Reasoning: Kaila rightfully defeated Aretain within battle and had taken him prisoner. Although, her superiors do not want any prisoners as they may back stab you in the long run. So the only choice was to kill him or making him into a Pwcration.

TLDR: Kaila will take her keyblade and stick it into Aretain's heart to absorb his keychains for herself. She will then make him heartless after that has been done.

Moment: After capturing Aretain, another keyblade wielder, Kaila takes him to their base. After holding him hostage and taking his belongings, she realizes what happened when Pwcca did this to Zachary. Now that she was going to do this on her own despite what Pwcca said about the cause of these actions. She would take her keyblade and press it into his heart to absorb his keychains for herself and let his heart be emptied out. Heartless.
