  7. Memo is no longer Invite-Only by CAT
  8. CAT made AU an OP.
  9. CURRENT universallyCognizant [CUC] RIGHT NOW responded to memo.
  10. CUC: I'll just watch for now, things to do.
  11. CAT: This is the pregame show, like I said. The actual thing probably won't start for around fifty minutes. I just want to save some time.
  12. CUC: Ah.
  13. CURRENT absoluteCoolness [CAC] RIGHT NOW responded to memo.
  14. CAC: Well, let's see if I can do my math review in that time...

  16. CAT made UC an OP.
  17. CUC ceased responding to memo.
  18. CAT: Alright. Want to try to start, or no?
  19. CAC: Eh, if its only us two, probably not tbh
  20. CAC: Writing dating sim stuff
  21. CAT: Fair enough.
  22. CURRENT abyssalUnderlord [CAU] RIGHT NOW responded to memo.
  23. CAU: I'm cool with whatever though
  24. CAT: Hmm, if you want to go ahead and play yourself, I'm fine with that. If not, same thing.
  25. CAT: Honestly, I think I'm just going to binge-watch Bloodborne and create stuff for next session.
  26. CAT: Bloodborne playthroughs, that is, of course.
  27. CAC: Hmm, maybe you should remind Crystal?
  28. CAC: Of this memo
  29. CAT: Shrug.
  30. CAT: Welcome.
  31. CAT made TG an OP.
  32. CAT: Would you like a log with multiple logceptions, Twin?
  33. CURRENT transcribedGuardian [CTG] RIGHT NOW responded to memo.
  34. CTG: uh
  35. CTG: don't know if I can handle that
  36. CTG: a tldr would be nice
  37. CTG: if you can manage it
  38. CAT: Alright, let's think.
  39. CAT: Uh, so you're a Grayholdian military IT worker who won a starship via gambling, got caught, and sent to the Facet Nine sector of the Void to look for a number of VOID SHARDs to help repair a rip in spacetime.
  40. CAT: We've got two of those right now.
  41. CAT: On the way, casual shit happened, such as having a robot surgically make us a gem.
  42. CTG: you have IT workers in grayhold?
  43. CAT: Well, I'm not involved at all. This is more of a His Imminence thing.
  44. CAT: Mainly because this has nothing to do with DTG anymore.
  45. CTG: okay.
  46. CTG: how many facets are there
  47. CAT: Basically, it is a mix of Bloodborne, HLD, and SU.
  48. CAT: Also, as many as there is space in the Void, which is to say, whatever your imagination can conceive and number.
  49. CAT made GG an OP.
  50. CTG: okay, I think that's guude
  51. CTG: is there an inventory of some kind
  52. CAT: I should also note that we found another gem inside of a gigantic robot Centurion boss monster of death, freed her, and now we're best buddies in crime.
  53. CAT: Well, we can get to that, if you'd like to begin.
  54. CURRENT godmoddedGolem [CGG] RIGHT NOW responded to memo.
  55. CGG: ah, a lovely day for jackson gettıng kıcked off the 20
  56. CGG: ...
  57. CTG: huh.
  58. CTG: alright.
  59. CAU: Our relationship status remains "Amicable." Yesterday saw a net gain of 0 Relationship Points.
  60. CAT: Would you like to begin the game?
  61. CAC: I assume most relationship points are invisble?
  62. CAC: >Yes

  87. CAC: >Quit
  88. CTG: haha, kek
  89. CAT: You can't quit now!
  90. CAT: You're in my land now. The only way to quit is to play.

  96. CAT: Game loaded successfully. Please enter command.
  97. CTG: > Load up inventory.
  98. CAT: You can't do that. You are currently a teardrop lapis lazuli gem in the hands of Cyan. You're also dead because of an authorial coin flip.
