- Points:42 Blaziken Centric Team
- This was the first real 5th gen team I'd ever made, and I still like to play with it once in a while. The team is centered around Blaziken, and allowing an easy sweep for him, while also covering his weaknesses, and providing the necessary support.
- Latios@Choice Scarf
- {Levitate}
- Modest nature
- EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack/ 6 HP
- Trick
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- This is one of my favorite leads ever. TrickScarf ruins things like Hippowdon, or a Nattorei switch-in, which is quite common. Draco Meteor punches giant holes into anything not resistant, or not big pink blobs. Surf is good coverage, and hits TTar switch-ins, as well as allowing Latios to wall opposing Blaziken moderately, and hit it. Hidden Power Fire takes a lot of common switch-ins by surprise. Nattorei is 2HKOd, Scizor is OHKOd. Genosect leads are OHKOd (Scarf outspeeds them).
- Bronzong@ Leftovers
- {Levitate}
- Relaxed nature
- IVs: 0 Speed
- EVs: 252 HP/ 156 Defense/ 100 Sp. Defense
- Stealth Rock
- Reflect
- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake
- Back in around September, people just discovered that Doryuuzu? He kinda kicks ass. The bad thing? Everyone seemed to discover this at the same time. So Bronzong was here to stop Doryuuzu. It actually beats Balloon Dory in Sand one-on-one. Stealth Rock and Reflect offer team support. Gyro Ball is STAB, and for Balloon-popping purposes. Earthquake fixes Doryuuzu's wagon. That's about it. This can, and probably should be replaced by something like Gliscor, but iirc, SRock and Poison Heal is illegal. *shrugs* Do your job and suggest crap! >:3
- Salamence@ Life Orb
- {Intimidate}
- Naive nature
- EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Attack/ 6 Sp. Attack
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- The old gen 4 standard, and it still works really well. It can tear through entire noob teams/unprepared teams! Simple and effective; setup on something non-threatening, or something that's forced out, and sweep. Outrage is absurdly powerful with STAB, LO, DD, and already ridiculous power. Earthquake is for coverage on Steel types. Fire Blast is the same thing, really, but geared towards Skarm, Bronzong and Nattorei. Speaking of which, that brings us to...
- Nattorei@ Leftovers
- {Iron Thorns}
- Impish nature
- EVs: 252 HP/ 8 Defense/ 248 Sp. Defense
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Power Whip
- This is the most effective stall Pokemon I have ever used, and definitely my favorite gen 5 toy. The EVs give 330 in both defenses, allowing Nattorei to handle a multitude of attacks with it's incredible defensive typing and impressive defenses. Spikes provides Blaziken with the essential passive damage he needs to score some vital KOs, and wearing the opposing team down without attacking them is never a bad thing. SubSeed can win me entire matches, seriously. If I Sub as a Roobushin comes in, and they're stupid enough to Bulk Up as I Leech Seed, no amount of Bulking Up will save them; I will throw up Sub after Sub until Leech Seed and Iron Thorns kills them. Power Whip is NOT just filler so that it's not Taunt bait. Power Whip 2HKOs Doryuuzu, allows Nattorei to serve as an effective Kingdra counter, and the move is so powerful, Nattorei can actually do impressive damage to anything not resistant to it.
- Porygon2@ Evolution Stone
- {Trace}
- Bold nature
- EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Defense/ 6 Sp. Defense
- Charge Beam
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Thunder Wave
- The multipurpose wall for the team. The beating this thing can take is really awesome. It survives a Scizor Superpower with like 45% or something, and can just Thunder Wave it, and Recover off the damage. Charge Beam is nifty for Sp. Attack boosts (especially if I Trace Serene Grace, or Speed Boost), and can turn P2 into a sweeping wall. Which is weird, but it has happened. Ice Beam forms BoltBeam for maximum coverage. Recover is Recover. Thunder Wave thwarts sweepers, and gives Blaziken a chance to outspeed specific threats before it has any Speed Boosts.
- Blaziken@ Wide Lens
- {Speed Boost}
- Adamant nature
- EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Attack/ 6 Defense
- Swords Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Hi Jump Kick
- Stone Edge
- The star of the team. Blaziken is such an amazing sweeper. Swords Dance on something forced out (or something switching out, thinking you're using Protect), and cause mayhem. Flare Blitz and Hi Jump Kick provide incredibly powerful STAB moves, each with their owns cautions, but high-risk, high-reward, I suppose. Stone Edge is for Shandera, Ulgamoth, Salamence, Gyarados, etc. 99% accuracy on HJK, and 88% on Stone Edge. If I have to bring this in early, I usually scout with Stone Edge, looking for random Starmie, Burungeru, Lati@s, and other things that would force Blaziken out, and setup SD later on.
- So there's my team. I'm more likely to use it in weatherless tier, since last time I checked, I'm not completely insane/ignorant, so Bronzong is no longer necessary, I just need a good replacement for him that will benefit the team, preferrably one with access to Stealth Rock.
- Ooh, I've not done an RMT since 4th gen, I no longer need to threaten people not to tell me to swap Blaziken for Infernape. :>
- ...Still, don't. Rate away! ^_^
- Edit: Just realized I said I was playing in weatherless, yet mentioned many weather Pokemon in the analysis. It's like 1 AM, ignore it. xD Last edited by Richard and Blaziken; 15 Hours Ago at 03:10 AM. Reason: Adding sprites
