I am writing this reference at the request of Nikolaos Sakiotis, who is applying for the DAAD Scholarship.
I have known Nikolaos Sakiotis since academic year 2010-11, when he achieved exceptional performance in the “Information Retrieval  Systems” class, which I have taught for several years. He got the highest grade among my class’ students (9.6/10).

Furthermore, he has shown excellent performance in all the subjects of his two Bachelor Degree specialization fields (Databases and Knowledge Management – Computer Systems and Networks) and belongs among the top 10% students of the Informatics department.

Currently he is working with me at the “Information Process Laboratory” of Athens University of Economics and Business, which I direct, on a Medical Image Semantic and Content Based Retrieval System. This will be part of his Bachelor Thesis, which I supervise.
