- The term "Evil" by all natural laws should not apply to an entire species of anything. The Pokémon of this type are all thought to be extinct. They were intelligent, and hyper aggressive, especially those of the duel type (Evil / Mystic) which were often regarded as "Dark Lords" who would influence the more animal like Pokémon to become aggressive and attack humans and other Pokémon.
- After a long war, several of the ancient types were drastically reduced in numbers and the Evil types thought to be completely wiped out. Researchers believe however that like many Pokémon "legends" that the story should be taken with a grain of salt; after all how many legends make some legendaries seem like unique gods only to turn out to be entire albeit rare species. It is believed that several "Dark" and "Ghost" types are in fact descended from the so called "Evil" types. Possibly marked only by having a higher aggression, intelligence, and abilities that could be described as scary to ordinary humans.
- Evil types are resistant to Dark type attacks, likewise Dark types are resistant to Evil type attacks.
- Evil types are also resistant to Poison type attacks, and Poison types resistant to Evil type attacks.
- This same shared resistance also exists between Evil and Ghost types.
- Evil types are strong against: Normal, Steel, Grass, and Water types (believed to be because they pollute them)
- Evil types are weak against: Sound, Light, Mystic, Fighting, and Psychic types
- (an Evil /Dark type would receive normal damage from Psychic attacks, but double damage from Light or Fighting types even before the additional boost if used by a Light or Fighting type)
- The legend claims these conflicts are why Sound, Light, and Mystic practically vanished (which is in contrast to another manuscript that claims a different explanation), and why Fighting and Psychic types *as pure Fighting or Psychic types* are so few in diversity with just a few solo types in different regions.
- Some researchers have petitioned the removal of the term "Evil" given its connotations, and suggested the use of "Demon", "Monster", and "Abyss"
- As an oddity: Dragon types have a 25% chance of their attacks being "super effective" when used against an Evil type, which may speak of an unusual relation between the two.
