Waterproof electronics

Covet: Connor was hanging out in a pool floatie on the shallower end of the pool, playing with some toys or another of his. // Kelsey was swimming laps, something she'd decided to start doing to help ease some of the stress that was causing her anxiety to act up. She still wasn't all that impressed with Brad right now, and had pretty much been taking care of Connor herself. Especially after explaining to him that what he did last night, really wasn't all that bad, that Dad just had a bad day, and that he didn't mean to be that angry with him.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad was sitting on the edge of the pool with his feet dunked into the water staring down at the new phone Evan had rushed out to get him today since this asshole broke the other one last night. He was waiting for some colored frames to be emailed over to approve before the colorist continued on with the entire rest of the project cause that's costly to have him do it twice.-
Covet: Kelsey stopped after her current set of laps, and pushed the water out of her face, she looked over at Brad who was on his phone and shook her head, "You know if you've got work stuff going on, you don't have to be here."
Alexithymiaa: "I don't have work stuff going on right now. I'm just waiting for an email from the colorist and I'll give quick feedback and then I'm done for the night." He set the phone down next to him on the tile, lifting his head to look over at her.-
Covet: "If you're waiting for an email that you intend to give feedback to, that sounds like you do have work stuff going on right now." Kelsey said to him treading water.
Alexithymiaa: "Well not right NOW." He tried to correct, hearing his phone vibrate and instantly looking down at it just to see it being bullshit spam email.-
Covet: "Until you get that email, you're pretty much on shift though right?" She said to him, rolling her eyes at his picky logistics.
Alexithymiaa: "Not really, I'm here. Half swimming. Tired swimming." He decided because he was feeling too lazy to do any real swimming that took energy.-
Covet: "Are you sure that's a smart idea with a brand new phone? What happens if it slipped into the water?" She asked him swimming a little closer to him.
Alexithymiaa: "Well I'm not moving it right near the edge. I'm keeping it back a little." He said as he looked down at the phone on the tile which was honestly probably a little wet.-
Covet: "Did you at least get one that's water resistent?" Kelsey asked him as she swam over to the edge so she didn't have to keep treading water.
Alexithymiaa: "I don't know? Evan got it for me. It's the new iPhone. Is that water resistant?" He asked, picking it up to examine a bit.-
Covet: "I think so." Kelsey said. "I know a bunch of the newer ones are capable that way."
Alexithymiaa: "I don't think that means I'm going to intentionally get it wet, but it's a little peace of mind." He shrugged, setting it back down. "Something about electronics and water just seems like it'll never mix."-
Covet: "It can't be all that bad, I mean, we have submarines that are electronic and function in the water. And what about that camera robot thing that they used to look at the Titanic under water." Kelsey said to him.
AlexithymiaaAlexithymiaa : "Yeah but... it just feels wrong to splash my phone with water. I would panic and then remember it's okay. I'm just hard wired to think I should keep water away from my electronics."-
CovetCovet : "That's because we grew up with parents, who for some reason, needed to tell us not to put a toaster in the bathroom in case of electricution. Because the bathroom is the logical spot for the toaster, what are you doing with it warming socks?" Kelsey said.
Alexithymiaa: "To be fair, I dont think I was ever actually told not to put a toaster in the bathroom. Although I do remember staying in a hotel once that had an electrical outlet behind the shower curtain and I was terrified to shower in my own hotel room."-

Covet: "I don't blame you, who puts a plug in there?" She asked shaking her head. " I remember when I was a young teenager, in California, we were doing a church charity thing, helping rebuild this house for a family, that had caught fire. In the unfinished basement, there was a washer and dryer, well the plug in was right beneath the main sewer line out, and it had cracked and split from being old, and water got on the socket and that's what shorted out the breaker box and caused the fire."
Covet: [True story.. without the fire bit though. XD That was at our place in Twin waaaay forever ago.]
Alexithymiaa: (Who designed these things we have seen?!)
Alexithymiaa: "See now I want to meet the designers behind these great works of art." He said with a grin, his phone vibrating next to him. He picked it up to see the incoming email, sliding his fingers across the screen to type.-
Covet: [lmao people who need to go back to school lol]
Covet: "That's if they are even alive." Kelsey said. "They might have died to their own engineering." She swam down to where Connor was. She asked him if he was about ready to get out. Kelsey wasn't intending to leave just yet, but Holly said she'd get him home tonight and wasn't far off, still on campus.
Alexithymiaa: "Is that what natural selection is about?" He asked with a smirk, continuing to reply to the colorist because he wanted his complete idea out in this email.-
Covet: "Darwinism at it's finest." She said with a laugh. "Can you send Holly a message to come get Connor, I dont' want to get out and get my phone."
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, let me just finish this." He said as he concluded his email, sending it off before sending a text to Holly. "She knew we were going to be here, right?"-
Covet: "Yeah I told her, I might have her come get Connor." Kelsey said as she went over to him. "Okay Buddy time to get out. Holly is going to come get you, so she can tuck you in." She told her son. // Connor tipped his head back, "But Momma, I don't want to get out."
Alexithymiaa: "But look at your hands, you're probably all pruny. If you stay in too much longer your fingers are going to swell up from all the water they absorbed!" He yelled waving a hand over his head.-
Covet: "Dad's got a point. Plus, we can come back another day if you want." She told him then pushed him to the edge to help him get out. "Go get your towel and go change into your other clothes, it's cold outside." // Connor reluctantly climbed out and got his towel and all that.
Alexithymiaa: -He waited until Connor was out of earshot before chiming in. "Does that really happen? Can you be like... so water logged that you actually swell?"-
Covet: "I don't think so, at least not from the pool. Maybe from retaining water though?" Kelsey asked, because she had no idea.
Alexithymiaa: "I don't know, bio was never my strong suit." He said as he pushed up to his feet and walking over to his bag on the bench to stow his phone. "Did you want to shower before we head back?"-
Covet: "I was going to do a couple more laps, then I can meet you in the shower." Kelsey told him as she started to swim to the end of the lane.
Alexithymiaa: "I think I can manage that." He said with a smirk, grabbing the towel to toss around his neck. "Make them fast laps."-
Covet: "I'll try not do them and drown." Kelsey said as she started them so that she could meet Brad in the shower.
