  3. Magic within the Isles is well-known and widely-used -- magic-users are not rare nor are they shunned anywhere, and essentially every society and organization has mages in their midst. However, it is also not an incredibly-high-magic setting; there are very few powerful archmages and magic still requires a great deal of study or another font of power (so, basically the same as Forgotten Realms).

  5. Technology within the Isles is somewhere in between the standard Forgotten Realms and the higher-tech settings of Eberron/Ravnica. Battles are fought with sword and bow, and handheld firearms are few and far between (but still exist), but ships do have cannons and artificery is somewhat common depending on the region.

  9. **Nobility and Politics**

  11. Each nation operates under its own political system. The majority of them have noble houses as well -- in some cases they are concentrated in the capital, whereas in others they are spread out throughout the land. More information about the Isles' nobles will be distributed to specific players and as the game goes on. However, as it relates to character creation, there are nobles and higher-class society in most every nation of the Isles save for O'rir (for obvious reasons).
