Compromise is both

Alexithymiaa: -Adam sat on the front step in front of the house, a tennis ball clutched in his hand. Bringing his arm back, he threw it hard across the yard, sending Lady bounding across the driveway and through the grass to chase after it. He watched her with a smile since it was nice outside and he actually got to enjoy being outside for a little, waiting for the dog to bring the ball back to him.-
Covet: Tae came out of the house and saw Adam there throwing the ball for Lady. She tucked her phone into her pocket and walked down the stairs to where Adam was sitting and went to sit down next to him. "Hey, how's it going?"
Alexithymiaa: -He turned to look at Tae when Lady came barrelling back over toward him, reaching his hand out to take the ball from her, rolling it in his hands. "Hey. Pretty good. Just enjoying the nicer weather now that it's finally here. How about you? Feeling better?"-
Covet: Shrugging she gave him a soft smile, "I guess, in a sense. I've just been throwing myself into work, I actually get to have my first onstage performance in a couple of weeks. " Tae told him with a smile, seeming proud... even though Tae... you're gonna be topless.
Alexithymiaa: "Oh, that's great. It seems like you've worked really hard for that, so I know you deserve it." He said with a smile, trying not to thhink about what she does for work." He pulled his arm back to thhrow the ball again, watching Lady take off. "Have you considered trying out for the dance team or something like that?"-
Covet: "I don't know if exotic dancing and dancing for the school team are really the same thing. And I'm not the greatest exotic dancer as is." Tae said with a laugh. "But maybe if I keep working at it, I could do something like that. "
Alexithymiaa: "Well it's... it's sort of...." He trailed off, struggling to find his words. "It could be sort of similiar..." He started again, still failing and unable to make eye contact with her now that he made it super awkward.-
Covet: Tae gave a sheepish look, because Hayley told her that Adam was awkward with this sort of stuff. "Sorry, We don't have to talk about this. I know it's not really something you're fond of talking about."
Alexithymiaa: "It's fine. I want to be there for you." He said through his teeth as Lady came running back to drop the ball at his feet. He picked the ball up, holding it out to Tae for her to throw for the dog.-
Covet: Taking the ball from Adam she tossed it out to the yard for Lady. "Yeah, but you don't need to go about making yourself uncomfortable just to be supportive. That's not exactly fair to you."
Alexithymiaa: "It's okay. I'm fine." He said, brushing it off as he watched the dog. "I've been told I'm a little weird and awkward, so that's not exactly your fault."-
Covet: "I think we're all kind of weird and awkward in our own ways." Tae said as she leaned over on her knees. "That's what makes us human. There's nothing wrong with you not being a sexual person. That's just you." She said casually. "I can respect that, and sorry for not really before..."
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah..." he paused for a moment, watching Lady parade around with the ball in her mouth. "It just reminds me of my mom. My biological mom." He paused, looking down at his hands awkwardly.-
Covet: "Oh? I haven't really heard anything about your biological mom. But I'm sorry for reminding you of her." Tae said a little sheepishly. She always had something to be sorry for it seems.
Alexithymiaa: "She's...." He paused, trying to find a delicate way to put her. "From what I understand, she used to sell her body for drugs and alcohol. I guess it's just the negative view I have on it, but I dont like to think of anyone I know in that respect, so I just choose not to address it at all."-
Covet: "Well, I would never dance like this for those things. I have at least that much respect for myself. I dunno, I guess I've always seen the human body, naked, clothed, distorted by special effects, as art. So that's why dancing at the Doll House doesn't seem bad to me. But I guess it kind of is." Tae said casually.
Alexithymiaa: "It's not bad. I wouldn't necessarily use that wording. I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that I'm a fan of it, because it's hard for me to see that as respectful and I think you're worth more than that, but I also want you to do what makes you happy."-

Covet: "I just think of it as art and entertainment. Artists have been painting tasteful nudes for forever. Exotic dancing has existed in multiple cultures for eons. But it's nice to know that there are still guys that haven't converted to complete swinery, like yourself Adam." Tae told him with a soft smile.
Alexithymiaa: "Thanks, Tae. That's sweet of you to say." He reached his hand out to grab the ball from Lady again, giving it a bouncing toss to send her away again. "Sometimes I think it bothers Hayley."-
Covet: "You think so? I know she looks out for you. She gave me the heads up not to wear anything too revealing during spring break so that I didn't make you feel awkward. Where it might be a little prudish, it's still sweet." Tae said to him.
Alexithymiaa: "I know she does too, but I can't help, but feel like she's disappointed that we don't have that sort of relationship." He gave a casual shrug, leaning forward on his knees. "I'm caught between not wanting to disappoint her, but also not wanting to give in on something I feel so strongly about."-
Covet: "Yeah compromises can be hard in relationships." tae said softly, because Drew never budged on anything, there was never compromise. "But if she felt that disappointed about it, would she still stay with you?"
Alexithymiaa: "I'm not sure. I've definitely caught moments where she said or did something subtle that's put the idea into my head that she's disappointed. I just... I don't know if that's something I can ever be comfortable with."-
Covet: "Yeah, well I hope that's not the case. That maybe she just misses those things from her old relationships, but if it was something that she really didn't get along with, or didn't want to force you to do, then she probably would be asking to just remain friends? I'm not sure, though. Hopefully that's not the case. I could ask her if you wanted me to though." Tae offered.
Alexithymiaa: "If you want to talk to her about it, I wouldn't discourage you. I know we've talked about the fact that we both want kids, but I'm pretty set on adoption. I've expressed to her the fact that my brother and I were adopted makes me want to do the same, but she said she wants her own kids so..." He trailed off, giving a shrug. "I dont know where to go from there, but we're still young."-
Covet: "Yeah and it's harder for her now too after everything." Tae said softly. "Sometimes the compromise is to do both things. I'll find out and make sure everything is okay though. No need to make rash decisions or anything. That's how people end up married and divorced in Vegas on the same night."
Alexithymiaa: "Thankfully I dont know anyone who has done that." He said with a laugh, pushing up to his feet to call the dog in from galloping around the yard with her ball. "I think we're going to head in for the night, but I really enjoyed this talk with you. Get some sleep, Tae." he spoke with a smile, turning to head up the stairs to let Lady in so they could head upstairs.-