  99. CTG: what the shit.
  100. CAC: >Cyan: Look around
  101. CTG: maybe I should have asked for that TL;DR??
  102. CTG: I mean, pastebin
  103. CAT: It isn't that important, really.
  104. CAT: You'll respawn soon enough.
  105. CAC: Basically, we respawn from a gem
  106. CAT: Cyan looks about. Standard hallway, thankfully no Cerulean Horrors.
  107. CAC: Cyan's the other gem person thing
  108. CAT: We are the Crystal Gems.
  109. CTG: > Okay, cool.
  110. CAC: >Forward
  111. CAT: Oh, here you go. The gem floats into the air, glowing with a blue energy.
  112. CTG: > Estimate how long it will take for you to respawn?
  113. CTG: oh okay, kek
  114. CAT: Soon enough, it forms the shape of your body, and you are back. Azure Lapis is back in the game of death.
  115. CAT: By which I mean you are.
  116. CTG: > NOW load up inventory.
  117. CAT: Whose inventory?
  118. CAC: >Both
  119. CAT: The ship's, yours, or Cyan's?
  120. CAC: Twin, this probably won't help
  121. CAC: All the names and such
  122. CAC: >Cyan and yours
  123. CAT: AZURE INV: Lapotron Power Core, Medkit, Water Vial x3, Gluon Destabilizer x1, Welding Equipment, Cthk'aryvt's Blessing/Curse x4, Gem Fragment x3.
  124. CAT: CYAN INV: δ-ψ-φ-Bioschema, Deactivated Vitae Canister, Medkit.
  125. CAT: You sure you don't want to check up on the ship's storage?
  126. CTG: > Politely ask what Cthk'aryvt's Blessing and δ-ψ-φ-Bioschema are
  127. CAC: Oh right, we picked up a ton of crud...
  128. CAC: >Check ship storage
  129. CAC: The bioschema is
  130. CAT: ((One at a time.))
  131. CTG: which is to say, I do that
  132. CAC: A cube that does plasma stuff
  133. CTG: okay
  134. CAC: The Blessing/Curse thing is.... unknown?
  135. CAC: Some eldritch thing
  136. CAT: The Cthk'aryvt's Blessing/Curse is a vial of fluid you got from that Monolith back in the Mu Sector.
  137. CAC: Powers up when we kill gems?
  138. CTG: okay
  139. CAT: It did start laughing when you killed people, yes.
  140. CGG: waıt, permanently kıll
  141. CTG: okay then.
  142. CAT: Yes.
  143. CGG: or temporarıly kıll
  144. CGG: ok
  145. CAT: Now what?

  148. CAC: Nice.
  149. CAC: Hmm.
  150. CAT: You can't really access any of that, seeing as the ship is behind that entrance a while back.
  151. CAC: >Recall what we still need to make the second drone thing
  152. CAT: You need but a single Lapis Stone. You don't know what that is, though.
  153. CAC: >Wonder if you could make it using your gem
  154. CAT: You really don't see permanently dying as worth it.
  155. CAC: >Anyways, forward
  156. CAT: You walk down the hall, Cyan right at your side.
  157. CAT: Yeah, her ankle is still somewhat damaged from that incident earlier.
  158. CAT: Continuing to walk down the hall, you enter a somewhat dark room of vast size.
  159. CTG: > Try to see if you can scan for where the nearest enemy is
  160. CAT: You don't really have a scanner. You have the light in your phone, though.
  161. CAC: >Shine it around
  162. CTG: > Okay, use that
  163. CAT: Looking around, the two of you see what appears to be a large drop into the abyss at about halfway through the floor. There's a platform in the midst of that, leading over to the other half of the room.
