it is said that the use of fire, so many thousands of years ago, was what led humanity to its dominion over this world.
Fire gave them the energy to do more than just eat. fire gave them time. Time to think. Time to dream. time to find themselves.
Fire awakened the collective spirit of mankind.
This spirit, this aura, is the magic that makes so many things possible. and yet, is so often an avenue for unseen darkness to emerge. the human psyche is a battlefield, and it is projected upon this world bathed in its aura.

But, humans, in all of their forms, are not the only ones to reach this point.

temporics, the children of time, had also undergone a similar awakening upon their home world of Korous. their ambitions however led to their downfall, and their youngest were evacuated off of the planet for their safety.
having landed on earth in ancient times, they grew alongside the humans, and together they maintained their society. the temporics, too young when they had left to know the true horrors of their origins, knew only of the legends that surrounded them, encoded in the books they had with them.

sometimes I wonder, what horrors, what truth, lie beyond the legends of my own origin.
My name is Coda, and I am on a quest to find my real parents and get off this island.
Frostelle is no place for a temporic to live. It's likely only by the grace of Tempus that I was gifted with the fiery aura needed to survive here. Different people have different auras, after all.
After this hike I've been hired to guide on, I won't need to worry about the cold anymore though.
With the cash from that, I'll be able to get a ticket to the ferry easy.
