  5. Pitch: The Free City of Braunstein has been known for its ambivalent attitudes towards the Enlightenment. Though it is well-known for its excellent research university, the city is still dominated by a conservative, feudal elite. Tensions between the local intelligentsia and the Prussian aristocracy had always been a part of the Free City, but a careful balance had been maintained by the local Landwehr.

  9. The year is 1792. The French Revolutionary Army has just defeated Prussia at the Battle of Valmy, and is now launching a counterattack into Prussian lands. As the French armies marches towards the Free City, a student riot breaks out at Braunstein University, between those who would welcome the "liberators" and those who would stand against the "invaders". This riot has been suppressed by the local Landwehr...but it's the aftermath of that riot that will decide the fate of the Free City. Will it survive the French onslaught? Or be "liberated"?