  164. CAT: Of course, over there, there are a variety of hooded beings with plague doctor masks upon their faces.
  165. CAC: Oh boy.
  166. CAT: They haven't really noticed you yet.
  167. CAC: >See if there's anything on your side
  168. CAT: Nothing. Well, there is a medkit in the corner. You can see it clearly, with its fluorescent pale green paint.
  169. CTG: > Take that shit
  170. CAC: >No
  171. CTG: why?
  172. CAC: What if it's a trap or something
  173. CAT: Please choose a definite option.
  174. CTG: could it be a trap
  175. CTG: yeah
  176. CAC: It's not going anywhere
  177. CAC: Probably
  178. CTG: > Leave it for now.
  179. CAT: You do that.
  180. CAC: >Count number of beings
  181. CAT: Hmm. Looks to be thirteen.
  182. CTG: > Are they holding anything?
  183. CTG: > Also, is there a door behind them.
  184. CAC: >See if they contain any water based blood/liquids
  185. CAT: You would have to engage them in combat to get such a detailed description.
  186. CAT: There is indeed a doorway behind them, and their veins appear to run with the Elixir.
  187. CAC: What's that
  188. CAT: That is to say, non-water.
  189. CAT: Dryblood, and all that.
  190. CTG: hm.
  191. CAT: These parts of the Void tend to be Dryblood areas.
  192. CTG: > Does Cyan know anything about them?
  193. CAT: She hisses her response nigh-silently. "How am I supposed to know anything about people I've never seen? I was trapped in that robot for two years."
  194. CAC: >Engage in combat
  195. CAT: Majority vote required.
  196. CTG: > Attack them
  197. CAT made UC an OP.

  210. CAT: Witch-Doctor: ████████ HP x13. NOTES: A robed and plague-doctor-masked figure bearing an assortment of deadly chemicals and what appears to be a faux-leather-bound tome emblazoned with the symbol of the eight navy hashes sealed within a hand.
  211. CTG: eight navy hashes...?
  212. CAC: ...huh
  213. CUC: ...Ah, crap.
  214. CUC: There's four more Void Shards, aren't there.
  215. CAT: Who knows?
  216. CAT: I do.
  217. CTG: you
  218. CTG: KEK
  219. CAT: Remember, observation is a free action.
  220. CAC: >Is the platform floating/detached from the sides
  221. CAT: Which one?
  222. CAC: The one above the abyss
  223. CAT: It floats in midair.
  224. CAC: Does it attach to the ends
  225. CAC: Meaning, can you walk across
  226. CAT: No.
  227. CAT: You would have to jump.
  228. CAT: Twice, of course.
  229. CAT: Cyan looks at her ankle, cringing.
  230. CAC: Hmm.
  231. CAC: >See if any of the witch-doctors are isolated from the others
  232. CAT: They're all in a central group. Nobody is really isolated.
  233. CAT: Hey, you know what would work amazingly right here?
  234. CAT: AZURE INV: Lapotron Power Core, Medkit, Water Vial x3, /Gluon Destabilizer x1/, Welding Equipment, Cthk'aryvt's Blessing/Curse x4, Gem Fragment x3.
  235. CTG: it's a sign
  236. CAC: ...last grenade tho.
  237. CAC: I am very stingy
  238. CTG: I think we should use the water vial
  239. CUC ceased responding to memo.
  240. CAC: >Estimate if you can hit them
  241. CAT: Well, you are hydrokinetic. That is pretty much your standard battle strategy.
  242. CTG: that was meant to be a joke but okay
  243. CAT: It is pretty feasible. They have their backs turned.
  244. CTG: but you emphasized the gulon destabilizer
  245. CAC: >Throw a gluon destabilizer
  246. CAC: >At the witch doctors
  247. CAT: ERROR: Combat command not selected beforehand.
  248. CAC: >Utilize
  249. CAC: >Throw a gluon destabilizer
  250. CAC: >At the witch doctors
  251. CAT: There we go.
  252. CAT: You prime the thing, toss it over, grab Cyan's arm, and rush back over to the entrance.
  253. CTG: is assault a generic attack command and utilize a specific "use item" thing?
  254. CAT: Flames begin to spill into the hall the two of you stand within.
  255. CAT: Yeah.
  256. CGG: ah fuck pıng
  257. CAC: >Keep the fire at a distance
  258. CAC: >Using water
  259. CAT: You build up a shield of water, stepping back.
  260. CAT: The flames begin to die down, revealing the metal has been charred solid black.
  261. CAT: Ah, the wonders of gluon destabilization technology.
  262. CAC: The metal of what
  263. CAC: The walls?
  264. CAT: The walls, the ceiling, the floor. All of it.
  265. CAT: ENEMY TURN.
  266. CAT: Five Witch-Doctors lie, dead.
  267. CAT: Of course, this means that eight are quite aware of your presence.
  268. CTG: NICE
  269. CTG: NOT NICE
  270. CAU: WELP
  271. CAT: They open up their tomes, and utter foul incantations that are probably useless, the hands on their tomes glowing, navy energy spilling from the hashes.
