❃ーpersonality ;; ji-ae is a very bright person almost all the time as she likes to cheer up the people around her. she is a very friendly and open person when you first meet her and won't give two shits if you're shy and reserved. she likes to include lots of people whenever she plans group activities so that they don't feel left out and is very flexible around her personal schedules - she seems to have nothing to do when in fact, she just gets them over and done with as soon as possible. she is also a huge scaredy cat, freaking out over the smallest of worries and preparing in advance for the most unimaginable of scenarios. this is pretty much why ji-ae does shit around the house because she has a very specific way things are done and won't take no for an answer when other people try to do it. ji-ae is a bright morning person and could pass as your mother cooking breakfast at 7am, she also actually doesn't find chores boring and finds it as a way to take her mind off things until she gets hungry. yes, she eats a lot and binges on so many snacks you'll start wondering where that mountain of chips she just finished came from and how the store was doing with increased sales. she can be stubborn and seem bratty at times, especially when you tell her to stop analysing codes and do something else that's useful and she will try anything at the expense of her dignity to not stop and that includes fake-crying, whining and bargaining. despite this, ji-ae has a very high breaking point. she can try and ignore the things that annoy her but when it gets too much (which takes pretty long) her personality turns upside down to the point of no return and she will give you that stare that is too fierce to ignore, almost like she is challenging you. she will also become silent and blank-faced which is pretty scary for the people used to her usual bubbly personality. this side, she will try not to show to people and she will try and calm herself down. she feels bad after this and will hide in the kitchen baking sweets to apologise. she also won't take no for an answer and will shove brownies down your throat if you try to refuse.
❃ーbackground ;; ji-ae grew up in a technology-oriented background where her parents both worked for the big companies. it's surprising how an employee of apple and an employee of samsung got together. with her parents in the technology business programming advanced sections of code for software updates, she learned to cook and do the chores to put up with her boredom when she has no schoolwork to focus on. from a young age, she'd always ask her parents if she could try coding and they'd refuse her because of her age so she started borrowing books from the library and reading articles online to teach herself how to code and learning how to hack alongside. she'd keep going to her parents to ask to work with them until they finally reluctantly agreed. her hacking skills were found out and eventually were primarily used to try and hack software to protect them from other people looking to exploit weaknesses. her older sister ji-eun hated that they were spending too much of their time indoors, especially ji-ae. she barely survived on the few bits of biology she was taught at school until her sister convinced the whole family to start going on camping trips to appreciate the environment. ji-ae started spending her summer holidays on camping trips with her family, with ji-eun checking out large books to identify different plants and wildlife they came across. ji-eun eventually grew up to be an ecologist as a result of her long camping trips. ji-ae couldn't deny that she enjoyed the camping trips and grew her vast knowledge of survival information. the regular family camping trips gradually diminished once ji-eun moved out of the country for university and ji-ae found herself bored and lonely again. she eventually picked up hacking again and took up lessons in her first year of university on more professional level whitehat hacking. with her background knowledge from her childhood, she learnt exceptionally fast and discovered the dark side of hacking and tried it for fun, realising that she could use this knowledge from the dark side to help other people defend their software and accounts from malicious cyber-threats. she stills occasionally goes on camping trips by herself to clear her mind when things get too overwhelming.

❃ーyour first impression on him ;; ji-ae was probably like finding it hard to to breathe yanno it's not everyday you get trapped on a dystopian planet with an extremely handsome guy. she probably freaked out a lot before noticing his existence (wyd ji-ae) because she. wants. to. hack the system. probably thought she got trapped in some vr game and practically forces mingyu to help her find a weakness in the 'code' and hack it to bring everyone home.
❃ーhis first impression on you ;; he's probably very chill. like 'okay what do i do im stuck here in this weird place with this girl who probably breathing difficulties- nOPE SHE WANTS TO BRING THIS PLACE DOWN'. yeah probably saw ji-ae as a fierce sort of person but to be fair she hasn't had her morning coffee yet.

+beginning; ji-ae was probably awkward around him, she didn't exactly have many guy friends (thinks they can do with some of her famous homemade fudgy brownies with extra chocolate chunks) but she'd still promise him to bake lots of sweets when they get the hell off the front lawn of this planet. ji-ae would actually try to get to know him better, sure he might find her annoying but she's the only entertainment he has, he's gotta put up with it somehow. she'd be super sweet and try to seem calm but will still tell these lame ass jokes out of nowhere to try and lighten up the mood and honestly, she's low key intimidated by his chill because w h y w o n t h e l a u g h a t m y j o k e s
+middle; ji-ae would still be the super friendly person she is, maybe still low key intimidated, but she'd be kinda occupied with her 'strange obsession with hacking' to notice him warming up to her. she'd often tell him that if they ever made it out together alive, she'd literally adopt him (even if he is older) and feed him tons of homemade food like a mom. ji-ae is comfortable enough to actually fall asleep on him if she ever got that tired but she's a nice person so she'd try not to do that so he wouldn't feel awkward with a girl sleeping on top of him. she'd also refer to him as her child because then, she didn't seem to feel a spark and saw him as a child that needs comfort.
+end; ji-ae would eventually come to realise that she fell pretty hard for him. she'd pull back a bit, scared by these feelings like 'nows a terrible time to be feeling like this' and would hide herself to avoid him because she needs some to herself. still hacking. she'd feel pretty lucky if her feelings were reciprocated because it's really not the best time to fall in love on a dystopian planet with no guarantee you'll survive long enough to escape so she'll keep it to herself to not make things awkward again between her and mingyu.

+beginning; mingyu is very awkward but would try and maintain his chill. he actually finds her lame jokes funny but at the time, it didn't seem like the right occasion to laugh when death is lurking around every corner. he liked that she'd try to get to know him better and he sorta envied her confidence because this girl deserves a trophy for trying to make friends when she could die any moment.
+middle; mingyu would honestly feel uncomfortable with ji-ae making all these promises that he's sure she wouldn't be able to do because he was sure that death would come for them one day on this planet. he felt a need to protect her since she never pays much attention to her surroundings when she's occupied with her hacking and he'd low key watch her quietly when she does.
+end; mingyu does eventually embrace her promises, looking forward to them and giving him another reason to survive hard and escape with every one of his allies. he'd probably act cute around her (she's soft for his aegyo) and then get teased for it like 'just confess already'. he actually wants to but doesn't want to do it in a crap place and what he'd rate as the least romantic place in his experience.
