  1. "Keep an eye out, they've been getting smarter," you warn.
  2.
  3. "Yes, ma'am," your fellows acknowledge.
  4.
  5. The cool water sweeps over you, waves born of artificial movement going to and fro as you swim just beneath the surface. You carefully approach the metal behemoth before you: a Martian Battleship. Fumbling with your bag, you reach in, the tips of your fingers brushing hard metal. The mines.
  6.
  7. "Set for...15 minutes," you order, adjusting your own mines for the coordinated strike. Twisting a knob, you remove the cap on the magnet and snap the mines onto the metal hull with a sharp clang. They're not going to be moving anymore. You give each a hard knock just in case.
  8.
  9. "Ready?" you ask. You hear affirmatives. "Start...now!" You punch the front of the mines, tripping the timers. Fifteen minutes from now, this harbor is going to wake up to some nasty surprises. "Let's get out of here. Boser, Ogawa, you're with me. Rae, take the others. We'll take the far side of the harbor. Move."
  10.
  11. You join up with your allies, one on each side. Boser swims close, just barely out of the wash of your Substriker. Ogawa maintains more distance on her side, but not too much.
  12.
  13. "You think they'll notice us again?" Boser asks.
  14.
  15. "Not likely," Ogawa responds. "They'd have to have moved some of their—"
  16.
  17. Hiiisssssschchchchchchchch. (Not sure if I'd use the telebot chatter here. Perhaps replace it with 'A splash interrupts her' or something.)
  18.
  19. "Yes," Ogawa corrects, "they'll notice us."
  20.
  21. "Break off!" you yell. "10 meters distance, don't clump up!" Dammit. The harbor entrance is still several hundred feet ahead and those telebots are fast. The sharpness of sound under the water makes it impossible to know where they're coming from with any accuracy, too. You won't know where they are until they're nearly upon you. Dammit!
  22.
  23. "Understood," Ogawa answers. She drifts off just out of view, with Boser follows her example.
  24.
  25. You should still have some time until they hit. Luckily they're not armed with those sonic weapons, so they'll have to get in close where you can hit them back. Still—
  26.
  27. "Ahh!" Boser screams.
  28.
  29. "Boser. Boser! Dammit!" you yell. As you're about to go after your (teammate/friend/subordinate/etc), you see a second telebot dart past you...
  30.
  31. [ ] Dart in and tackle
  32. [ ] Close and shoot
  33. [ ] Deal with your own shit
  34. [ ] Other – Grappleshield
  35.
  36. "Ogawa! Moving to Boser, maintain distance!"
  37.
  38. "Yes, ma'am."
  39.
  40. Gritting your teeth, you shove your grips forward, urging the Substriker onward. You don't have time to ready your weapons, not if you want to help before they tear her apart... In a second or two, you close the distance between yourself and Boser.
  41.
  42. "Help! Help, it's on me!" she screams, struggling with the mechanical contraption. It tears at her suit, drawing blood—
  43.
  44. "Not today!" you yell, almost running directly into the tentacled beast. Startled, it drops its hold on Boser just enough to be ripped free. The claws scratch Boser something terrible, but she'll live.
  45.
  46. Hiiissssschchchchchch!!!!! it menaces, trying to wrap itself around you. (Again, not sure on the use of the bot's sound there. Could be a kneejerk on my part, but I'd avoid it personally.)
  47.
  48. "Just try it," you warn, spawning a magical barrier between (the Martian/the telebot/your aggressor) and you. Blue orbs in its 'head' flash in response, its tentacles extending to reach the edge of the shield.
  49.
  50. Kkkkkkccccccssssss!!! it hisses, claws finding the limits of your shield. The orbs turn green as the tentacles continue extending, coming around the edge to rip you apart! They're moving too quickly, you're not going to have enough time— (You know what I'm going to say. The sounds seem a bit too... Syfy Original Movie to me, if you know what I mean.)
  51.
  52. And then you catch a blue glint speeding towards you. "Got you!" you celebrate, spinning just so. The telebot turns around, its operator confused by your exclamation. For a split second, it sees an object remarkably like itself hurtling towards you with enough energy to ruin your shield.
  53.
  54. Chchchchchchkkk!! it curses, withdrawing its tentacles on one side as it tries to use the edge of your shield to twist out of the way. With a (smirk/grin), you dart downward; your shield has already been cancelled (This sentence is a liiiiittle awkward. Consider rephrasing). The bot screeches an inhuman screech (replace one of the instances of 'screech' with a synonym) as the two collide at incredible speed. They shatter into bits, the ocean alighting as minor explosions punctuate the destruction of their drives.
  55.
  56. "Thank(s?) you!" Boser says, rushing to hug you.
  57.
  58. "We're not out of the woods yet! Get back in formation! And for god's sake, get your weapons ready!" You do the same (I'd rephrase this as "...ready!" you grunt, doing the same). Dammit. You should have had it out already (I know 'it' here is the weaponry, but a little more description can't hurt). You won't forget, next time.