  272. CAT: Eight bolts of pure energy bombard your shield.
  273. CAT: You manage to hold it up for about five shots, but the other three break through.
  274. CAT: Time for some checks.
  275. CTG: question: why does one of the achievements literally translate to "brief nosebleed"
  276. CAT: You'd have to find out by unlocking it.
  277. CTG: hm
  278. CAC: ">Break your nose"
  279. CAT: 2/3 checks passed.
  280. CTG: god dommot
  281. CAT: A bolt of pure energy strikes you in the chest. You are blown into the wall, but mostly okay.
  282. CAT: YOUR TURN.
  283. CAT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE
  284. CAC: >Assault
  285. CAT: How so?
  286. CAT: And who will be doing the assaulting?
  287. CAC: >Azure: Make a water hand, send it over the abyss, grab a witch doctor, and push him into the abyss
  288. CAC: Chill, kid, you said to do the command first just then
  289. CAT: What shall Cyan be doing?
  290. CAC: >Cyan: Make a plasma shield.
  291. CAT: Very well.
  292. CAT: You grab a Witch-Doctor, and drag them toward the edge.
  293. CAT: Unfortunately, they escape, but with severe internal organ damage, due to the pressure of the water hand's grip.
  294. CAT: They'll be coughing up blood in no time.
  295. CAT: ENEMY TURN.
  296. CAT: Four of the Witch-Doctors flip through the pages of their tomes, bubbles of violet ethereal energy surrounding them.
  297. CAT: The other four draw vials of poisonous green liquid from their belts.
  298. CAT: YOUR TURN.
  299. CAT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE
  300. CAC: Hmm
  301. CTG: attack the ones who didn't shield
  302. CAC: >Azure: Use water hand to grab as many of the vials of green liquid as possible, bring the vials to you
  303. CAT: Please vote on a course of action.
  304. CAC: >Cyan: Fire a plasma beam at any witch doctor still with a vial, or just one of them otherwise
  305. CAC: TG AU GG
  306. CAU: >Azure: Yoink the vials.
  307. CAT: Shall we be going with Twin's idea, or Fseftr's?
  308. CGG: >fseftr
  309. CTG: fseftr's
  310. CAT: Very well.
  311. CAC: >All of this only targetting unshielded ones
  312. CAT: You attempt to grip the vials out of the hands of the four Witch-Doctors wielding them.
  313. CAT: You miss two right off the bat.
  314. CAT: However, you manage to get the other two.
  315. CTG: good
  316. CAT: Of course, before they can be carried off to you, they shatter, and the two Witch-Doctors collapse to the ground, dying almost instantly, having inhaled the fluid and gas spilling forth.
  317. CAT: ENEMY TURN.
  318. CAC: Does Cyan not act or
  319. CAT: Oh, right. Sorry.
  320. CAC: She didn't make a plasma shield last time either..
  321. CAT: Defense isn't noted unless it is activated.
  322. CAC: Ah
  323. CAT: Yeah, she blows off the arm of one of the vial-holders, killing them with both blood loss and acid spilling over their faces.
  324. CAT: ENEMY TURN.
  325. CGG: gdı puns
  326. CAT: The remaining Witch-Doctor tosses the final vial over to your side, throw impeccable. You have a moment to react.
  327. CAC: >Catch it using a water hand
  328. CAC: >Try not to break it tho
  329. CAC: >Don't so much catch it as
  330. CAC: >Let it sink into?
  331. CTG: ^
  332. CAT: You manage to deftly capture the thing in a water hand. The unshielded Witch-Doctor looks dejected. You kind of feel sorry for them.
  333. CAC: hmm
  334. CTG: > Let him know that it's okay and he's a good person before killing him.
  335. CAC: Wonder if they could be talked to...
  336. CAC: I mean, too late now
  337. CAT: Drawing it back, you can clearly see the vials have symbols carved into them, rather akin to the sorts of things you saw on the Bioschemas, back in the Mu Sector.
