                - >Day Parental Intervention in Equestria
 - >”All right Mrs. Heartstrings, the children are having recess right now, Hope should be with them.”
 - “Thank you ma'am.”
 - >You excuse yourself before heading into the campus, Hope's homework safely tucked away into your saddlebag.
 - >While cleaning the house, you noticed that your sweet daughter had forgotten her homework in her room.
 - >Worried she might get in trouble, you decided to visit her in school and drop it off.
 - >As you make your way through the building's long corridors, you see the children of varying species playing just outside the windows.
 - >You find the door to the playground and exit the main building, greeted by the sound of dozens of children's voices all speaking at once.
 - >It's a heart warming sight knowing that Hope is just another face in this sea of smiles.
 - >... That came out much more heartless than you had thought it would.
 - >”E-Excuse me, lady?”
 - >Turning, you see a short yellow filly with glasses looking up at you.
 - “Can I help you?”
 - >She nods, pointing to the side of the building.
 - >”Uh huh! Leo and his jerk friends are bullying Hope again!”
 - >What?!
 - “Thank you very much young lady, now if you'll excuse me.”
 - >You rush towards the direction the filly was pointing towards.
 - >As you turn the corner, you see a group of children watching a griffin and two pegasi surround Hope.
 - >Your daughter is covered in mud, crying as the three boys chant 'pig' at her.
 - >A scowl easily finds it's way to your face as you push your way towards your baby girl.
 - “Hey!”
 - >The boys turn to you, each bearing a fear filled expression.
 - >One of the pegasi is the first to speak.
 - >”W-We didn't do anything!”
 - >The other nods, pointing to the griffin.
 - >”It was all Leo! He was the one who pushed Hope!”
 - >The griffin scowls at his two -friends- before turning to you.
 - >”Nuh uh! I didn't touch her!”
 - >You walk towards him, glaring as he starts to look away, stepping back a bit.
 - “Hope, honey, what happened?”
 - >Your daughter sniffles, pulling herself up.
 - >Before she can speak, the sound of receding steps of various nature rings through your ears.
 - >They are replaced by a single pair of hoofsteps.
 - >”What is going on over here?”
 - >You turn around, the group of children and Hope's bullies gone.
 - >Replaced by a very tall minotaur wearing a vest.
 - “My daughter was being bullied! Does Caval Rhy allow things like this to go unpunished?!”
 - >He frowns a bit, walking over to Hope.
 - >”Is this true Hope? Who was bullying you?”
 - >He places a hand on her shoulder as she wipes away her tears.
 - >”I-It was Leo, a-and two pegasus...es.”
 - >The minotaur stands, leading Hope towards the building as the bell goes off.
 - >You follow, not going to let your daughter's school life be full of such horrible treatment.
 - >Headmaster Pule is talking with Hope privately as you and the minotaur wait outside his office.
 - >”I am sorry your daughter got caught up in this garbage again.”
 - “Again? You mean that boy has done things like this to her before?!”
 - >Why hasn't Hope told you any of this before?
 - >Is she that scared of this kid?
 - >”Only once. Hope came straight to Pule afterwards, he took care of it. Least, I thought he did.”
 - >Ah, so this isn't a daily thing.
 - >Why would that little punk pick today to start again though?
 - >The door to headmaster Pule's office opens.
 - >”Mrs. Heartstrings, could you please come in?”
 - >Before heading into the room, you look to the minotaur.
 - ”Thank you for telling me.”
 - >”Hope's a good kid, a pleasure to have in class.”
 - >You nod and step into Pule's office.
 - >Hope is sitting, her uniform slightly cleaned but still covered with dried mud.
 - >”Hi mom...”
 - “Hey dear. You forgot your homework.”
 - >You hand your daughter her work, causing a small smile to form on her lips.
 - >”I know...”
 - >Headmaster Pule coughs, drawing your attention.
 - >”Mrs. Heartstrings, are you aware Hope has been doing another boys homework?”
 - >Shocked, you look to your daughter.
 - >She looks down, almost on the verge of tears.
 - “I was not aware of this sir, no.”
 - >He sighs, nodding as he does.
