  2. The Notebook: Analyze 2 paintings and one magazine photograph of your choice. For painting #1 describe the intensity (bright, dark, low, etc.), the direction (front, back, down, etc.), and the color, and how these are used to achieve the selective visibility, revelation of form, atmosphere and plausibility within the painting. For painting #2 describe how the qualities and functions are being used to achieve the composition within the painting. For picture #3 describe the intensity, direction, and color and how these are used to achieve the selective visibility, revelation of form, atmosphere, plausibility, and composition within the picture. Descriptions must have a minimum of seven complete sentences for each picture. The notebook must contain a title page containing the project number, student’s name, instructor’s name, course number, and date. The notebook must have a picture on the left page and the description on the right page. Use as much detail as possible to describe your picture but please keep it to one page per picture.
  3. Materials: Color copies of paintings and a photo from a magazine. Hint- National Geographic magazines are the best choice for these projects