  338. CAC: But maybe next time
  339. CAT: You can talk. Talking is a free action.
  340. CAT: Doesn't assure a response, but still.
  341. CAT: YOUR TURN.
  342. CAT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE
  343. CAC: >"Can you... talk?"
  344. CAC: >"Or at least understand me?"
  345. CAT: The grumbling and high-pitched 'fuck you' back shows that this guy can clearly understand English.
  346. CTG: kek
  347. CTG: > Kill him
  348. CAT: How?
  349. CAC: >Not yer
  350. CAC: yet
  351. CAT: Okay, you leave him alone.
  352. CAC: >"What's with the hand symbol?"
  353. CAC ceased responding to memo.
  354. CAT: The Witch-Doctor petulantly crosses their arms, and covering the hand up in the process.
  355. CAT: *without the and.
  356. CAT: This person is a child.
  357. CURRENT absoluteCoolness3 [CAC] RIGHT NOW responded to memo.
  358. CAC: ... Well then
  359. CAC: >Observe reaction of other four witch doctors to conversation
  360. CAT: They continue to stand, tomes at the ready, silently observing.
  361. CAT: They make no comments.
  362. CAC: >Do they still have shields up
  363. CAT: Yes.
  364. CAT: You didn't break them, or anything.
  365. CAT: Same for you and Cyan.
  366. CAT: Searing hot plasma shields are a new fad, clearly.
  367. CAC: >"Kid, I'll leave you alone if you tell your friends here to leave."
  368. CAT: The childlike Witch-Doctor responds quite promptly.
  369. CAT: By which I mean he sends a beam of pure energy straight through your chest. There is a poof of white dust, and you once more return to the gem.
  370. CAC: Whatt.... You said talking was a free action
  371. CAT: The other Witch-Doctors applaud in a civilized manner, murmuring 'Nice job's, and the like.
  372. CAT: Doesn't mean they can't react to things like this like you get react times.
  373. CTG: nice job
  374. CAC: But we didn't attack >_>
  375. CAT: The petulant Witch-Doctor shouts out a 'See you later, phony-ass pricks' and leaps down the evidently abyssal pit between the two platforms following the murder.
  376. CAT: Life isn't fair, and neither is comedic effect.
  377. CAC: Wat
  378. CAC: >Cyan: Fire at one of the shielded witch doctors?
  379. CTG: just try to see if the other four are more civilized
  380. CAT: ((On that note, temporary ~15 minute AFK. You can do whatever, just be prepared for the second half of the fight. It will be something to behold.))
