- Jr. Troopa Skip.
- Return to the playground.
* Hammer the coin block for 10 coins. [10 coins]
- Hammer the tree and get the Dolly.
- Take the spring for 4 coins and a Fire Flower. [14 coins][1 item]
- Get the Starpiece on the ledge. [1/16 SP]
- Give Goombario the Dolly. [2/16 SP]
- Equip Power Jump immediately.
- Hammer the tree for a Goomnut. [2 items]
* Hit the 2 coin blocks on the path. [16 coins]

Goomba Bros.
1. Power Jump Red [3 fp] / Headbonk Red / Damage [8 hp]
2. Power Jump Blue [1 fp] / Do Nothing / Damage [6 hp]
3. Fire Flower (Up 1) [1 item]

- Eat the Goomnut (Mash A). [0 items][4 fp]

Goomba King
1. Power Jump Goomba King [2 fp] / Headbonk Tree / Damage [4-5 hp]
2. Power Jump [0 fp] / Headbonk

- Get the Starpiece in the tree next to Merlon's House (unless you're doing manual Log Skip). [3/16 SP]
- Log Skip.
- Early Whale.
- Quizmo:
-- During Chapter 1, Quizmo cannot spawn at his location next to Merlon's House. He can only spawn next to Harry's Shop or at the Harbour.
-- After doing Early Whale, he cannot spawn at the Harbour, however he can spawn next to Merlon's House or next to Harry's Shop.
-- Sometimes he will just not spawn in Toad Town no matter what, and you will have to visit another village before he will be able to spawn again.
-- If you see him by Harry's Shop on the way by, get him.
-- If you find Quizmo now, prior to triggering Early Whale, you can skip a Starpiece. It's early enough in the route that it's still fastest to skip the Rip Cheato Starpiece.
--- So far you've wasted only 5s getting coins. Ignore all further instructions to get coins, and also don't bother getting the Stone Cap. (I'll mark those instructions with *'s.)
-- If you fail Early Whale and you didn't find Quizmo next to Harry's, check his location at the Harbour. (If you fail it several times and he still doesn't appear, it's maybe unlikely that will, so perhaps stop checking.)
-- It's perhaps not worth it to recheck his position next to Harry's after each fail as he will still be spawned there after Early Whale, and you could get him then...
--- Because even if you were to find him it would only save a few seconds by skipping the Rip Cheato Starpiece, rather than the Summit Starpiece. That said it would be a more significant timesave if you find Quizmo once again in Toad Town later in the run, since then you could skip Rip Cheato still, instead of having to skip a faster Starpiece.
-- If you succeed at Early Whale, and then see him there at his location by the dock, bail on the trick and get Quizmo instead, as long as you're confident in your ability to do the trick agian quickly. (If he's there at the Harbour and you enter the whale, he will despawn.)
* Get the 10-coin block at the Harbour. [26 coins]

- Enter the Toybox and go right.
* Take the box spring across the gap for 4 coins. (You can just jump across the gap if you don't need coins.) [31 coins]
- Get the Starpiece behind the yellow toy block and return to the station. [4/16 SP]
* Get the Stone Cap in the invisible block. [1 item]
- Take the train to Pink Station.
- Get the Mailbag in the chest.
- Exit the Toybox.
- Get Quizmo if he appears at his location next to Harry's Shop.
-- At this point, you've wasted too much time on coins to skip the Rip Cheato Starpiece.
-- It's faster to skip getting the Shooting Star Summit Starpiece instead.
* Visit the shop and sell your Stone Cap (Mash A) for 15 coins. [0 items][46 coins]
- If you haven't yet found Quizmo in Toad Town, duck into the Badge Shop to spy his location next to Merlon's.
-- Get him if you see him there. You'll be skipping the Shooting Star Summit Starpiece if you do.

