- If your reading this, your probably having trouble connecting your Nintendo DS, DSi, or 3DS to Pokécheck. The Pokécheck homepage, http://www.pokecheck.org/ , will show you in great detail how to set up the DNS setting to connect to Pokécheck. Some users have trouble actually connecting their DS to their wireless network properly, and this should at least help troubleshoot what's happening. If those steps confuse you at all, don't be afraid to post in the shoutbox, just use a specific question such as "What is a deposit request in Step 2?" (answer being, attempt to offer your Pokémon on the GTS) and you should get a helping post or two.
- If your using a DSi, the home page also has DSi instructions. For 3DS, check this video tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7D-uW8h3YA .
- The most important part is, you only want one Connection Setting. Having multiple settings can cause conflicts and generally doesn't work. Simply connect to your wireless network in Connection Setting 1, and leave the second and third ones blank. You don't edit the secondary DNS, just leave it at the default, you only edit the Primary DNS to 088.191.118.153 .
- **Network Security/Encrpytion Type**
- If you aren't using a password to connect to your internet, you may want to seriously consider fixing that unless you like everyone in range leeching your connection.
- There are two supportable encryption/security types for DSi and 3DS, WEP and WPA. DS Phat and DS Lite can only use WEP, and Generation 4 Games also must use WEP security. Simply put, if you aren't using a Gen 5 game in a 3DS or DSi, you have to use WEP to connect to Wi-Fi.
- **Other common issues**
- -If you get Error Code 13267 upon uploading, check the FAQ link located at the top of the Shoutbox.
- -If your Pokémon is accepted to the actual GTS (you will see the animation), it means you are not connected to Pokécheck. Make sure you only have one connection setting, and use the script in Step 2 if your running Windows, it will tell you if your ISP forces a set DNS. If it says you cannot use Pokécheck, you are basically screwed and would need to use a different connection, or ask your Internet Service Provider to allow DNS redirection.
- -If you edit the DNS setting and you get an error message when you try to save, just delete the whole connection, reconnect, and edit the DNS again.