  381. CTG: and if they aren't, immediately attack them
  382. CTG: oh okay
  383. CAU: /back
  384. CAT: ((/UNAFK.))
  385. CAT: Oh, they're civilized, alright. Doesn't mean they don't want to kill you, but still.
  386. CAC: >Cyan: "Why do you want to kill us?"
  387. CTG: fair enough
  388. CAT: Are you sure talking is the best option here?
  389. CTG: no
  390. CTG: > See what other weapons you have
  391. CAC: >Cyan: Fire at one of the shielded witch doctors
  392. CTG: just so I can tell which of these are and arent weapons
  393. CAT: CYAN INV: /δ-ψ-φ-Bioschema/, Deactivated Vitae Canister, Medkit.
  394. CAT: You've got the one thing.
  395. CAT: Anyhow, Cyan fires at a Witch-Doctor. Again, she's got a boss weapon, you have un-upgraded water.
  396. CAT: It breaks through, and cooks the being alive.
  397. CAT: Cyan also has a moment of grab Ms. Lapis's/your gem, which she does.
  398. CAT: ENEMY TURN.
  399. CAT: The remaining three Witch-Doctors pull out syringes simultaneously, and inject them into their own systems.
  400. CAT: YOUR TURN.
  401. CAT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE
  402. CAC: Oh
  403. CAT made AC an OP.
  404. CAC: >Azure: Be ded
  405. CAT: You do so.
  406. CAC: >Cyan: Fire at another of the witch doctors... I guess
  407. CAC: Kinda paranoid
  408. CAT: Are you sure? They did just do something sinister, possibly PED-related.
  409. CAC: PED?
  410. CAT: Performance-enhancing drug.
  411. CAC: Hmm
  412. CAC: I mean, what else is there to do
  413. CAT: Defend?
  414. CTG: yeah, defend
  415. CAC: Can we put a second shield up?
  416. CAT: Yes.
  417. CTG: they're probably doing some kind of ultra attack
  418. CAT: (To AC.)
  419. CAC: >Do that
  420. CAT: You pull up a second shield.
  421. CAT: ENEMY TURN.
  422. CAT: The four pull down their shields moments before you pull up your second, and fire three beams of pure psio-plasmic energies at you instantaneously, all of which are absorbed by your shields. Congrats.
  423. CAT: YOUR TURN.
  424. CAT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE
  425. CAC: Four?
  426. CTG: fhree
  427. CAT: Nah, you killed one of them, remember?
  428. CTG: > Attack, now that they've pulled down their shields.
  429. CAC: ... You said four
  430. CAC: >Use a plasma beam
  431. CAT: Oh, fuck it.
  432. CAC: >Azure: Revive?
  433. CAT: Mistakes happen, I'm a human, and I'm sorry.
  434. CAT: You cannot revive during combat!
  435. CAC: You are?
  436. CAC: Ah...
  437. CAT: Anyhow, how shall you attack?
  438. CAC: >Shoot a plasma beam at one of the witch doctors
  439. CAT: Cyan can probably shift the Bioschema to pulse mode, and hit all of them, if you want.
  440. CAC: Oh that's a thing?
  441. CAT: Yeah, it isn't just a beam weapon.
  442. CAC: >Cyan: Shift to pulse mode, hit all of them
  443. CAT: You've got pulses, anything the Centurions could do.
  444. CAT: You hit two, and kill them.
  445. CAT: You sadly miss the final one.
  446. CAT: ENEMY TURN.
  447. CAT: The thing fires a blast. Woo. What power. What potency. What instantly absorbed by second plasma shield-ity.
  448. CAT: You just finish them off. No need to bother with another turn.
  449. CAT: 13/13 slain.
  450. CAC: >Jump in celebration, freezecam
  451. CAC: >Wait for revival
  452. CAT: That isn't how this sort of thing works. This is real life, not some 1980s shitty montage land.
  453. CTG: no it definitely is shitty montage land
  454. CAT: This is fucking 2017.
  455. CTG: anyway /afk
  456. CAT: Anyhow, your gem glows, praise be, and you're back. Cyan rolls her eyes. "Nice work."
  457. CAT: Shit, forgot you can't see color.
  458. CAC: >Azure: Revive
  459. CAT: Anyhow, your gem glows, praise be, and you're back. Cyan rolls her eyes. "Nice work."
  460. CAC: ... Oh
  461. CAC: >Try to find green vial
  462. CAT: The one you grabbed?
  463. CAC: Ye
  464. CAT: It is safely on the ground before you. Of course, it still has those Bioschema-esque symbols carved into it. That isn't a thing that has changed.
  465. CAC: >Jump to other side of abyss
  466. CAC: >With help of water
  467. CAT: You carry yourself and Cyan over.
  468. CAC: >Send water hand, move green vial to far side of room
  469. CAT: You note that every single tome borne by the Witch-Doctors was immolated upon the cessation of its' owners life forces.
  470. CAC: >Crush open
  471. CAT: You do that.
  472. CAT: It puffs out a bit of deadly gas, and the fluid spills to the ground, beginning to dissolve the charred metal flooring.
  473. CAT: That's that.
  474. CAC: >Try to mix poison into water
  475. CAT: How many vials would you like to use?
  476. CAT: You have three.
  477. CAC: >One
  478. CAT: +1 Vial of Undulating Water.
  479. CAC: >Test what it does
  480. CAC: >On the wall
  481. CAT: It is just basically water with deadly poison in it. It doesn't do much to the wall, as the wall isn't really organic. At all.
