minji didn’t like the idea of being an idol at first, she loved the music, but not the restrictions that came with it. but, her friend was planning on auditioning, and asked minji to do it with her so she wasn’t alone. as she found herself practicing more and more and learning more about it, she fell in love with the idea debuting and singing in a group. her dream was to be at cube ent, but she was rejected from her audition and was heartbroken. she decided to try again with sm, but wasn’t hopeful. however she did manage to pass the audition and became a trainee at age 16. she moved to seoul away from her family and recently graduated from sopa. the first year it was difficult for her to be in seoul, but she learned to love it and only visits daegu for the holidays. her younger brother also plans to audition for various companies in the future.
