- ---
- clause: a group of words with a subject and verb
- time clause: a clause that tells us about the time when something happens
- After I got home, I made dinner. (past)
- After I get home, I always make dinner. (present)
- After I get home, I will make dinner. (future)
- * After I will get home... (WRONG) - don't use future grammar in time clauses
- While I am washing the dishes, she will cook dinner.
- Time clauses begin with words like: after, before, by the time, while, when, until/til, as, since
- When the time clause comes first, use a comma before the main clause.
- Do not use a comma when the time clause comes last.