  482. CAC: But it dissolved the floor?
  483. CAC: Did it dilute too much
  484. CAT: It appears so.
  485. CAC: >Wonder if you'd die if it touched you
  486. CAT: Then again, any less, and it might eat through the vial you try to contain it with. The Witch-Doctors had carved vials, of course.
  487. CAT: You'd probably be horribly harmed, yes.
  488. CAC: >Loot corpses
  489. CAT: Also, you haven't forgotten about the medkit in the corner back in the other half of the room, right?
  490. CAC: >Being careful of viaks
  491. CAC: Vials
  492. CAT: Like I said, you smashed all of the vials, and all of the tomes burned upon the death of their bearers.
  493. CAC: >Take medkit
  494. CAT: However, you do find about 35 cash strings on one of them.
  495. CAT: You get another medkit.
  496. CAC: >Loot their masks?
  497. CAC: >If they're actually gas masks
  498. CAT: They aren't. They're pretty inefficient.
  499. CAT: Probably ceremonial.
  500. CAC: >"Maybe I won't be as useless now. "
  501. CAC: >Forward
  502. CAT: Cyan frowns at that.
  503. CAT: Anyhow, you move onwards, to the doorway on the other side.
  504. CAC: >"That was a joke."
  505. CAT: The place ends almost immediately, in two sealed doors. One, with a hand containing two navy hashes, the other, three.
  506. CAT: "Okay..."
  507. CAC: >Place hand on two hash door
  508. CAT: You do so, and the door splits apart, and slides into the wall, revealing some sort of control room for the facility, of sorts.
  509. CAC: Huh
  510. CAC: >Examine controls
  511. CAT: It is pretty simple. A button for every do, a lever to deactivate and reactivate the trap systems, et cetera.
  512. CAT: *door.
  513. CAC: >Deactivate traps
  514. CAC: >Open doors
  515. CAT: You turn off the traps, and open up the internal doors, as well as the door blocking your way to the ship.
  516. CAC: >Wonder if three hash door opened
  517. CAT: Nope.
  518. CAT: Three hash door is closed.
  519. CAC: Hmm... Guess trying too loot the control room is too risky
  520. CAC: >Look around for secrets in the control room
  521. CAT: The two of you search the room.
  522. CAT: You find a storage cube, slightly over a foot in length. It is locked.
  523. CAC: Wow, actually found something
  524. CAC: >Examine lock
  525. CAT: It appears to be a wavelength-detector lock. Rather impossible to crack, without some sort of emitter matrix, which you can't afford.
  526. CAT: You'd have to find the key.
  527. CAC: >Could you just break it?
  528. CAT: Not likely.
  529. CAC: >How about the cube
  530. CAT: Supercondensed arcanium-corotite alloy, which they use to keep spaceships from suffering plasma damage.
  531. CAC: >"Have any keys by any chance?"
  532. CAT: Cyan turns out with nothing. "Nah, sorry."
  533. CAC: >Leave for now
  534. CAT: You head back to the ship, and re-weld the door, you suppose.
  535. CAC: >Fix the door
  536. CAT: It takes a number of hours, but you and Cyan manage to repair the circuitry and robotics of the hatch. Thank fuck.
  537. CAC: Woo
  538. CAC: >Fix backup engine if possible
  539. CAT: You've got a few spare parts, but nothing for an engine. Sadly.
  540. CAT: Would you like to plot a course to the next floating mechanostructure?
  541. CAC: Can we reland to access the ship's exterior?
  542. CAT: Where?
  543. CAC: Where we are noe
  544. CAC: now
  545. CAT: You'd die if you went outside. These things are internal affairs.
  546. CAT: Remember?
  547. CAC: Ah
  548. CAC: Can't install weapons and thrusters?
  549. CAT: Not here, no.
  550. CAC: >Set course
  551. CAT: You do so, Cyan chuckling something along the lines of "I can't believe you didn't try to fix it for that long" all the while.
  552. CAT: ETA: thirty minutes.
  553. CAT: Would you like to save your game?
  554. CAC: >Recall if you even have ability
  555. CAC: >Yes
  556. CAT: You might have been able to? It would have been a matter of luck.
  557. CAT: Saving game...
  558. CAT: Saving...
  559. CAT: Game saved successfully.
