- Whether you want to contest the validity of race or not is irrelevant. There is nothing special about the term race which makes it objectively important to empirical reality. What I mean is, even if you deny race, black people and why people are still a different something and race realists can still argue said differences extend above the neck.
- People think that disputing terms is epistemologically significant, it is not. It is usually just a way to avoid the question. Moreover, this is or should be a public debate and the public knows these terms. And no amountof obfuscatory think-pieces has changed the public using race, probably because they are such clear attempts at obfuscation
- It is about as significant as the common objection "iq doesn't measure true intelligencs." Still measures something important and differences will matter, especially if we really want to have the ever-requested "conversation about race" as a lot of policy and social mores is based on the position of egalitarianism
