  1. Twilight Sparkle had almost always been an extremely curious pony. Sometimes that curiosity had gotten the purple unicorn in trouble like when she had gotten caught reading forbidden books or scrolls, or learning magic that was not strictly legal. No matter how much trouble she had gotten in, nothing had really diminished her hunger to learn everything that she could about everything.
  2.
  3. She and the other two princesses were busy eating breakfast the following morning. Celestia was a white alicorn, far taller then Twilight and with an etheral rainbow coloured mane that flowed behind her and made her look like a goddess, which is exactly what she was.
  4.
  5. Luna was sat next to her sister, and in many ways was in contrast to her, a flowing, pitch black mane decorated with stars waved around behind her like it was caught in a night time breeze. Twilight respected both this ponies, and she knew that either of them would have been able to vaporise her without even really thinking about it.

  7. But, she was curious. Twilight had been sticking her nose into dusty old tomes once again, and she had come across some rather odd documents from the restricted section of the castle library. Now of course, she wanted to ask the two sisters about this, as they knew pretty much everything that there was to know about history as a whole. Of course, flat up asking them about it was going to end with her getting in trouble.

  9. It was quite the intreasting problem that she had found herself faced with. After lifting another spoonful of cereal to her mouth and sipping up the milk in a slightly nervous fashion, her mind begin to race, desperately trying to come up with a plan to ask the two of them about the tome that she had found without mentioning the fact that she had broke several dozen castle rules, and at least half a dozen laws in doing so.
  10.
  11. The book had been about the dark ages. Pony history had a large, empty space in the middle of it, and thus the dark ages had been a perfect namesake. All information on it had been censored and very few ponies even knew that it had existed. Twilight had learned about it, but the princesses had simply shrugged off any questions about it, and she had dared not push the issue.