- Head out to Pleasant Path.
* Get the Pleasant Path coin block. [47 coins]
- Get the Sleepy Sheep behind the fence. [1 item]
* Get 10 coins from the coin block. [57 coins]
- Take the path toward Koopa Bros. Fortress. (Save this for the next trip to Koopa Village if you're skipping the Rip Cheato Starpiece.)
* Get the 5 coins on the path. [62 coins]
- Get the Starpiece in the tree. [5/16 SP]
- Go to Koopa Village.
- Do not leave Koopa Village without a Starpiece from Quizmo. [6/16 SP]
- Check for Quizmo at his location on the left Koopa Village screen.
- Get a Koopa Leaf from the bush on the right Koopa Village screen. [2 items]
- Push the blue block right once and down once. Hit the brick block to get a Starpiece. (Perhaps you should save until the next Koopa Village trip if you've found Quizmo already.) [7/16 SP]
- If you haven't found Quizmo in Koopa Village yet, check for him at his location on the right screen.
- Talk to Koopa Koot to start the 1st favour.
- Talk to Kolorado's Wife to get Koopa Legends.
- If you haven't found Quizmo, go to the left screen and immediately return to the right screen. Then check his location the right screen.
- Give Koopa Koot the Koopa Legends. [63 coins]
- Talk to Koopa Koot to start the 2nd favour. Give him the Sleepy Sheep (Mash A) and get Silver Credit. [1 item][64 coins]
- Talk to Koopa Koot to start the 3rd favour.
- If you haven't found Quizmo, go back and forth between his locations on the left screen and the right screen until you find him.
-- Because his location on the right screen is farther away I would say maybe check the left screen location twice for every one time you check the right screen.

- Return to Toad Town.
- Visit Taste T. and cook a Koopa Leaf to get a Koopa Tea. [1 item]
* Blue House Skip.
* Buy the 1st item from Rip Cheato. [8/16 SP][0 coins]
* Get the Odd Key and unlock the door.
- If you see Quizmo at his location next to Merlon's, get him.
-- If this is your first time finding Quizmo in Toad Town, or if your first time finding him was early enough that you're already skipping the Rip Cheato Starpiece, now you will be able to skip the Shooting Star Summit Starpiece.
-- If you were already going to be skipping the Summit Starpiece, now you will not longer have to worry about spawning him that last time in Koopa Village.
-- If you had previously skipped the Starpiece in the tree next to Merlon's, get it now.

- Head out to Goomba Road.
- Get the Starpiece in the tree next to the Goomba King fortress. [9/16 SP]
- Talk to Goompa and get the Tape.
- Go not leave Goomba Village without a Starpiece from Quizmo. [10/16 SP]
-- Check his location in Goomba Village.
-- If he's not there, go in and out of the loading zone to the landing site until he spawns.

- Return to Toad Town.
- If you skipped the Starpiece in the tree next to Merlon's until now, now's the time to get that Starpiece.
- If you see Quizmo at his location next to Merlon's:
-- If you got him twice in Toad Town already, but you've not skipped the Rip Cheato Starpiece, ignore him.
-- Otherwise, get him and skip the Shooting Star Summit Starpiece.
-- And if you were already going to be skipping that Starpiece, you won't have to worry about spawning him that last time in Koopa Village.
-- Unless you were also skipping the Rip Cheato Starpiece, in which case it's probably better to skip the Fortress tree Starpiece than to skip the final Quizmo Starpiece (except if you get bad spawn RNG in Koopa Village).
- Go to Shooting Star Summit and get the Starpiece around the side of the summit. (This can sometimes be skipped depending on your Quizmo RNG.) [11/16 SP]
- Deliver the Mail Bag. [12/16 SP]

- Return to Koopa Village.
- Get one final Starpiece from Quizmo at Koopa Village. (Potentially skipped if you found Quizmo twice at his Toad Town locations but neither time was before doing Early Whale.) [13/16 SP]
- Check the Quizmo location on the left screen.
- If you haven't found Quizmo, check his location on the right screen.
- Give Koopa Koot the Tape. [1 coin]
- Talk to Koopa Koot to start the 4th favour. Give him the Koopa Tea. [0 items][16/16 SP]
- If you haven't found Quizmo, go back and forth between his locations on the left screen and the right screen until you find him.
-- Because his location on the right screen is farther away I would say maybe check the left screen location twice for every one time you check the right screen.
- Probably pause and make sure you've got 16.

Notes:
- The slowest Starpieces are the Rip Cheato Starpiece, the Blue Station Starpiece, and the Mailbag Starpiece.
- If you REALLY want to go for the gold you could rely on the crazy RNG of finding Quizmo in Toad Town on all 3 visits.
- You could skip all coins, entering the Toybox at all, getting the Rip Cheato Starpiece, and delivering the Mailbag.
- The reason it's the Summit and the Fortress tree or the final Quizmo in Koopa Village that are on the chopping block is because the other Starpieces come too early in the route to easily skip.
- Perhaps as a compromise you could try skipping Rip Cheato and his coins by default and relying on finding Quizmo in Toad Town at least once.
- If you try skipping Starpieces and it doesn't work out the best thing you can do to still finish is:
-- Return to Toad Town after the last trip to Koopa Village.
-- Immediately return to Koopa Vilage. (Checking Toad Town locations is risky because there's a very good chance he'll just never spawn.)
-- Get another Quizmo Starpiece.
-- Repeat as necessary?
