- In the Grand Coalition, there is no room for misfits, outcasts, criminals, and weirdos. This borderlime utopian society has been reformed and refined over countless decades, and despite it's best attempts, there is no cure, no gene modification, no brain surgery that can cure "being weird." It's a topic debated by philosophers and scientists often, but there seems to be no logical or illogical explanation for those who are different. People like these, after several convictions and misdemeanors, would be given a chance to make up for their crimes. The Ethereal Cannon is able to fire things beyond the speed of light, something once impossible, and it is used to send Misfits to the outer reaches of the galaxy to colonize new planets, so the Grand Coalition may expand. Whether they succeed or fail is not important, though great prestige is awarded to those who can survive.
- The trip is most definetly one-way, and travellers must conquer the harsh new environment before them. This specific trip to Aurelis Prime has not been done before, and the volunteers on board ship AE-1103 await the near unknown.

- There was a slow, drawn out hiss as an adredaline-laced gas is brought back into the pod, a group of people all starting to awaken from their slumber. As their eyes slowly adjusted to the dim red lights, they could begin to make put more features in the pod. First and foremost, they were all in a rough circle, all facing eachother. Through their mouth (or other eating apparatus) rested a thin clear tube, that was most definetly used for supplying their bodies with nutrients, and the necessary cryostasis accelerators they had been on the entire journey. Whatever clothes they had worn before, now replaced by blue and orange jumpsuits, with what feels like some sort of underclothing beneath it, and whatever personal belongings they were allowed to take had been stuffed into orange containers, locked securely to their seats.
- Their entire bodies would ache, muscle stimulants bringing dormant cells back to life, it was if the month long journey hadn't even happened. It's silent, save for ragged breathing, and a cough here or there, nobody would have enough energy to speak just yet.
- There's a cheery tune over some sort of loudspeaker, and a friendly female voice speaks "Hello, volunteers! Welcome to your orientation. You are currently on a trip to Aurelis-Prime, a planet on the far borders of the Grand Coalition. This planet has been given a moderate danger rating, so please exercise caution when you land, and try to meet with all other members of your trip peacefully!" She sounded too chipper and happy about this all as she continued "Your job, as you all know, is to set up an orbital supply depot, a base of operations for the Grand Coalition, and finally, send a worm-loop space communication back to us! Once those are completed, we'll tell you the rest!" It was silent, and the speakers crackled as she changed her pitch to one sounding far more serious "Supplies are all marked in bright orange, everything you will need, and more, has been provided on this trip, though bi-monthly supply drops will be provided as long as at least ten of your bio signatures are read. Do the Grand Coalition proud, and pray that you may once rejoin it, in all it's glory." With that, the speaker went silent, leaving the still-recovering 'volunteers' to process the new information.
