth for years trying to find my way home, and you sat in your throne for years...Just lost within your own mind. All in all, anyone can overcome whatever ails them. We always have."
- She turned back around to face Gabriel as she lifted the crystal glass to her crimson lips to take a sip of the almost burgundy colored wine. Setting the glass down, it made a light 'clink' sound against the marble counter top, the colors in her eyes almost seemed to swirl as she gazed into the icy blue eyes that she loved so much.
- "Now, you don't honestly think that this small hiccup will stop us do you?" The infamous smirk was now playing across her crimson lips, while her eyes almost said 'I dare you.' They were both known for having silver tongues, but it was always trouble when they started to use this on each other...It normally meant that the world should duck and cover.
- Watching as she filled out again did wonders to bring his wife's visage into full view. She was once again the lovely rose in a sea of grey, always beautiful and lovely. In fact, looking at her a little closer he could tell she tailored the garment to her previous unhealthy unkempt shape. Now she was almost falling out of the tight corset and it created quite a sight. Taking a moment he admired her and chuckled at her words before downing his own mug.
- It was like drinking pure life, what wrinkles he had received through the many years of sleep departed him leaving his skin smooth and youthful. The arthritis in his hands disappeared completely and he visibly sat up straighter on the bar stool. This Blood Wine was reserved for only them and them alone. It had the power to extend life and to restore it. It truly was made from the blood of a pure angel, gifted to them by the gods.
- Taking a moment to stretch out his more youthful bones, he grinned a devilish grin, "Why my dear, if memory serves me right, nothing could stop us." laughing he continued, his voice teasing, "but looking at you at this angle, that corset might stop any man in his tracks." He leaned back to savor the slight blush that he knew was coming and laughed a full bell like laughter.
- As Gabriel laughed, in the distance came a handful of fae of varying colors of red and blue carrying what looked like a large tray of fruits and various meats. The food he had ordered the two fae to bring him from before. They seemed happy and delighted to have there two masters home once again.
- Kassandra looked down at her corset and a rose colored pink graced her ivory cheeks. She quickly had the shadows swallow her for a moment while her corset was re-fitted to her proper body. When the shadows disappeared she was still completely covered in blood stained white rose petals, which fell to the floor as she moved. Although she wasn't the most modest person around, she still had her boundaries. "Well that was embarrassing."
- She laughed lightly at the incident, the laugh coming out like alto chimes being blown in the wind. A loving smile was playing on her lips as she looked over the renewed Gabriel, he looked just like the man she fell in love with many years ago.
- "How I miss the old days.. When we could simply be as brutal and crude as we wanted." She smirked at her comment thinking back at how out right blunt she use to be.
- Coming out of her own day dream she snapped her fingers loudly and all the shadows left the room quickly rushing to the neglected garden out front and all around the castle, restoring everything to its previous glory.
- "Finally, this place doesn't look like an old dungeon." She poured Gabriel a glass of 'Deadly Kiss' and took another sip from her glass.
- Laughing again at her words and admiring her handy work with the shadows he watched as the fae prepared the food in front of them for there sup. Reaching over he grabbed the glass of Deadly kiss and took a sip savoring the flavor and deep tone of the wine. Cassandra had always been known for her custom wines, even back in the days of Tavern Death. Seeing the food ready and waiting for them he grabbed some cheese and began nibbling on it while studying Cassandra.
- Of course she was lovely, and of course she was still his wife in soul. But the body was ever so slightly different. Her breasts seemed slightly fuller then Cassandra's old body for one and she seemed a few inches shorter. Once she had blonde hair and now it was snow white, cascading in a flourish of curls down her back. The face was also very similar, the nose a tad smaller perhaps but it seemed Cass's soul had managed to some how shape the body she inhabited into something as close as possible to her old body. This had to have taken countless years as it wasn't something Cass knew how to do and must have done it subconsciously. After finishing his cheese he decided to eat a few of the strawberries, they were a brilliant red and probably gathered from the garden since they were always in season around here.
- "Tell me Cass, tell me a bit about your travels, I've been sleeping for so many years I don't even know how many years I have slept now." His voice was inquisitive, but his eyes still studied her body carefully. He wanted to memorize it, but he was more curious about her time spent away from him.