 - >”Well, apparently she has been refusing to do it lately. Hope told me that her friend Manfred has been keeping Leo from getting to her. However, Manfred was out today, a doctor's appointment you see. Seems our young griffon thought he had an opportunity where he could use force to get Hope to do it again.”
 - “Hope... why didn't you tell us?”
 - >She manages to whimper out a little sentence.
 - >”I dunno.”
 - >Pule looks towards the clock, rubbing is chin.
 - >”If you would like, we could excuse Hope for the rest of the day. Just turn in her homework to her teachers and ask for today's. I am sorry you had to go through this Hope.”
 - >Your daughter just nods, standing up and walking out of the room.
 - “Thank you headmaster Pule.”
 - >”Think nothing of it Lyra. It is my job to make sure ALL our students are treated well. I'll make sure Hope isn't harassed any more.”
 - >Nodding, you leave the mule's office.
 - >Hope is sitting down again, talking with the minotaur.
 - >”So you'll make him run double laps?”
 - >”Heh, don't worry. I'll make sure he knows we're watching.”
 - >He ruffles her hair, causing another smile to form on the little satyr's face.
 - “Hope?”
 - >The smile is replaced with a look of fear.
 - >”Y-Yeah mom?”
 - “Lets go turn in your homework. We need to talk.”
 - >”O-Okay.”
 - >She jumps off the seat, leading you towards her next scheduled class.
 - >Taking a sip of coffee, your attention is fixed on your daughter as she tells you what's been going on.
 - >”After I told Leo I was stopping, he said he was going to beat me up.”
 - >Lyra is sitting across form you, eyes filled with worry.
 - “He hasn't though. You never come home with any bruises.”
 - >”Uh huh. That's because Manny always scares him off.”
 - >Manny, Hope's chubby minotaur friend.
 - >He always seemed a bit docile.
 - >It is surprising to hear that he could scare anybody, especially a griffon.
 - “I see, so he stopped because Manny was around. You know that wasn't going to be a permanent solution, Manny can't always be around.”
 - >She whimpers, pulling her head low.
 - >”I-I know dad.”
 - >”You did the right thing Hope. You shouldn't do other people's work for them, especially when they threaten you.”
 - >Hope is silent, either embarrassed she got caught or ashamed she let it happen in the first place.
 - “Hope, we aren't mad at you. How can we be mad at you for being bullied?”
 - >”B-Because I helped someone cheat?”
 - >Lyra places her hoof on Hope's hand.
 - >”No, you didn't help him cheat. You were forced too. Helping means you wanted to do it.”
 - >”O-Oh. So you really aren't mad?”
 - >You smile, kissing her on her cheek.
 - “No, not at you. The griffon kid however... I think I should talk with his parents, set the record straight.”
 - >Hope nods, smiling a bit.
 - >”Are you going to beat his dad up?”
 - >You snort, almost choking on your coffee.
 - “N-No. Just make sure this doesn't happen again. Silly girl.”
 - >Placing your hand on her head, you pet her a couple times.
 - >A ding goes off, letting you know that the dryer has finished it's cycle.
 - >Lyra steps away from the table, going to grab Hope's uniform.
 - >”Dad?”
 - “Yes, dear?”
 - >”I love you dad.”
 - >With a smile, you kiss her cheek one more time.
 - “And I love you Hope.”
 - >The little satyr jumps off her chair, moving to sit in your lap as she pulls out her puzzle book from her backpack.
 - >”Can we play a little before I have to do homework?”
 - “Well, a couple puzzles couldn't hurt.”
 - >She happily opens up the book to the page you two stopped at before bed last night.
 - >”Hmm, what is at the end of time and the universe, but is at the start of eternity... Uhhh, air?”
 - “I don't think it's air. The end of time might not have air.”
 - >”Oh. Then what could it be?”
 - “... Wow, this one is being rude. It's the letter e.”
 - >”What? No way... oh, it is the letter e. It made it sound like it was a thing. Tricky book.”
 - >Chuckling, you watch as Hope fills in the answer at the bottom of the page.
 - >Still, you need to stay focused.
 - >How are you going to deal with Hope's bullying problem?
